The Blue Hose have exceeded expectations every year since playing their first Big South Conference season in 2008, beating an 11th place prediction last year by finishing ninth. A Team of Distinction In June, the Blue Hose earned a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA for its latest Academic Progress Report (APR) score. The distinction honors PC women s soccer for an APR in the top 10 percent of Division I women s soccer programs in the nation. The Blue Hose are one of 13 athletic programs in the Big South Conference and the only League women s soccer team to receive a Public Recognition Award. This year s award marks the third straight for the program as well. 2011 in Review The Blue Hose went 4-13-2 in 2011 with a 2-6-2 marker in Big South Conference play. PC ended the season with a 1-0 shutout over High Point and picked up a 2-1 win over Coastal Carolina. At the Helm Brian Purcell returns as PC s head coach for the 24rd year. Purcell, the only coach in program history, enters this season with a 229-163-19 career record. A 1987 graduate of PC, Purcell won the South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year award seven times and earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America s Coach of the Year award in 1994. He is joined this season by 2012 graduate and former PC goalkeeper Sarah Beth Anderson, the school s alltime leader in saves. ## Points GP G A Pts Shots 5 ALLEN, Stephanie 12 2 0 4 17 14 BLACKWELL, Alice 13 2 0 4 5 9 KOZERA, Kelly 12 0 2 2 10 22 O'NEILL, Keri 12 0 1 1 6 3 PATTI, Taylor 6 0 1 1 1 ## Goals GP G A Pts Shots 5 ALLEN, Stephanie 12 2 0 4 17 14 BLACKWELL, Alice 13 2 0 4 5 ## Assists GP G A Pts Shots 9 KOZERA, Kelly 12 0 2 2 10 3 PATTI, Taylor 6 0 1 1 1 22 O'NEILL, Keri 12 0 1 1 6 2012 Presbyterian College Soccer Presbyterian College Category Leaders (as of Oct 09, 2012) All games ## Shots GP G A Shots Shot% 16 LOPEZ, Tori 13 4 1 21.190 5 ALLEN, Stephanie 12 2 0 17.118 4 SMITH, Catie 12 0 0 10.000 9 KOZERA, Kelly 12 0 2 10.000 12 SIMPSON, Sara 13 3 2 9.333 11 MILLER, Rebecca 13 0 0 9.000 21 COBB, Sophie 13 1 1 6.167 19 WHITSON, Brittany 11 1 1 6.167 22 O'NEILL, Keri 12 0 1 6.000 14 BLACKWELL, Alice 13 2 0 5.400 ## Shots on Goal GP G A Shots SOG SOG% 16 LOPEZ, Tori 13 4 1 21 13.619 5 ALLEN, Stephanie 12 2 0 17 9.529 12 SIMPSON, Sara 13 3 2 9 6.667 4 SMITH, Catie 12 0 0 10 5.500 9 KOZERA, Kelly 12 0 2 10 5.500 21 COBB, Sophie 13 1 1 6 5.833 11 MILLER, Rebecca 13 0 0 9 4.444 14 BLACKWELL, Alice 13 2 0 5 4.800 22 O'NEILL, Keri 12 0 1 6 3.500 19 WHITSON, Brittany 11 1 1 6 3.500 ## Game-winning Goals GP No. 16 LOPEZ, Tori 13 1 2012 Team Game Highs POINTS...11 vs VMI (Sep 29) 9 at Francis Marion (Aug 21) GOALS...4 vs VMI (Sep 29) 3 at Francis Marion (Aug 21) ASSISTS...3 vs VMI (Sep 29) 3 at Francis Marion (Aug 21) SHOTS...20 at USC Upstate (Sep 16) 17 at Francis Marion (Aug 21) SHOTS ON GOAL...15 at Francis Marion (Aug 21) 10 at USC Upstate (Sep 16) SAVES...12 vs Jacksonville (Sep 06) 11 at Campbell (Oct 06) CORNER KICKS...10 at Francis Marion (Aug 21) 8 vs Jacksonville (Sep 06) FOULS...17 at Francis Marion (Aug 21) 15 vs VMI (Sep 29) 2012 Individual Game Highs POINTS...5 Lopez, vs VMI (Sep 29) GOALS...2 Lopez, vs VMI (Sep 29) 1 Simpson, 3x, at Campbell (Sep 06) 1 Whitson, at Longwood (Sept 22) 1 Blackwell, 2x, vs VMI (Sep 29) 1 Allen, 2x, at ETSU (Aug 24) 1 Cobb at Francis Marion (Aug 21) 1 Lopez, 2x, at ETUS (Aug 24) ASSISTS...1 Whitson at Campbell (Oct 06) 1 O Neill, vs VMI (Sep 29) 1 Kozera, 2x, last vs VMI (Sep 29) 1 Simpson, 2x, at ETSU (Aug 24) 1 Cobb at ETSU (Aug 24).1 Patti at Francis Marion (Aug 21) SHOTS ON GOAL...4 Smith at USC Upstate (Sep 16) 4 Lopez at Francis Marion (Aug 21) 4 Allen at Francis Marion (Aug 21) SAVES...10 Fontenot vs Furman (Sep 02) 9 Broadway vs Jacksonville (Sep 06)
