Directions: J63 from A1M signposted Chester-Le-Street, and follow signs to Craghead. The show will be signposted from Craghead. Entry Fees: Pre-entries: 8 per class up to 4 th April 2011. Entries on the day: 12 per class. No late postal entries. The following classes are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers, 1,2,6,7,10,11-19. For full rulings and information on competition/qualification, please refer to the CHAPS (UK) Members Handbook; or visit www.chapsuk.com. Rules Where the term Members Handbook is used, this refers to the current CHAPS (UK) Members Handbook plus any relevant updates which may have been issued. 1 This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK). Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete, but in order to qualify they must both be Showing Members and the horse/pony must be Registered with the Society BEFORE this show for the qualification to be valid (except Ponies (UK)/BSPS qualifiers where Membership and Registration, if not already in place, MUST be made within 14 days of qualification for qualification to be valid). See CHAPS Members Handbook or www.chapsuk.com for rulings. The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held on 2 nd -4th September 2011 at Arena (UK), Grantham. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for 2011 CHAPS qualifier card. Ponies (UK) Summer Championships will be held 10 th -13 th Aug 2011. BSPS Winter Champs will be held 22 nd -24th April 2011. 2 Please refer to Members Handbook or www.chapsuk.com for full rulings on all qualifiers. 3 The ruling of Judges and Officials is Final. CHAPS (UK) reserves the right to substitute judges. 4 Full and correct attire must be worn by all competitors and their grooms. This includes a hat or cap. Hard hats must be worn whilst mounted on any part of the Showground. Grooms must wear suitable hats whilst attending in the Ring. All Junior Exhibitors (under 18 years on 1 st January of the current year) MUST wear correctly fitting current safety standard hats. 5 The wearing of ear-rings and body piercings are prohibited as a HSE requirement. 6 The Organisers reserve the right to amalgamate class(es) or ring(s) and to alter any class or ring without explanation. 7 No dogs allowed anywhere on the Showground. 8 No litter to be left on the Showground of car parks. 9 Neither the Organisers, Landowners, Committee or Agents of the Society accept liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land or any person or property whatsoever, whether caused by negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever. 10 No Exhibitor (rider or handler) should knowingly exhibit an animal under a Panel Judge who has owned, bred, produced, leased/loaned, sold or received any financial gain from that exhibit (horse/pony) with exception of ancillary services i.e. Stud fees, group teachings, vet, blacksmith etc. 11 No horse/pony under the age of 4 years may be ridden on the showground. No galloping is allowed on the Showground except as required by the Judge. 12 All ages (rider, handler, horse or pony) are taken as at 1 st January in the year of competition. 13 Any person participating in any way at this Show who conducts themselves in a manner which might bring the Society into disrepute will be asked to leave the Showground. 14 All classes will be as listed below unless otherwise stated: In-hand Classes will be judged 60% conformation, correctness to type and movement; 40% Manners and way of going. Ridden Classes will be judged 50% ride, manners and way of going; 50% type and conformation. Junior Ridden Qualifiers (as per Members Handbook) 60% Ride, Manners, Temperament, Suitability & Partnership; 40% Type and Conformation. 15 Exhibitors shall take good care of, and shall not cause any damage or suffer any damage to be done to the site/showground or to any furniture, fittings, equipment or other property therein and shall be responsible to pay for any damage thereto (including accidental damage) caused by any act or neglect in use. This includes stabling. 16 Horse walks must be adhered to. Pedestrians should not walk in the horse walks. 17 All horses/ponies attending are advised to hold current vaccination certificates. 18 Riders and handlers of colts and stallions must have attained their 14th birthday by 1st January of the current year, or for stallions under 138cms (13.2hh) to have attained their 12th birthday by 1st January of the current year. All colts over 2 years old must be shown bitted. 19 Where stallions are eligible to enter a class, they must be CHAPS Graded. Stallion discs must be worn and they must be handled/ridden by a person of correct age, see members Handbook at www.chapsuk.com. 20 Your signature on the entry form shall be deemed to be acceptance of these Rules and Conditions. 21 No entry will be accepted unless it has been signed. 22 No mucking out of lorries/trailers allowed on Showground. 23 Any complaint must be made in accordance to regulations within the CHAPS (UK) Members Handbook. 24 Entry into any CHAPS (UK) Regional Show is deemed to be acceptance to be bound by CHAPS (UK) Rules. Clashing of Classes: Every endeavour has been made to avoid classes clashing, but if an exhibitor finds the times of their classes overlap, it is suggested permission be obtained from the Steward to give individual shows, ridden or in-hand, early in classes. However, exhibits will not be placed unless present for the final walk round. Classes may not be held up for missing competitors. Exhibitors are reminded to consider clashing of either horse/pony or rider/handler before entering.

