Free Golf Scorer Installation: 1 - Download the Cab file from http://users.telenet.be/fgs/downloads/downloads.html 2 - setup a connection between your PC and the phone 3 - copy the Cab-file to your smartphone/pda. (location doesn't matter) 4 - double click the cab file on your phone and follow instructions. 5 - Browse your phone and check the Program Files folder. Find a folder called FGS and open it. Setup FGS: FGS was installed with some sample players, courses and rounds and ready to use. To build your own courses you will need to install the FGS_PCtools. Setup for a game: To prepare for a game you need: the players to be setup in FGS (via Setup/Players) the golf course to be built (using FGS_PCtools) and installed (using ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Center on your PC) the flight to be setup in FGS (via Setup/Flight) Setup players: 1. Select players screen via Setup/Players. 2. Fill in the data and save. 3. Select other menu option to edit or delete a player. 4. Push return to go back to main menu. 5. Repeat to enter other new players. Setup flight for a round: 1. Select Flight menu via Setup/Flight. 2. Select course to play. 3. Select players and the Tee to play from. (Course should be selected first to show Tees) 4. Select playing mode 5. Enable or disable putt count. 6. Enable or disable intermediate Stableford score button. 7. Save Flight setup and push Return button. Change Playing Mode: Use the menu Mode to change the playing mode at the start of a new flight. Changing playing mode in the middle of a game can give unpredictable results. Playing Stableford: 1. Start FGS 2. Setup your flight if different from the default screen. 3. After each hole: - Select first player and enter number of putts and fairway strokes using the arrow keys. Push the red slash in case of too many strokes. (TIP: pushing the red slash again brings back the number indication) Push the green flag to show the intermediate SF score. Push again to remove the intermediate from the screen. - Select next player and enter score. - Increase Hole by pushing the Hole-Up arrow 4. After all holes played save the round by selecting Menu Round/Save. TIP: To reset all score data during a round select Menu/Round/Reset. Page: 4 / 9 28/06/10
Playing Stroke Play: Similar to entering scores for stableford but: no putts to enter intermediate scores for front, back and total round displayed no extra strokes indications Reviewing rounds: 1. Select Menu Rounds/List. 2. Playing Handicap Calculator: The FGS Cab-file automaticly installs an extra utility in the Program Files directory on your smartphone/pda. PHCP Calculator calculates the playing HCP for a player's HCP and for a specific course and selected teebox. It also displays the granted extra strokes per hole. FGS Pctools: Installation: 1 - Download FGS_PCTools.msi from http://users.telenet.be/fgs/downloads/downloads.html to your PC. 2 - Double click the icon and follow the instruction. 3 - By default CourseFormEditor and GolfScoreAnalyser are installed in the Program Files folder in Home directory and shortcuts and are created on your desktop. GolfScoreAnalyser: GolfScoreAnalyser allows you to compare saved rounds on your PC. Comparing round history will show you weak spots in your game and areas for improvement. No intelligent analyzing algorithms are applied, the power of GolfScoreAnalyser is in your own mind. 1. Use ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Center Copy to copy the round files from your smartphone to your PC to the course folder in your FGS_PCTools directory. 2. Open the rounds you want to compare 3. Select what you want to compare from the Show droplist (strokes/putts/extra or PAR) or push the paperclip icon to get the display as shown here left (similar to the round display on your phone).
