Utah section states that it is presumed that participants in equine or livestock activities are aware of and understand that there are inherent risks associated with these activities. Thus, an equine activity sponsor, equine professional, livestock activity sponsor, or livestock professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant due to the inherent risks associated with these activities. The section also requires an equine professional to give notice to participants of the limitation of liability, either by the posting of a sign or by the execution of a written release. Riders: WT/WJ Classes Can Not Cross Over to WTC/WJL Definitions: Age of Equine for competition purposes is considered to be one year old on the 1 st day of January following the actual date of foaling. Amateur is an individual that has reached his/her 18 th birthday as of January 1 st of the current competition year. An Amateur exhibitor does not receive monies/reimbursement for any type of horse training in any breed or discipline. Trainer/Professional is any person who has the responsibility for the care, training, custody or performance of a horse. And, receives monies for services of training or riding of horses in any breed or discipline. Youth is an individual who is 7 years old to - not reach his/her 18 th birthday as of January 1 st of the current competition year. A Youth exhibitor may NOT show a stallion in hand, or under saddle. Any Youth exhibitor anywhere on the show grounds while riding a horse is required to wear a helmet that is Equestrian ATSM/SEI approved. Green Horse is in its first year of showing at FHC, and should be exhibited by a trainer/professional or experienced handler/rider. i.e., Ride Green Jan 1 2016 - December 31 2016. 1.