Entry Fees: NO entries will be accepted without correct fees. Cheque guarantee number to be written on reverse of cheque(s). No cheques on show days. Entry fee 8 per class. Please be aware of Pre-Show Closing Date (4 th April 2011) for postal, reduced price entries which will be strictly adhered to. Entries will be accepted on the Show Day at 12 per class. Please send an A5 sized SAE with your entries for return of exhibitor number(s). No late entries will be accepted by post: however, entries will be accepted on the Show Day. (Class may be split into age groups if sufficient entries) This class is also a qualifier for the Hollyland Stud Youngstock Final, to be held at the Ponies (UK) Summer 2 The CHAPS (UK) Non-Native Open In-Hand Qualifier. (Class may be split if sufficient entries) Open to Non-Native type exhibits, any height, any age. To be shown plaited and trimmed. This class is also a qualifier for the Clarendon Coloureds In-Hand,Final to be held at the Ponies (UK) Summer 3 Best Colour & Markings Any height. Any age. To be judged colour & markings only. Judges preference. 4 Best Mare/Filly 5 Best Gelding/Stallion/Colt RING TWO 9 AM PROMPT JUDGE: MR C PORTER, BURNLEY, LANCS 6 The CHAPS (UK) Native/Cob/Traditional Youngstock Qualifier; 1, 2 or 3 Year Olds; no foals. (Class may be split into age groups if sufficient entries) This class is also a qualifier for the Hollyland Stud Youngstock Final, to be held at the Ponies (UK) Summer 7 The CHAPS (UK) Native/Cob/Traditional Open In-Hand Qualifier. (Class may be split if sufficient entries) Open to Native, Cob, Show Cob, Traditional, and Vanner types, any height, any age. To be shown in natural state, or fully trimmed and hogged. This class is also a qualifier for the Clarendon Coloureds In-Hand Final to be held at the Ponies (UK) Summer 8 Bonny Pony Exhibits 148cm (14.2hh) and under. Any age. No stallions or colts. 9 Young Handler Exhibitors 16 years and under, exhibits suitable height for age/size of handler, no stallions or colts. 10 The CHAPS (UK) Sportshorse/Pony Qualifier INHAND CHAMPIONSHIP: 1 ST & 2 ND PLACED FROM ALL IN-HAND CLASSES TO COMPETE ON COMPLETION OF CLASSES 1-10. CHAMPION & RESERVE SASHES ****BREAK****

RINGS ONE & TWO COMBINED JUDGES MISS J NUTTALL (RIDE) & MR C PORTER (CONF) 11 Lead Rein/First Ridden, LR 3-8yrs, exhibits not to exc 122cms (12hh); FR 10yrs & under, exhibits not to exc 128cms (12.2hh). (Class may be split into lead rein and first ridden if sufficient entries) Competitors will not be expected to canter in qualifiers. No Stallions allowed. For Lead Rein ponies the lead must be attached directly to the pony s noseband; the rein must go directly from the bit to the rider s hand with no extra aid or attachment to or/on the saddle; handles on saddles are not permitted. Snaffle bridles only. FR will be expected to canter at the Championship Finals. 12 Coloured Contacts Junior Ridden CHAPS (UK) Qualifier, not exc 153cms. Open to any type of exhibit. The class will be judged as one section; however FOUR qualifiers will be awarded to the highest placed non-native and native type exhibits not exceeding 138cm (riders to be 14 years or under); and to the highest placed non-native and native type exhibits not exceeding 153cm (riders under 18 years). Class to include a cross pole fence. 13 My Little Nutmeg Novice Ridden Pony Qualifier Ponies not to have been placed 1 st in an Open ridden class before 1 st January 2011. Non-native exhibits not exc 153cms; Nat/Cob/Trad exhibits not exc 148cms. One of each type will qualify. Any suitable bridle. 14 Back To Black Novice Ridden Horse Qualifier Horses not to have been placed 1 st in an Open ridden class before 1 st January 2011. Non-native exhibits exc 153cms; Nat/Cob/Trad exhibits exc 148cms. One of each type will qualify. Any suitable bridle. 15 CHAPS FACTOR QUALIFIER Open to competitors and exhibits (CHAPS Registered and Showing Member owned/ridden) who have not previously qualified for HOYS or been placed in the top 3 in any CHAPS (UK) Ridden Final (excluding LR and FR). In each qualifier FOUR animals will qualify, the two highest placed exhibits up to & inc 138cms, and the two highest placed exhibits exc 138cm. CHAPS (UK) SUMMER QUALIFYING CLASSES INCORPORATING BSPS WINTER QUALIFIERS 16 The CHAPS (UK) Native/Cob/Traditional Ridden Horse Qualifier, exc 148cms (14.2hh) Open to Native, Cob, Show Cob, Traditional, and Vanner type horses exceeding 14.2hh (148cms), 4 years old or over. Riders any age but suitable for the height of exhibit. To be ridden by the Judge or the Judge s Representative. To be shown in natural state or fully trimmed and hogged. 17 The CHAPS (UK) Non-Native Ridden Horse Qualifier, exc 153cms (15hh). Open to Non-Native type horses exceeding 15hh (153cms), 4 years old or over. Riders any age, but must be suitable for the size of exhibit. To be ridden by the Judge or Judge s Representative. To be shown plaited and trimmed. 18 The CHAPS (UK) Native/Cob/Traditional Ridden Pony Qualifier, not exc 148cms (14.2hh) Open to Native, Cob, Show Cob and Traditional type ponies not exceeding 14.2hh (148cms), 4 years old or over. Riders any age but suitable for the height of exhibit. Exhibits will be required to perform an individual show and will not be ridden by the Judge. Lead Rein exhibits are not eligible for this class. To be shown in natural state or fully trimmed and hogged. 19 The CHAPS (UK) Non-Native Ridden Pony Qualifier, not exc 153cms (15hh) Open to Non-Native type ponies not exceeding 15hh (153cms), 4 years old or over. Riders any age but suitable for the height of exhibit. Exhibits will be required to perform an individual show and will not be ridden by the Judge. Lead Rein exhibits are not eligible for this class. To be shown plaited and trimmed.
