The following list shows you the many activities that you can become involved with in 4-H. You should put the points in the proper year s column as soon as you complete that activity. One Point for each completed activity, except where noted. 4-H PROJECT POINTS Write each different project name in the column only once. Include youth leadership as a project. Put one point by project each year you complete the project by exhibiting it at the fair or club meeting, except for youth leadership, which may be completed by helping your club. AWARD DEFINITIONS Each of the following awards may only be received one time. First Year Pin: Members have completed first year in 4-H (or the leader s discretion). Bronze Award: Members have accumulated 40 points on the permanent record in the record book. Silver Award: Members have accumulated 90 points on the permanent record in the record book. Gold Award: Members have accumulated 140 points on the permanent record in the record book. Honor Award: Members have accumulated 200 points on the permanent record in the record book. High Honor Award: Members have accumulated 260 points on the permanent record in the record book. Excellence Award: Members have accumulated 320 points on the permanent record in the record book. Graduate Pin: Members have completed three years of 4-H and have graduated from high school or are 18 years of age. Club Secretary Award (Up to 2 awards): Forms in Club Secretary Book must be completed: Attendance Record Sheet, Officer Summary Sheet, Club Calendar, monthly minutes (in order), and Club Evaluation Form. Financial Sheet is optional. Member does not need to be in Youth Leadership project to be nominated for this award. There is no age or grade requirement. Historian Award (Up to 2 awards given each year): Club Historian collects news stories and pictures about the club, its members, and accomplishments and activities during the past 4-H year and presents them in a neat, up-to-date completed scrapbook. Member does not need to be in Youth Leadership project to be nominated for this award. There is no age or grade requirement. Family Health & Home (Up to 2 awards): Members shall be in 6 th grade or higher, be enrolled in the youth leadership project during the past year and have a family, health and home project. Mechanical Science Award (Up to 2 awards): Members shall be in 6 th grade or higher, be enrolled in the youth leadership project during the past year, and have a mechanical science project. Environmental Education Award (Up to 2 awards): Members shall be in 6 th grade or higher, be enrolled in the youth leadership project during the past year, and have an environmental education project. Plant and Soil Award (Up to 2 awards): Members shall be in 6 th grade or higher, be enrolled in the youth leadership project during the past year, and have a plant and soil project. Animal Science Award-Large Animals (dairy, beef, swine, sheep, horse) (Up to 2 awards): Members shall be in 6 th grade or higher, be enrolled in the youth leadership project during the past year, and have an animal science project. Animal Science Award-Small Animals (dogs, cats, poultry, rabbits, pets) (Up to 2 awards): Members shall be in 6 th grade or higher, be enrolled in the youth leadership project during the past year, and have an animal science project. Cultural Arts Award (Up to 3 awards): Members shall be in 6 th grade or higher, be enrolled in the youth leadership project during the past year, and have a cultural arts project. County Youth Leader Award (Number varies each year): Members shall be in 7 th grade or higher, have completed two years of youth leadership project and be currently enrolled in it, have at least 40 or more permanent record points, and be active 4-H members. Teen Leader Award (Number varies each year): Members shall be in 9 th grade or higher, have completed three years of the youth leadership project and be currently enrolled in it, have at least 90 or more permanent record points, and be active 4-H members. * Explain briefly on the back page what you did in activities that are marked with an asterisk (*). Use extra pages as needed. Example: 1989 Item 6 Worked on Christmas party committee and planned entertainment. Item 23 Worked two hours at our club bake sale.
