WELCOME TO Key information Schedule 07.30 Car Parks open on 08.00 Registration Open 09.25 Warm up for the Fun Run 09.30 FUN RUN BEGINS 10.05 Warm up for the 10K 10.10 RUSHCLIFFE 10K BEGINS 10.20 TODDLER DASH BEGINS Thank you for signing up to take part in the Rushcliffe 10K & Running Festival 2019! This is our second year delivering the event and one of the key things we ve had to consider is how to try and improve on what was already a really good event. For the first time, the 10K route will be a single lap so there ll be no lapping of anyone to contend with. This also allows for more people to take part as we venture out of the park and through some of the residential areas in the vicinity. The 5K is back for a second year with a brand new route too and we hope to continue to see this grow alongside the ever popular fun run. Finally, we have added two new options - the Toddler Dash - which will see the 10K winners of the future sprinting down the finish straight and the 10K & 5K for those who really want to go long! We re delighted to be working with Cerebral Palsy Sport once again as our official charity. Their volunteers will be out in force helping you around the routes so please donate anything you can in the buckets around the event village. We d also like to thank Rushcliffe Athletics Club for their ongoing support and for helping with marshals too. We work very closely with Rushcliffe Borough Council to deliver this event and their support throughout the planning stages is invaluable. Finally, we would love to see your pictures of the event, so please share your images with us on social media - @Rushcliffe10K on Twitter or @Rushcliffe 10K on Facebook. I hope you enjoy your race and I look forward to seeing you all on the start line. Nik Emmonds Event Director Perfect Motion 11.25 Warm up for the 5K 11.30 RUSHCLIFFE 5K BEGINS 12.30 Event Close Before you arrive The only thing you need to do before the event is prepare yourself and your kit for the race. Your runner number will arrive in the post ahead of the event. If you enter after 12pm on Tuesday 26th February you will need to collect your number from Registration on the morning of the event. If you entered before this date, you should have received your pack in the post. If you haven t, please visit Registration on the morning of the event. Getting there & Parking The event starts and finishes at Rushcliffe Country Park. If you are driving to the event, you will be able to park at the venue. The address is, Ruddington NG11 6JS. There are three main car parks available for the event, all accessed via. We will fill these up one at a time, so please obey the instructions of the marshals who are there to help you. To make things quicker, please display your runner number in your windscreen on arrival. The marshal can then direct you straight into a car park rather than having to stop you to ask what you are here for. The event is taking place in a public park that is not closed to the general public. As such, the main Country Park car park is open. We ask all participants NOT to use this car park. If you choose to, then normal parking fees apply and enforcement will be in operation. We also ask all participants NOT to park on the road as you may obscure the route you will be running. Given the limited space, we strongly encourage car sharing wherever possible. Please also note that if you are arriving for the 5K after 10am or are leaving the event after 10am, then you will need to wait to enter/exit until given permission to do so by a marshal as races will be underway around the area by that point.
Key information On Arrival & Registration When you arrive at Rushcliffe Country Park, follow the signs to the main event village. If you have your runner number then you can just mill around the area until called over for the warm-up. If you have any issues, or entered after 12pm on Tuesday 26th February, then you will need to head to the Registration marquee to collect your number or ask any questions. This will be clearly marked with a large flag. Your number has an integrated timing chip, so please affix this to the front of your outermost layer of clothing using the safety pins provided. If this is not on your front it may affect your time. Fun Run bibs do not have timing chips, but we still ask that bibs are worn on the front to help marshals identify you in the race. If you have signed up to complete more than one of the races, please note that you will need to wear a different number for each race to ensure you get a time. All of your numbers will have been posted out to you in advance unless you entered after the cut off time above. Importantly, please do not wear a number for a different race near the start/finish as this will cause issues for the timing company. Water There will be water provided to all finishers on the completion of their race. There will also be a water station at the halfway point on the 10K. For those taking part in the 5K or Fun Run, please be selfsufficient with any hydration requirements you need during your run. Toilets Portable toilets will be available in the event village. There are also public toilets available around the park. Baggage A baggage tent will be in operation for the event in return for a donation to our official charity Cerebral Palsy Sport. A minimum 1 donation will be requested for any items left at the baggage tent. You will be issued with a numbered ticket that matches one that will be attached to your items. We highly recommend adding your runner number or some identifying mark to the items before you arrive to help us return your baggage to you as soon as possible. Please note that we reserve the right to search all bags before they are left in the baggage tent. Photography There will be photographers capturing the event at various points. While we will do our best to ensure you all feature in at least one photograph we cannot guarantee this. If you would like to ensure you have a photo, please talk to the photographer situated around the start/finish area and make use of the selfie boards! We will have photographers from MyBibNumber in attendance to capture you in all your glory. You will have the option to view and purchase these photos post event. You ll receive a link in your newsletter to take you to the relevant site. First Aid St John s Ambulance Service will be providing first aid at the event. There will be a number of first aiders located around the routes and there will also be two first aiders on bikes following the runners. If you require first aid, or you see someone who does, please report it to the next available marshal who will be able to contact the first aid team via radio. Catering The fantastic Wolf Hut will be in attendance offering great food and drink options throughout the event. Their food is seriously good, so bring some money with you for a post race treat. Finish You will finish your race by passing back under the gantry. With the new routes, there will be a mixture in the way you finish, with the 5K and Fun Run completing a full loop while the 10K and Toddler Dash will require runners to run back in the opposite way to the way they were set off. We do ask that you do not stop as soon as you cross the finish line. This causes a backlog for people finishing behind you and may affect their times. Please keep moving through the line and if you need to stop, please move to the side of the finish funnel out of the way of other runners. Prizes & Rewards All runners will receive a medal for taking part in the event and a bottle of water and snack when they finish. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories - Top 3 Males and Top 3 Females in both the 10K and 5K. There will also be prizes for the Top Female Junior and the Top Male Junior in the 10K. Presentations will take place at the following times - 11:10am for the 10K and 12:10pm for the 5K. Winners are required to attend the presentation in order to receive their prizes. No prizes will be posted out post event.
