Time for a Change Out with the old and in with the new, or as the Amish say, A new broom sweeps clean. Change is a good thing. Pat and I have had a lot of changes in our lives over the last few years. We sold our business, Pat retired, we built a new home and I had a retirement party. I am getting closer to being retired. Changes are fun and just a little bit scary, all of which adds to the excitement of the whole thing. It is now time for Pat and me to retire from being Chapter Directors. How exciting for everyone. The past two years have flown by. We have enjoyed it very much. We do, however, look forward to our new found time to be involved in things we have been looking forward to doing for a long time. On our agenda is, some winter time visiting relatives in Florida, a trip to England to visit more relatives and maybe a river cruise combined with lots of motorcycle rides. Jim and Patti Burr have been spending some time with Pat and me getting ready for next year and they are excited about taking over as Directors. Next year looks like a busy and fun year for Chapter B. It has been an honor and a pleasure to have worked for and with such a nice group of people we now consider our friends. Rob and Pat Another Change Coming in 2018 At the November gathering, Kevin Maddox from Lancaster Honda gave a presentation on the all new Gold Wing and Gold Wing Tour models for 2018. If you missed it he plans to be back at the February gathering, weather permitting, with Lancaster Honda s Gold Wing Tour model Demo Bike.
FROM JIM BURR ASSISTANT DIRECTOR After the Gathering I spoke with Ken from Enck s. In our conversation Ken clarified the prices. He apologized for not being clear with me in our earlier meeting. Ken did not include the 15% gratuity and 6% tax. I want to clarify what the price for the breakfast will be starting in January, 2018. Light Breakfast will be $8.00 Full Breakfast will be $13.50 Enck s has not charged us the gratuity or tax for the last 5 years. This was an oversight on his part that he needs to correct going forward. For the last 5 years the Chapter was paying for anyone who did not purchase a breakfast who was in attendance at our gatherings. Going forward everyone in attendance has to pay for either a full breakfast or light breakfast (eating or not). The Chapter cannot cover this anymore. Please keep in mind that Enck s gives us the use of the facilities and the equipment at no charge. The cost of the facility has always been breakfast. I apologize for any confusion that I may have caused. Chapter visits are off to a roaring start. Beginning on Friday November 10th and ending on November 19th we traveled over 1000 miles visiting 8 chapters promoting Spring Fling., All Chapters East and Indiantown Gap Flag and Flag Pole Restoration. We managed to sell 88 raffle tickets for the Quilt that we will be giving away at Spring Fling. The following Chapter members joined us on our road trips: John & Jeanne Parker, Gerry & Bonnie Kerkeslager, and Ron Spence. We started the week visiting Chapters T and Q. Gerry and Bonnie stayed up north to visit Chapters G, D, and I while the rest of us headed home. We began the following weekend with John Parker, Sandy Spence, Barry & Denise Ness and Richard Shutt joining us to visit Chapter C. Then 7 of us headed north on Saturday to visit Chapter P on Sunday morning and Chapter N in the evening for a
chili cook-off. We were well received and some of the chapters were amazed that we came so far to see them. We made new friends and got to see faces we have not seen in a while. We had some great food and good laughs along the way. Beginning in January we will visit Chapter V on the 14th and Chapter K on the 28th. Please go to our web site and sign up if you would like to join us on our next two adventures. Love to have more chapter members come and join us. Until next time Jim and Patti CHAPTER Q VISIT CHAPTER T VISIT

DISTRICT NEWS By Rick and Andi Riek PA District Directors Hello Everyone, As I sit here on Thanksgiving Day typing the newsletter and sniffing the turkey cooking, I am wondering where has the last three years gone? I can t believe that this is our last newsletter article as PA District Directors. It just seems like yesterday we told the District Directors, Dana and Danise Hartle and Region Director, Tom and Renee Wasluck that Andi and I would agree to become the GWRRA PA District Directors. They say time flies when you re having fun well, there has never been a time where we did not have fun at the many Gold Wing functions we attended. Andi and I would like to thank everyone on the district team for making our jobs easy. From the District Rallies, District Meetings, and the staff meetings we knew that if any of you were given a task to do, it would be done to perfection. We always said that we believed we had the greatest district staff around. Again, we thank all of you all from the bottom of our hearts. We will truly miss working with all of you and we are sure to remain awesome friends. Some people we had asked to be part of the district team accepted our offer, some turned down the opportunity. We feel those that didn t accept a position missed out on the chance to make some wonderful friendships. The friendships Andi and I have made being District Directors throughout the years will last a lifetime. Granted throughout our tenure we have had some rocky roads but in the end, everything worked out. If our new District Director asks for your help, maybe consider taking a position and possibly making a difference in our great Pennsylvanian District. Along with thanking the District team we would like to say a special thank you to all our chapter leaders throughout the GWRRA organization. We would especially like to thank our PA chapters and chapter members for welcoming us at every event we have ever attended. The fun and comradery that is shown in our chapters is without a doubt something special. Your dedication to GWRRA is appreciated.
DISTRICT NEWS cont With our tenure being over please remember the fun will continue with new leadership and new ideas. All I can ask is for you to support the new leadership as you supported us. You can do this by supporting all the programs that the district is involved with. We would like to wish Harold and Diane Jackson all the luck that is possible in their new position as PA District Directors. I know they will give 110% in everything they do. We wish them the best and congratulate them on the new PA District Team they are working on putting together. Thank you again for all the support in our tenure. Hope to see every one of you somewhere soon. Andi and I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and safe and blessed New Year.
