Congratulations District Winners! Coaches, congratulations on your district win and good luck to you at Regionals! You will be attending Region A, held at the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds (bcyf.org) in Berrien Springs, MI on September 30 th & October 1 st 2017. Attending Region A will be Districts 3, 15, 16 and 19. Teams will compete over two days and the top two scoring teams in each division will advance to State competition in Midland, MI October 12 th to the 15 th. Once you have read the following information we will need the information on page 3 by Tuesday evening September 26 th. Please send the information to Judy (D3) at D3Judy@gmail.com. When you arrive you will need to pay Michelle (D15) for all registration fees. Michelle will have a copy of what you have reserved and give you a receipt. You will receive your back numbers and camper passes from Brian (D19) in the office Friday evening. Patterns for Showmanship, Equitation and Trail can be located on the website MIHA.org no sooner than Monday September 25 th Remember all riding classes (including bareback) will have a pattern. I believe you will find all the information you need within the next 8 pages. If you need any help or have questions along the way contact your DC or Judy (D3) at D3Judy@gmail.com. The Regional committee will hold a coaches meeting at 9pm Friday evening (the 29 th) at the top of the grandstand. Region A Registration Information Fees for Region A 2017 Rider Fee - $65 (includes 1 stall) Extra Stalls - $30 (all horses spending the night must be stalled) Camping - $40 (includes 1 electric hook up and access to water) Dump station is available Shavings - $8per bag (available by order only) ** limited supply available at the meet, no guarantees if not ordered *** all stalls must be cleaned completely to the ground*** Gates open: 4:00p.m. Friday September 29 th, 2017 Enter at gate #1. ** Please do not try to enter early** Once in the gate you will turn left before the barns then right after the barns. Registration/show office will be open 6:30 to 8:30p.m. Friday September 29 th, 2017. Coaches question and answer meeting at 9pm Friday at the top of the grandstand. Coaches should check in at the office to pay fees, receive back numbers, camping permits. Stall assignments will be posted. Only coaches and assistant coaches are allowed to come to the office for information or make changes during the meet. Stalls will be assigned in barns 46 to 52 and posted when you arrive. After all are registered I will email stall assignments. Districts will be stalled together. Campers may park behind/east of the horse barns or south of the committee campers (see map). Locations will not be assigned but a camp permit must be displayed in window by 10a.m. on Saturday. Fair employees will do a count! Please do not park in emergency/fire lanes or fair employees will move you. If you are unsure please ask. Completed Slot Sheets should be emailed in with registration!!!! Judges/Coaches meeting 7:02 a.m. Saturday September 30th at the top of the grandstands. 8 a.m. Saturday Presentation of teams (with or without horses). Bring your team banner if you have one. Teams will be announced in this order D teams D3, D15, D16, D19, C teams, D3, D15, D16, D19, B teams D3, D15, D16, D19, A teams D3, D15, D16, D19. Please line up outside the indoor show arena in that order. This is a good opportunity for a team picture. 4

Camping Rules for Region A 1. Each campsite is required to have a responsible adult (18 or older), staying with the group each night. 2. All who stay the night will be charged as a camper. (no tents) No sleeping in the barns or out buildings. 3. Pets must be inside camper, restrained on own camp lot, or leashed with leash in hand at all times and appropriate cleanup is required. 4. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs will be allowed. Violators will be removed and prosecuted. 5. Any camper, member or camping group, who violates any rule, will have their camping permits revoked. They will be required to remove their camper from the grounds immediately, or it will be removed at the owner s expense. Camping fees will be forfeited and camping parties will not be allowed back with out approval from the Show committee. 6. Ground Fires are not allowed. Fires must be contained and controlled. 7. NO SMOKING except in designated parking areas or within camp site. 8. Please keep your area picked up and free of trash. The premises must be left clean and orderly. 9. Dump station is available. Berrien Springs is a small town without hotels. Check listings in St. Joseph, Stevensville or Benton Harbor for hotel choices 5

MIHA Region A Meet Rules 1. No riding faster than a walk or Lunging outside of the Rings. There are three large practice rings that can be used. 2. Proper footgear (heeled boots); headgear (when jumping) and tack must be worn during all riding. No tank tops, no halter-tops, t-shirt minimum required. No tennis shoes. No riding with halters and lead ropes. Proper riding equipment only. 3. No riding after dark unless competing. 4. If you load or unload in front of the barns please make it as quick as possible then move trailer to avoid traffic congestion. No parking in front of barns. No loading or unloading in front of barns during competition. 5. No cursing in or out of the rings. 6. Participants and parents are expected to be courteous to all show volunteers and fairgrounds crew. 7. Stalls and Tack stalls must be cleaned to the ground before departure. Stalls not cleaned will be charged to your team ($20). Your DC must check your stalls before leaving. 8. Dogs must be leashed with leash in hand at all times and appropriate cleanup is required. 9. NO SMOKING except in designated parking areas or within camp site. Coaches: all your team members and there parents, trainers or friends are your responsibility. If a problem arises during competition only a coach may bring it to the office or directly to your District Chairman. Nobody goes to the Judge. One warning will be given. The next infraction, the person will be asked to leave the ground for the day of competition. If the person does not comply, all points for said team for that day of competition will be forfeited. Check rule book for proper ways to protest. 7
