General Edge Sprts Center Rules Applying t All Sprts The Edge Sprts Center is a family-riented sprts facility prviding a friendly envirnment fr practice, instructin, and bth recreatinal and cmpetitive league play fr turf-based sprts. The Edge Sprts Center will nt be held respnsible fr any injuries that may ccur t players r participants in games r ther activities. Play at yur wn risk! N beverages, gum, seeds, r fd f any kind are allwed n the playing field. WATER IS OK! N spitting is allwed ther than in the apprpriate basins in the restrms. ALL frms f smking and chewing tbacc are prhibited inside the facility. This is a drug, alchl, and substance free center! Anyne partaking in these activities n the prperty r cming t the facility intxicated will be banned frm the facility. The Edge Sprts Center will nt be held respnsible fr lst, stlen, r damaged prperty. Sprts play is restricted t the playing field and ther designated sprts areas (e.g. batting cages). Only named team caches, instructrs, players, and game fficials are allwed in the playing field area, unless access is specifically authrized by The Edge Management. The fllwing is the current list f activities during which spectatrs are allwed access n the ther side f the chain link fence. NOTE: Spectatrs entering any part f the field d s at their wn risk. Baseball & Fastpitch Sftball N access t baseball field itself Spectatrs are allwed in the fenced ff area in center field. Adult Ftball League Games Spectatrs wh are OVER 18 may watch frm inside the chain link fence n the SOUTH side f the field nly, and must stay suth (lbby-side) f the white line. ALL OTHER SPECTATORS MUST STAY OUTSIDE THE CHAIN LINK FENCE The Edge Sprts Center has a zer tlerance plicy with regard t fighting and abusive language. N disrespectful, cnfrntatinal r abusive behavir tward referees is allwed at any time. Anyne wh vilates this plicy will be asked t immediately leave the facility. Other cnsequences, such as being banned frm the facility, may als apply. Any patrn wh willfully causes damage t The Edge Sprts Center prperty will be respnsible t pay fr that damage. A $25 minimum will be charged fr the damage.

Rules fr Adult Flag Ftball at The Edge Sprts Center September 8, 2015 2015 NFHS Rules, as implemented by CHSSA in Clrad High Schl Ftball Games, will be used t gvern play with the fllwing additins, clarificatins, and changes. In the event f a dispute, the white hat referee s judgement is final. N prtests will be allwed. Sessin Infrmatin Sessin Length: Every team will play a minimum f 7 games. This ttal includes league play and the first rund f the playffs. Sme teams may play ne r tw mre games depending n the playff structure and n hw they d in the playffs. Prizes: A trphy will be awarded t the 1 st place team. Each member f the champinship team will receive an Edge Sprts Center tee-shirt with Flag Ftball League Champins n it (up t 16 shirts additinal shirts may be purchased at cst. General Facility Specific Infrmatin Only players, fficials, and the screr are allwed n the player bench (Nrth) side f the field. Everyne else must stay n the suth side f the field behind the white line. Spectatrs under 18 must stay OUTSIDE the chain link fence. Any ball that hits anything abve the playing field (net, curtain, rf structure, etc) is a dead ball. Exceptin: On a field gal, it des nt matter if the ftball tuches anything n its way t the uprights. Hwever, tuching a part f the facility is NOT grunds fr reattempting the field gal. The field is in-filled synthetic turf. Shes with rubber r plastic cleats with a maximum length f 1/2 are allwed, as are turf shes and regular flat running r athletic shes. NO METAL CLEATS, CERAMIC CLEATS, OR