In addition, the entire meet will be USA Swimming approved for achievement of USA Swimming time standards (U.S. National Championships and Age Group Top 10). This competition will satisfy the Championship Meet requirement for YMCA Nationals. Middle Tyger YMCA 720 Shoals Road Duncan, SC 29334 (864) 433 9623 The Middle Tyger YMCA Pool has twenty (20) 25 yard lanes. The water depth of the competition course is six (6) feet measured from one (1) meter to five (5) meters at the starting end of the course and four (4) feet measured from one (1) meter to five (5) meters at the turn end of the course). The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(5). The copy of certification is on file with USA Swimming. Pool is bottom striped, wall targeted, has non turbulent lane lines, a fully automatic Colorado Timing System with backup and a 12 line scoreboard. Up to 12 lanes will be used for competition, and course set up will be determined based on the number of entries. Continuous warm up / warm down area is available. Parking will be available in the Middle Tyger Parking lot. Additional parking designed for special events has been added, and swim meet participants are encouraged to park in this area. Spectators will be limited to areas designated. Bleacher seating will be available. Spectators may bring chairs, but the chairs cannot be used to reserve seats between sessions and may not be placed in front of the bleachers. All other areas will be considered the deck, on which only swimmers, officials, coaches and meet personnel are allowed. Rules: Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas, and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present. The Meet is to be conducted in accordance with the current USA Swimming and SC Swimming Rules and Regulations, National YMCA Rules and information herein. YSSC welcomes all swimmers with disabilities as described in the USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, Article 105, to participate in our meets. Coaches entering swimmers with disabilities that require any accommodations are required to provide advance notice in writing to the meet director by the entry deadline accompanying their meet entry file, including the need for any personal assistants required and/or registered service animals. Failure to provide advance notice may limit YSSC s ability to accommodate all requests. Athlete Eligibility: Swimmers 10 years old and younger are not permitted to wear Technical suits at this meet. All individual participants must have a full privilege membership at their local YMCA and must have represented only that YMCA for a period of 90 days prior to the first day of the meet (high school competition excepted) to be eligible. Each participant must have competed in at least three (3) inter association (closed YMCA) meets since Sept. 1, 2017. Each participant must have met the minimum time standard requirement in each event entered and meet all other eligibility requirements prior to the meet entry deadline as noted under Classification. Each team entered must have completed the annual online YMCA team registration (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, & Tennessee). Teams outside the region may participate under the terms of the Classification section of the meet information.

Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. CLASSIFICATION: This meet is a closed YMCA meet. Swimmers must have achieved the 2018 USRY time standard in each event entered and meet all other eligibility requirements. Swimmers from out of the region may compete in the meet but must have the out of region time standard in each event entered and must meet all other eligibility requirements. Swimmers will compete their age as of March 15, 2018. The age groups for competition will be: 10 & Under, 11/12, 13/14, and Senior. Coaches, only USAS registered swimmers should have their USAS ID in the entry file. Entry Fees: Entry Fees: $3.50 per individual event $10.00 per swimmer facility surcharge $2.00 per swimmer SCLSC Travel Fund/Program Fee $2.00 per swimmer SCLSC Sports Development Fee $2.00 per swimmer Out of State SCLSC Travel Fund/Program Fee $8.00 per relay event Time Trials: $10.00 per individual time trial $25.00 per relay time trial. Checks should be made payable to Y Spartaquatics Swim Club. Entry Limits: Meet Format: No refunds will be given. 13 14 and Senior Swimmers will be allowed to compete in a maximum of eight (8) individual events and four (4) relay events during the meet with a limit of a maximum of 3 individual events in one day. 12 & Under swimmers will be allowed to compete in a maximum of nine (9) individual events for the meet with a limit of a maximum of 4 individual events in one day. Any swimmer who is 12 & Under and chooses to compete in a Senior event must meet the Senior time standard for the event and will be permitted to compete in a maximum of three (3) individual events on any day in which they compete in a Senior event. The meet host and the Upper Southeast Region may refuse entries from outside of the Region to keep the time line for each session at a manageable size. Teams shall be limited to only one scoring relay team for each relay event. Teams may enter unlimited relay teams in a relay event, but only the highest placing team shall score points. Distance events (400 yards and longer) may be seeded together (gender and age) and scored separately per rule 102.1.4. All swimmers entered in events 400 yards and longer are required to provide their own timer and counter if they desire one. A swimmer who misses their assigned heat will not be entered into another heat unless circumstances are beyond the swimmer s control as determined by the Meet Referee and the swimmer may be allowed to swim. Time Trials Each team is requested to help supply timers for each session of the meet. The number of timers from each team should be commensurate with the number of swimmers competing from that team. Time Trials may be offered at the conclusion of any session at the discretion of the meet referee. Time Trial participants must be entered in the meet. Time Trials will count against the daily total entry limit but NOT count toward the total meet individual entry limits stated in the Entry Limits section above. Time Trial fees are listed above in the Entry Fee section. All USA Swimming rules will apply to Time Trials.

