SPECIAL RULES 1. Read General Rules. All entries and awards within this show will be subject to the General Rules and Regulations published in this Premium Book and the following Special Rules. 2. Premier Breeder. Awarded to the exhibitor accumulating the most points on animals bred by him/her and shown in the classes. Premier Exhibitor. Awarded to the exhibitor accumulating the most points on animals (not to exceed 10) exhibited by him/her in classes. Point Tabulation. a. Awarded with the following point system: first place = 5 points, second place = 4 points, third place = 3 points, fourth place = 2 points and fifth place = 1 point. No points will be given for champions. Points will be awarded for the best six head for Premier Exhibitor. The same scoring system as above will be used for awarding points for the group classes. b. No points for Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Female or Bull. c. Animals owned jointly will be considered a separate exhibitor in Premier Exhibitor tabulations. Leased animals will be considered an entry of the Leasee. d. To be eligible for Premier Breeder the breeder must be an exhibitor in the current show. 35 e. In the event of a tie the number of points shall be divided by the number of animals the points were derived from, and the exhibitor/breeder having the higher point average shall be presented the award. 3. Herdsman. Eastern States Exposition will award a Herdsman s show stick to the Hereford exhibitor showing consideration to fellow exhibitors and Management, representing his/ her cattle and farm to the public in a positive manner as determined by the Beef Show Superintendents. Read General Rules. All entries and awards within this show will be subject to the General Rules and Regulations published in this Premium Book and the following Special Rules. 2. Eligibility. The Junior Hereford Show will be open to any boy or girl 7 years old and not 22 years old by January 1, 2018. Membership in 4-H, FFA, or any other agricultural youth organization is not a requirement to show. Heifers must be registered in the American Hereford Association in the exhibitor s name before June 1, 2018. 4-H leases will be accepted if dated by June 1, 2018. Animals registered in farm, family names, or syndicates are ineligible to show in the Junior show. 3. Birthdates. Heifers in the Junior Show will be born September 1, 2016 and younger. Classes will be broken into seven classes by age of the animals. Any bulls or group classes owned by a Junior exhibitor may only be entered in the Open Show. All Junior exhibitors will abide by regulations as to entry, stabling, health, etc. Junior exhibitors may show in the Open Show. An animal entered in a Junior s name and shown in the Junior Show must be shown in that exhibitor s name in the Open Show. The Junior Show will be comprised of four showmanship classes and seven heifer classes. Showmanship classes will be determined after entries have been processed. 4. Bred and Owned Animals will be acknowledged by pullout following class placing. 5. Junior Show will be blow n go. No paint. No glue.