SCREW-IN/DETACHABLE CLEATS ARE ALLOWED. (Exceptin: screwin cleats are allwed if the screw is part f the cleat.) All players and spectatrs are respnsible fr knwing and fllwing The Rules f The Edge Sprts Center described abve. The field will be marked with yardage markers n bth sides f the field at bth gal lines (G), bth 1 st first-dwn lines (10) and the mid-field line (20). The end-zne will be marked with bright pylns. A three-referee system will be used. Flags will be used t mark the line-f-scrimmage and the first dwn line n ne side f the field. A screbard will recrd the time remaining and scre. annunced ver the PA system. Equipment Flag Belt All shirts must be tucked in - Shirts are nt permitted t hand ver the flag belt Shuld a player lse their flag belt legally r illegally during a dwn, and shuld that player gain pssessin f a live ball, that player will cnsidered dwn when a legal tag (ONE hand tuched by the defense between the shulders and the knees, including the hand and arm) is made. Illegal equipment cnsists f : Flag belt nt securely attached at the snap Flag belt twisted such that the flags will nt pull ff with nrmal effrt (this will be checked by the fficials n each player that scres a tuchdwn r 2-pint cnversin immediately after they scre.). Headwear cntaining any hard, unyielding, stiff material including billed hats, r items cntaining expsed knts. Jewelry f any kind (pierced jewelry may be taped ver) (smth wedding bands are allwed)

Players may nt be added t the team after the kickff f their third game f the seasn. Each team shuld start the game with 8 players; Teams must have a minimum f six (6) players t start and finish a game therwise the game will be cnsidered a frfeit and scred as 14-0. Players are strngly encuraged t have numbered shirts. This facilitates keeping statistics and als identifying players wh have cmmitted a penalty. Nt having numbers slws dwn the game. Linemen The ffensive team must have a minimum f 3 linemen n the line f scrimmage Cnfiguratin: a center and ne guard n bth sides f the center Spacing: Apprximately ne arm s length apart These three are strictly linemen; they may nt receive the ball in any fashin including a handff, pitch, r pass: they must nt wear a flag belt; if they d receive the ball, the penalty will be that fr an ineligible receiver. The defensive team must have a minimum f tw players n the line f scrimmage These tw must be lined up either head-n, r inside f, the three ffensive linemen anything else is an illegal frmatin Defensive linemen d nt have t rush Flag belts are ptinal fr defensive linemen If a defensive linement withut a flag intercepts a pass, that player will cnsidered dwn when a legal tag (ONE hand tuch by the ppnent between the shulders and the knees, including the hand and arm) is made. Blcking/Other Player-t-Player Cntact (These rules apply t bth the ffensive and defensive teams) Blckers must have bth hands/arms at chest level, The hands must remain pen (n clsed fists) and must stay in frnt f the bdy. N blcking is allwed belw the waist r abve the shulders Cntact is permitted nly with the hands. Blcking with any ther part f the bdy (shulder, elbws..) is prhibited. Clipping, cut-blcks and chp-blcks are all illegal Offensive players may nly blck twenty (20) yards past the line f scrimmage. All players must remain n their feet; they may nt prpel themselves int the air using the legs. The ball carrier may nt dive, hurdle, jump, r leave his feet t advance the ball Defensive players may nt dive, hurdle r jump t pull r attempt t pull a flag. N defensive player may drive r push a ball carrier ut-f-bunds players must g after the flag There is NO blcking n returns f interceptins (r fumbles caught in the air).