Swimmers who horseplay in the warmdown pool may be asked to get out of the pool and may be disqualified from the remainder of their events for the meet. All express or overnight entries must be sent with a signature waiver. No faxed entries will be accepted. 2. All entry times must be short course yards. If a coach has a Lifeguard certification, he/she must also pass the online Safety Training for Swim Coaches test. Coaches wishing to be on deck in a coaching capacity must have registered online with the YMCA of the USA. When checking in at the meet, Coaches must present their current 2018 YMCA Coach s credential/deck pass as issued (or USA-Swimming credential/deck pass with Principles of YMCA Swim & Dive noted on the card). Other Information: Coaches must present their credentials to receive their coaching packet and must have their credentials visible at all times. There will be a Coaches Meeting at 15 minutes prior to the start of the morning session on Friday. Each team should have one representative coach present for this meeting. 1. This competition is open to any YMCA swimmer that meets the eligibility requirements and the respective time standards for events entered. 2. Competition for 13 and older swimmers shall consist of a preliminaries session and a finals session for all events except the relays, the 1000 yd. Freestyle and 1650 yd. Freestyle. The 13/14 and senior age groups will be combined as noted in the preliminary sessions and swum separately during the finals sessions. The finals session shall include a championship heat and a consolation heat for all 13/14 and senior events. Those swimmers placing 1st 12 th in the preliminary heats of each event shall swim in the championship final for that event. Those swimmers placing 13th 24th in the preliminary heats of each event shall swim in the consolation final. The consolation heat shall precede the championship heat. The exceptions for the 1000 and 1650 yd. Freestyle events are noted below. 3. Competition for 12 and under swimmers will consist of timed finals. 4. All senior events will be pre seeded except for the 500 Freestyle, 1000 Freestyle, 1650 Freestyle and 400 IM. A positive check in will be required for these deck seeded events. 5. Each team may enter unlimited relay teams per relay event but only the highest placing relay team from each YMCA team will score points. All relays will be swum as timed finals. On Friday and Saturday, the 13/14 and Senior 200 Free & 200 Medley relays will be contested during finals. On Saturday, the top twelve seeded 13 14 & Senior 400 Free relays will swim in finals, all others will swim in prelims. On Sunday, ALL 13/14 and senior relays will be swum during the preliminary session. 6. The Senior 1650 yd. Freestyle is a timed final event. It will be limited to the fastest thirty six (36) female entrants and the fastest thirty six (36) male entrants. All swimmers entering the 1650 Freestyle must submit proof of time with their entry. Swimmers will have the option to swim the 1650 in the AM or PM session. The fastest heat of 12 women selecting the PM session and the fastest heat of 12 men selecting the PM session will be contested in the finals session on Sunday. The remaining heats will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating girls then boys, as the last preliminary event on Sunday, following relays. A positive check in will be required prior to 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. Heats will be posted by 9:00 a.m. 7. The Senior 1000 yd. Freestyle is a timed final event. It will be limited to the fastest thirty six (36) female entrants and the fastest thirty six (36) male entrants. All swimmers entering the 1000 Freestyle must submit proof of time with their entry. The event will be contested fastest to slowest, alternating girls then boys as a timed final event on THURSDAY. A positive check in will be required prior to 4:30 p.m. on THURSDAY. Heats will be posted by 4:45 pm. 8. The Senior 500 yd. Freestyle and 400 IM will be prelim/final events and will require positive check in. The event will be seeded fast to slow. 9. The meet referee reserves the right to combine heats where possible.

10. The 12 & Under 500 Free and 11 12 400 IM will be positive check in events and will be deck seeded. These events will be contested fastest to slowest alternating girls then boys. 11. The meet host reserves the right to adjust the warm up & start times of each session as needed for meet management. Swimmers will have thirty minutes to declare their intention to scratch from an event following the announcement and posting of the preliminary results. Failure to compete in a Championship or Consolation final shall disqualify the competitor from further competition in the meet. Previous performances will not be nullified. Failure to compete in an event that has been positively checked in will result in the swimmer being scratched from his/her next individual event. An athlete may also withdraw from a preliminary heat or swim-off by electing to take a declared false start. Such declaration must be made known to the Deck Referee before the heat or swim off is announced. A declared false start counts as an event swum for the athlete and will be counted in the maximum number of events allowed for each athlete. Officials: The Y Spartaquatics YMCA Swim Team welcomes the participation of parent volunteers who are currently certified as USA Swimming and/or YMCA certified officials. If any of your parent officials would be interested in helping with the meet, please include names with your entries or contact Eddie Hughes, the Meet Referee at cehughes@spinxco.com. There will be an Officials meeting beginning one (1) hour prior to the start of each session.
