Group Exercises: Corridor Evaluations Major and Minor Corridors Participants asked to vote on what they thought the appropriate balance should be between: Road Crossings Bicycle Facilities Motor Vehicle Flow & Speed Pedestrian road crossings Better Motor Vehicle Flow Designated Bike Facilities No Bike Facilities

Major Corridor: East Maple Avenue Balance between Pedestrian Crossings and Motor Vehicle Flow No clear direction for bicycle facilities

Major Corridor: Maple Ave (Downtown) Balance between Pedestrian Crossings and Motor Vehicle Flow Shared Lane Marking

Major Corridor: West Maple Ave Balance between Pedestrian Crossings and Motor Vehicle Flow Parallel Bike Routes

Minor Corridor: W Lincoln Street (Cranbrook to Southfield) Balance between Safer Pedestrian Road Crossings and Motor Vehicle Speeds Balance between Frequent Pedestrian Road Crossings and Motor Vehicle Flow No Clear Direction for Bicycle Facilities

Minor Corridor: Lincoln Street (Southfield to Woodward) Safer Pedestrian Road Crossings More Frequent Pedestrian Road Crossings Keep on-street parking on both sides of streets Shared Lane Markings or Keep as it Currently Exists

Neighborhood Connector Routes Comments noted by more then one group: Improve pedestrian crossing at Woodward Ave and Oak St Crossing needed on W Maple at Rouge Trails Enhance crossing at Woodward Ave and Chapin/Emmons Add full crossing at Woodward Ave and Forest Crossing Improvement needed at Maple and Like Park Drive Need pedestrian bridge in Linn Smith Park over river Provide connection railroad district to connect to new transit and over to Target Like the proposed pathway connection along Woodward Ave between Wimbledon Dr and Oak Ave

Downtown Comments noted by more then one group: 1. W Maple at Park Kill remnants of by-pass 5. Woodward Ave at Forest Dangerous, needs a light 11. Forest at Peabody Fix, make all stop 12. Woodward Ave at Maple Fix crossing, crossing light needs to be longer for pedestrian crossing 14. Park at Oakland Fix Dangerous Intersection 16. Woodward Ave at Maple Pedestrian tunnel or bridge needed

Woodward Corridor Vision for Woodward Balance between Main Street and By-Pass

Woodward Corridor Space Allocation: Narrow Sidewalk Parallel Parking Landscape Buffer Designated Transit Facilities Use of Travel Lane Service Drive with a Bike Lane vs. One-way Cycle Track

Project Vision, Goals and Objectives The purpose is to guide the development of the plan Drawn from Web Survey responses 429 responses Revised by the Project Steering Committee Web Survey provided for one week after workshop to get feedback

Project Vision, Goals and Objectives Survey Results 14 people participated in web survey, 1 person provided written response 2 Disagreements Strongly Agreed: Vision 71% Complete Infrastructure 82% A Connected Community 60% Inclusive Transportation System 67% Concerns of traffic impact, tax implications, priorities, need 3 Disagreements 2 Disagreements 3 Disagreements

Comment Cards Due to the tightly structured meeting, comment cards were available for any additional comments from participants Very concerned about loss of street parking. I live at corner of Lincoln and Pierce and if street parking is lost I could lose all street parking which is needed. Make Lincoln (Woodward to Southfield) bump outs permanent.