Players f the intercepting team shuld stp immediately and put their hands in the air t clearly indicate that they are nt invlved in the play. Any attempt t create a screen statinary r mving will be penalized as an illegal blck. Players attempting t de-flag the player wh intercepted the ball may nt tuch any member f the ther team as they attempt t pull the flag f the runner i.e. they must treat the ther players f the intercepting team as if they were a referee. The ball carrier must attempt t avid cntact with defenders any attempt t charge r run thrugh a defender is a ful. Tackling is prhibited at all times and is cnsidered a majr ful. If a defensive player tackles a ball carrier wh, in the judge f the fficial, wuld have scred a tuchdwn, the fficials may award a tuchdwn. Defensive players may chuck receivers cming ff the line f scrimmage (with their hands nly) until such time as the receiver reaches the same plane as the defensive player. Once the receiver reaches this pint with respect t the defender, n additinal cntact that affects the ability f the receiver t run his rute and/r catch the ball may be made by the defense. Defensive players may nt use swim mves i.e. their arms must stay belw the shulder level All ver-aggressive play, pushing, and/r hlding is nt allwed. Playing Time, Time Outs, Overtime Length f Regulatin Game Tw 25-minute halves, running time until the stp-clck ges int effect (see belw). Each team has tw 30-secnd time uts in each half Timeuts always stp the game clck n matter when they are called. Teams will have 25 secnds frm the sptting f the ball t snap the ball. Otherwise it is a delay f game penalty. In the final minute f regulatin time f each half, r, in the secnd half, if the scre differential with 2 minutes remaining is less than r equal t 14 pints, in the final tw minutes f regulatin time, the game will run n stp-clck. The clck will be stpped fr the fllwing situatins when the whistle is blwn, and then restarted nce the ball is placed by the referee and he signals fr the clck t start First dwn Fr dead ball situatins: The clck will be stpped fr the fllwing situatins when the whistle is blwn, and then restarted nce the ball is snapped Players ging ut f bunds Incmplete passes During and after a punt Change f pssessin fr any reasn Penalties. The clck is stpped while the penalty is declared, during any decisin with the ppsing team abut whether t accept r decline the penalty, and during the marking ff f the penalty. After that, the play clck status returns t that which it wuld have been withut the penalty. If the clck wuld have been running withut the penalty, it is started again n the referees signal. If the clck wuld have been stpped anyway withut the penalty, it stays stpped until the snap is made Field Gal Attempt If the clck wuld already be running fr ne f the abve reasns, it will be stpped as sn as the ffensive team annunces that it is ging t g fr a field gal. Then 3 secnds will be run ff the clck t simulate the time f play. The clck will then restart at the snap f the next play In all ther cases, the clck will cntinue t run cntinuusly Overtime: In case f a tie at the end f regulatin time (Hme team always begins the vertime with the ball) League Games & nn-designated playff games (e.g. cnslatin games) Each team will have ne pprtunity t scre. The ball will be placed n the 10 yard line clsest t their ppnents end zne, and the team will have 1 set f dwns (4) t scre. Teams may elect scre in any way and if a tuchdwn is made, t g fr a ne r tw pint cnversin. If the scre is still tied after each team has had ne pprtunity t scre, the game is ver and will be scred as a tie

Scring Designated Playff Games (i.e., thse that determine whether a team mves n twards the champinship.) The game will be cntinued until ne team r the ther wins Fr the first vertime perid each team will have ne pprtunity t scre.. The ball will be placed n the 10 yard line clsest t their ppnents end zne, and the team will have 1 set f dwns (4) t scre. Teams may elect scre in any way and if a tuchdwn is made, t g fr a ne r tw pint cnversin. Fr the next tw vertime perids, again each team will have ne pprtunity t scre, but they must g fr a tuchdwn (nt a field gal) and they must g fr a tw pint cnversin. After 3 vertime perids, the frmat mves t sudden death. The first team t scre a tuchdwn wins the game. Tuchdwn = 6 pints PAT = 1 pint Cnversin after tuchdwn = 2 pints Field gal = 3 pints Safety = 2 pints NO-SAFETY EXCEPTION: Nte that a safety will NOT be called in the fllwing situatin: When the ball is AUTOMATICALLY placed n the 2-yard line t re-start play (see Starting/Re-starting the game belw), a safety will NOT be called when the ffense is deflagged in the end zne (r tuches the back line r sideline) until such time as the ball is first advanced PAST the tw-yard line by any means, including by a penalty. Starting/Re-Starting the game; First Dwns Pre-game cnference: Befre the start f the game, the fficials will meet with the captain f each team and Write dwn the names f the identified captains fr that team fr the game. Verify that all equipment is legal. The game will nt be started until all illegal equipment is remved r crrected. Starting & Restarting the Game The referee will tss a cin and the visiting team will call heads r tails. The team that wins the tss has the ptin t start with the ball r be n defense. The team that des NOT start with the ball in the first half, WILL start with the ball in the secnd half. T begin the game, the ball will be placed n the 2 yard line f the team that starts with the ball. The ther team des likewise at the start f the secnd half. After a tuchdwn r successful field gal, the ther team starts with the ball n their wn 2 yard line. After a safety, the ball is placed n the ppsite 10 yard line and pssessin is given t the team making the safety. After a deflagging in the endzne that des NOT result in a safety (see nte abve under scring), the place will be placed n the 2-yard line with a lss f dwn. Cntinuing dwn the field The ffense has 4 plays t make a first dwn at ne f the three designated first dwn lines, r t scre. If the ffense ges fr it n 4 th dwn, and fails, then the ball is turned ver t the ther team at the spt where the ball is dwned. Guarding the Flag Belt Runners shall nt flag guard using their hands, arms, r the ball t deny the pprtunity fr an ppnent t pull r remve the flag belt Flag guarding includes: Swinging the hand r arm ver the flag belt t prevent an ppnent frm de-flagging Placing the ball in pssessin ver the flag belt t prevent an ppnent frm deflagging. Lwering the shulders in such a manner that flag guards.

