On the Creative Edge

O n the Creative Edge brochure and playing cards are an outgrowth of a year long collaborative project led by the Tides Institute & Museum of Art and funded initially by an inaugural matching Creative Communities = Economic Development (CCED) grant from the Maine Arts Commission. Other project partners include City of Eastport, Eastport Chamber of Commerce, Sunrise County Economic Council, Port of Eastport, Eastport Arts Center, Border Historical Society, Waponahki Museum, and Peavey Memorial Library. Subsequent activities have been funded, in part, by the national ArtPlace initiative. Funding for the printing of the brochure and playing cards has come from Eastport for Pride. For additional information about the On the Creative Edge initiative, see: www.onthecreativeedge.net. The large wood type letters spelling out Eastport are from the working studio collections of the Tides Institute s StudioWorks facility in downtown Eastport.
