GARDEN STATE COUNCIL BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA VOLUNTEER INFORMATION From Memorial Day May 25 through Sunday May 31, more than 100 of the top lady golfers will compete at the ShopRite Classic Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). This golf classic takes place at the Stockton Seaview Resort located in Galloway Township NJ. The Garden State Council, Boy Scouts of America is one of the official charitable partners. There are three ways we need your support and the most important is to volunteer for parking or as a Hole Marshal (hole 2 or 3). The ShopRite Foundation and the ShopRite Tournament make a significant donation to the Garden State Council for our volunteering. If you can t volunteer then please purchase tickets 100% of your ticket purchase will be donated to the council. Volunteer for Parking We staff four parking lots and need parking volunteers Monday May 25 through Sunday May 31 with our greatest need Thursday through Sunday. We staff parking from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm with shifts from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm; 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Volunteers are needed each day of the tournament and are encouraged to work at least one shift on the day they volunteer. Adults and youth (15 and older) can volunteer. There is no charge to volunteer for this position. You will be given a tee shirt to wear. You supply khaki colored pants-- shorts or trousers. It is not necessary to be registered with the Boy Scouts of America to volunteer. Marshal a Hole The marshal position is to ensure the crowd is considerate of the golfers and assure LPGA crowd guidelines are respected. The marshal uniform is a ShopRite LPGA golf style shirt (2015 year only); khaki shorts or trousers (you provide) and the LPGA hat or visor. Marshals also receive a certificate for one round of golf for the Seaview Bay Course for volunteering the number of shifts required by the tournament organizers (at least three shifts). There is a LPGA uniform cost of $45.00. Marshals are needed for the Pro-Am Wednesday May 27 & Thursday May 28 as well as tournament play Friday through Sunday. Marshals must be on the course by 7:00 am for the morning and 1:00 PM for the afternoon. It is not necessary to be registered with Boy Scouts of America to volunteer. Monday & Tuesday are practice rounds and final qualifiers. The Pro-am event takes place on Wednesday and Thursday at multiple courses. The Tournament Qualifying rounds are Friday and the Saturday. The final round takes place on Sunday. The Stockton University Seaview Resort is located at 401 S New York Rd, Galloway, NJ 08205 Uniform Pick Up (Friday May 15 or Saturday May 16) Uniforms can be picked up at the Stockton University Seaview Hotel Regency Room. On Friday, May 15: 5 8 pm and Saturday, May 16: 9 am 2 pm (Friends or family can pick up your uniform). Volunteer Kickoff party (Tuesday May 19) Please join us for complimentary food and beverages and a raffle as part of our gratitude for being such an important part of the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer. No RSVP required but the event is limited to volunteers only. The Volunteer kick Off Party takes place on Tuesday May 19 (note you must be a registered volunteer before attending-volunteer registration closes Friday May 15th). The party takes place at the Carriage House located at 25 South Pitney Road Galloway Township 08205 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Orientation Training (Thursday May 21) Not required but strongly encouraged. Each session will feature 30 minutes of general tournament information followed by training for your individual assignment. Please attend the session that corresponds with your volunteer assignment.