Backwards passes and fumbles The ball is placed where the fumble hits the grund, r where it ges ut f bunds. Fumbles are retained by the last in pssessin befre the ball hits the grund If the defense gains cntrl f the fumbles befre it hits the grund, r, if a defensive player intercepts a backwards pass, the ffensive team will lse pssessin f the ball and the defense will take pssessin at the pint where the defensive player gained cntrl f the ball. Defensive players may nt strip the ball carrier f the ball If the ffense des nt make a clean snap (clean snap = ball ges directly frm center t receiving back withut tuching the grund), then If it can be cleanly fielded by the quarterback (nly) withut the quarterback turning arund r taking mre than ne step t either side t get the ball, play will cntinue. If it is snapped ver the head f the ffensive player, the ball will be dead where it hits the grund. The ffensive team retains pssessin. Frward passes and interceptins A team may make at mst ne frward pass during a play. If a player is in the air attempting t catch a ball, the player must tuch the grund with at least ne ft in bunds with the ball in their pssessin prir t ging ut f bunds, unless cntact by an ppnent causes the player t first tuch ut f bunds. If pssessin is lst simultaneusly when they hit the grund, it is nt a catch If a frward pass is caught simultaneusly by members f ppsing teams, the ball is dead at that spt and belngs t the ffensive team. If the defense intercepts the ball, they may return it, but there is n blcking n the return (see Blcking!). Defensive/Offensive pass interference Defensive players may chuck receivers with their hands as lng as the receiver is in frnt f the defender. Thus, a defender can backpedal and cntinue t chuck the receiver. As sn as the receiver is past the defender, n further cntact is allwed. Otherwise, it is defensive pass interference if an eligible receiver is de-flagged r tuched prir t tuching the ball n a pass thrwn beynd the ffense s line f scrimmage. It is ffensive pass interference if the ffensive player pushes ff r trips the defender in rder t catch the ball. Punting and Field Gals The ffensive team has the ptin f punting r attempting a field gal n any dwn, but they must annunce their intent t d s befre cming t the line. N quick punts are allwed If the ffense elects t punt, the ball will be turned ver t the ther team and placed as fllws If punting between ne s wn gal and 10-yard line, the ball will be placed n the ppsite 10 yard line. If punting frm beynd ne s wn 10-yard line, the ball will be placed n the ppsite 2 yard line. If the ffense elects t attempt a field gal The defensive team must mve t the side f the field, cmpletely away frm the play The ball will be teed-up 7 yards behind the line f scrimmage A successful field gal is ne that tuches the end net cmpletely between the uprights, and cmpletely abve the bar. If the ball tuches the uprights r the bar r tuches utside the uprights r the bar, it is a missed field gal. It des nt matter if the ball tuches the ceiling net r ther facility structure n the way t the uprights. If a field gal is missed, the ppsing team will take pssessin f the ball at the line f scrimmage frm which the 7 yards was marked ff.

During nrmal, running clck time, the clck runs during the entirety f the field gal attempt. When the game is in stp-clck time, 3 secnds will be taken ff the clck fr each field gal attempt. Accepting/Declining Penalties The nly persn wh can accept/decline penalties is ne f the identified captains f the team. If a discussin is required between the fficials and a team, it shall be with ne f the identified captains nly.
