One hundred permanent stalls and 40 temporary stalls will be available on the grounds. Stalls will be reserved only with payment of fees on first come, first serve basis. Entry fees will not be refunded unless a certificate of illness or injury prepared by an accredited veterinarian is presented to the secretary before the start of the show (7/17/09). Warranted refunds, less an office processing charge of $5.00 per pony, will be returned by mail. Ponies that are not shown in classes that they have entered forfeit their entry fees. Changes made to the entry form on the dates of the show will be considered post entries and may be charged accordingly. 4. MHSA classes are open to all eligible entries BUT Only MHSA members will receive MHSA High Score Points. The Maryland Pony Breeders show is operated in accordance with the current rules of the MHSA of which body it is a Regular Show Member and is Rated C in MD Bred Pony Performance, Pleasure Pony, Short Stirrup Equitation, Leadline, and Pony Hunter Breeding (double judged). 5. The Steward will be available to measure uncarded ponies at 8 AM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 6. Classes may be divided, combined or rescheduled at the discretion of Show Management according to governing Breed Regulations. WPCSA Welsh classes may not be combined. A Three (3) Minute gate rule will be in effect. Exhibitors are notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or officials, on the part of the owner, rider, or groom, shall disqualify the ponies, and the owner shall forfeit his entry fee and other fees. 7. Where designated, prize money will be awarded with ribbon at the completion of that class. 8. A Junior s Age, is the child s age as of December 1, 2008. Indicate Junior s BIRTH DATE on your entry form. 9. JUNIOR/ADULT EXHIBITORS (INCLUDING WESTERN RIDERS) MUST WEAR APPROVED PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR (ASTM/SEI) AT ALL TIMES WHENEVER MOUNTED. IN ADDITION, JUNIOR EXHIBITORS MUST ALSO WEAR APPROVED PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR IN A DRIVEN VEHICLE WHILE ON THE SHOW GROUNDS. HEADGEAR HARNESS MUST BE SECURED AND PROPERLY FITTED. WPCSA CARRIAGE DRIVING (Article 113.2) Division open to all ponies, cobs and half -Welsh in an appropriate two or four-wheeled vehicle. In addition to the gaits detailed in the pleasure driving section Article 113.1 (walk, working trot, trot-on, halt and rein-back), carriage driving also requires the slow trot which is slower and more collected but not to the degree required in the dressage collected trot. The animal should indicate a willingness to be driven on the bit while maintaining a steady cadence. TURNOUT to be judged 70% on the condition, fit and appropriateness of harness and vehicle, neatness and appropriateness of attire and overall impression; 30% on performance, manners and way of going.
