Mr Rock Inclined to overrace rounding the first turn. Pistolero Unable to improve between the 700m and 600m when held up on heels. Laid out rounding the home turn. Weigela Inclined to hang out between the 600m and 400m. Hung out rounding the home turn. Laid out down the straight. RACE 2: F&M Maiden Plate 1305m: Bling n Bubbles Laid out rounding the home turn. Delayed Response Slow to begin. Eased after improving onto heels approaching the 400m. Ran very wide rounding the home turn. Indibelle Slow to begin. Carried wide rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination of the filly did not reveal any abnormality. Luv Our Stratum Bumped and unbalanced on jumping. Overraced approaching and rounding the first turn. Carried wide rounding the home turn. Luvyoulongtime Slow to begin. Laid in down the straight. Queen Beatrice Overraced approaching and rounding the first turn.
2 Schill Rock You Began very awkwardly and bumped another runner. Approaching the 500m was eased after improving onto heels. Sharp Wit Buffeted heavily on jumping. Violet Jane Slow to begin. Near the 900m made a very awkward stride and bumped the running rail when momentarily tightened for room. RACE 3: Class 2 Handicap 1005m: Little Bit of Suzy Bumped on jumping. Ran wide rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to be lame in the near fore leg (2/5). Foreman Mr T. McIntosh was advised that the mare requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to its next race start. My Cousin Steve Pulled in the early stages. Laid in approaching the 100m. Old Trieste Blundered on jumping. Laid in over the final 200m. Tobasco - Bumped on jumping. Usurp Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. Zimzala - Bumped on jumping. Laid out passing the 400m. RACE 4: Benchmark 58 Handicap 1905m Cantillate Carried very wide rounding the first turn. Momentarily eased from heels near the 400m. Kirin s Lad Inclined to overrace in the early stages. Maglev Steadied when tightened for room on jumping. Marlahn When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding jockey P. Romeo stated that his mount established the lead as expected and travelled comfortably. P. Romeo stated that passing the 1000m his mount was challenged for the lead and he allowed it to work forward and maintain the lead whilst still on the bridle. P. Romeo stated that passing the 600m his mount was under full pressure to hold it position and it weakened in its run to the line. P. Romeo added his mount changed legs continually, and was inclined to lay out, throughout the event. When questioned, trainer Mr G. Schwenke advised that he felt the gelding was required to do too much work in the middle stages and feels it needs cheap sectionals throughout this stage so as to work into and sustain a sprint. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality.
3 Sckam (NZ) Bumped and unbalanced on jumping. Terahlee Eased after improving onto heels near the 1300m. Raced in restricted room approaching and passing the 400m. Terrorfilo Slow to begin (3L). Raced wide from the 600m. Laid in down the straight. We re All Ears Ran wide rounding the first turn. RACE 5: Class 1 Handicap 1255m Capitulate Laid out passing the 400m. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding jockey R. Maloney stated that from a wide barrier he rode his mount along in the early stages in an effort to establish a forward position. R. Maloney stated that approaching the 1000m it became apparent his mount was going to be caught wide and he eased to a rearward position to obtain cover near the 800m. R. Maloney stated his mount was under pressure approaching the 600m and failed to make ground on the leaders, which enjoyed moderate sectionals in the early and middle stages, down the straight. R. Maloney stated that his mount was first up today and, surprisingly, raced dour. When questioned, trainer Mr T. Edmonds stated the gelding was first up today under a heavy weight impost. Mr Edmonds stated that he feels the gelding would be better suited racing in a more prominent position over a longer journey. Mr Edmonds added the gelding is a big horse and is of the opinion it would appreciate a larger racing circuit than that today. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality. Cinnamon Missile Laid in approaching the 200m. Lightning Pageant Raced wide in the early stages. Nonchalante Eased when tightened for room shortly after the start. Inclined to overrace in the early and middle stages. Take Time to Chill Bumped on jumping. Pulled in the early stages. RACE 6: Benchmark 66 Handicap 1305m: African Academy Steadied after pulling its was up onto heels approaching the 600m. Blundered shortly after. Bumped approaching and passing the 100m. Go Daddy Go Slow to begin. Overraced approaching the first turn. Carried wider approaching the 400m. Laid in and bumped another runner approaching and passing the 100m.
4 Kitteau Approaching the 200m became held up on heels and was unable to be fully tested for the remainder of the event. Mr Spin Slow to begin. Blundered passing the 400m. She Tells Lies Slow to begin. Wainui Gold (NZ) Blundered on jumping. Wallander Slow to begin. Pulled approaching and rounding the first turn. RACE 7: Class 1 & Maiden Plate 1605m: Baby Back Shak (NZ) Trainer Mr E. Ensby was fined $200 for failing to scratch the gelding by the required time (LR36A). Demon Fault Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Was under full pressure from the 900m and commenced to weaken noticeably after being bumped passing the 500m taking no further competitive part in the event. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding, which was beaten 41.51L, did not reveal any abnormality. Stable representative, Mrs V. McLennan, was advised that the gelding is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next race start. El Teniente Laid out approaching and rounding the first turn. Laid out rounding the home turn and down the straight. Proud Captain Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn. Undaunted Inclined to overrace in the early stages. William Steadied after pulling its way up on to heels passing the 1200m. Swab samples were taken from all winners, Kirin s Lad, Marlahn, Terrorfilo, She Tells Lies and Kitteau.
