Notice of Race Trailable Yachts CUP January 2019 The Organising Authority will be: RSL Amateur Sailing Club (WASC) in conjunction with Oil Test under the authority of Australian Sailing (AS) Hosted by WASC located at 275 Watkins Road NSW 2267 Australia 1 RULES 1.1 All races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 1.2 The prescriptions and Special Regulations of Australian Sailing (AS) will apply 1.3 Boats participating in the Oil Test Cup will sail in accordance with the Sailing Instructions of the (WASC) Australia Day Regatta 2019 on the 26 th January and the (WASC) Sailing Instructions for Spring Trailer Sailor Series on the 27 th and 28 th January 2 ADVERTISING 2.1 Advertising will be in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20 2.2 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organising authority. 3 ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open to Trailable Yachts. 3.2 Boats intending to race must have of a current AS Category 7 inspection certificate and valid thirdparty liability insurance with a minimum cover of $10,000,000.00 which must remain current at all times whilst racing. A copy of this policy showing details of cover and expiry date along with the AS Category 7 certificate must be forwarded to the Race Secretary prior to competing in the boat s first race. 3.3 Should any competing boat have a person under the age of 18 on board without their parent or guardian, a signed parental consent must be submitted to the RCO no later than 1 hour prior to the scheduled start time. 3.4 Boats intending to race in the regatta must complete the online entry process, https://www.revolutionise.com.au/wangirsl/home/ on the regatta tab or submit the prescribed form and pay the appropriate fee to the Race Secretary, no later than 1 hour prior to the scheduled start time of each race in which they intend to compete. 3.5 Any change or modification to a boats class configuration, including any rig modification, ballast, keel or propeller changes which may affect its performance, must be declared to the handicapper in writing at least 24 hours before the start of the race. 4 CLASSIFICATION,RATINGS, SCHEDULE & FEES 4.1 This Notice of Race covers the WASC Oil Test Cup which includes entry to the acclaimed WASC Australia Day Regatta. The Australia Day Regatta will have its NOR published by mid December, 2018 4.2 Boats will be classified as 4.2.1 STD - class standard 4.2.2 M modified class 4.2.3 OAK one of a kind 4.3 Divisions will be selected if number of entries require multiple starts 4.4 Classes - Where there are 5 or more entries of a class CBH based results will be given 4.5 Handicaps will be CBH Ratings as stated in the Australian Trailable Yacht and Sports Boat Rule 2017. 9 SCORING 9.1 The Low Point System of Appendix A, will apply and will be based on handicap results (corrected time). 9.2 No races will be discarded from the 3 races (A2.1) 10 OVERNIGHT BERTHING, LAUNCHING, CARPARKING AND SUPPORT FACILITIES 10.1 Mooring on the foreshore in the Bay or in protected areas on the lake are available. If you need advice please ring one of the contacts 10.2 Berths on the Workers Club jetty can be arranged direct with the club 10.3 The jetty at the RSL club is only usable by day on the finger 10.4 Launching and Car parking locations are detailed on Attachment 2 10.5 Showers and Toilets are available at the (WASC), F Jetty Rathmines, on the foreshore at, North and South Side 10.6 Food and supplies are available from a number of Restaurants as shown in Attachment 3 11 RADIO COMMUNICATIONS 12 PRIZES Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. Prizes for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd will awarded on corrected times. The prizes will be awarded at the RSL Club after the Monday race is complete and the results produced. 13 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race.
