The Monte-Carlo Country Club in 1928 THE MONTE-CARLO COUNTRY CLUB Since its inauguration on 27th February 1928, the Monte-Carlo Country Club has played host to one of the most popular tennis tournaments in the world in one of the most outstanding sites, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The 113th edition of the Monte-Carlo Tennis Tournament, the «Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters», will be taking place from the 13th to the 21st April 2019, in its legendary setting where most of the great names of international tennis have been acclaimed by an enthusiastic crowd that comes in ever greater numbers each year. Nastase, Vilas, Borg, Connors, Lendl, Becker, Noah, Sampras, Agassi, Federer, Wawrinka, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray have all, in their times, excelled on the legendary courts. Under the presidency of Baroness Elizabeth-Ann de Massy, the Monte-Carlo Country Club provides continuously improved facilities that enable the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters to offer the ideal structures to its public, media, players and partners.
THE ATP WORLD TOUR MASTERS 1000 The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters is part of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000, an exclusive category consisting of the nine most important tournaments in the world after the four Grand Slams. The draws in these tournaments are composed of 96 or 56 players for outdoor events and 48 players for indoor events. At the end of the season, the eight highest ranked players in the world participate in the ATP World Tour Finals, taking place in London in November 2019.
