Who: Girl Scouts of all ages, their troops and families When: Sunday, February 3, 2019. The game time is - 2 p.m.* How: Register by visiting https://gshom.eventsmart.com Cost: Registration Fee: $5 per person/$7 GSHOM non-member Patch Fee: $3 per patch T-Shirt Fee: $15 per shirt Registration Deadline: Monday, January 28 th, 2019 *Note: If you miss the registration deadline, tickets may be purchased from the Girls Scouts Heart of Michigan Lansing Regional Center for $7 each while supplies last. Call (517) 699-9400. Tickets: 1. Tickets can be picked up at the Lansing Regional Center at Camp Wacousta, 13287 Wacousta Road, Grand Ledge, MI, 48837, on Tuesday, January 29 th, from 10-7 p.m.; Wednesday, January 30 th, and Thursday, January 31 st, from 10-5 p.m.; and Friday, February 1 st, from 10-6 p.m. 2. Tickets may also be picked up the day of the event outside of will call. Pompoms and other giveaways are only available to those who register through GSHOM. There will be no refunds for this event. Cheer Off T-Shirts and Patches Cost: $15 each for Youth Adult 4XL T-Shirts $3 each for Patches Order Deadline: January 6 th, 2019 (T-shirts will be available in a limited quantity at the event for an increased price.) 2019 Cheer Off Service Project: This year, we are helping out local schools by donating new winter clothing items. Please bring warm clothing items to help support local families in need. Suggested items include hats, gloves, scarves, mittens, jackets, etc. Cheer Off and MSU Women s Basketball Program Aides Training Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors in need of leadership hours or who want to have a fun time helping out are needed to work as event aides. Program Aides will be assigned to different stations, which may include donation collections, distribution of pompoms, working the registration area, or leading the younger participants through activities. EVENT REMINDERS 1. Bring posters with you when you arrive at the Breslin Center with your troop. NOTE: There will not be any early drop off. All posters must be checked in at poster station by 12:30 p.m. in order to be judged. 2. Cheering contestants must check in at 12:00 p.m. to participate and be judged. Judging will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. 3. Photos may be taken outdoors anytime or after the game in the concourse area. 4. Leaders need to provide supervision for the girls. 5. There will be a list of activities available at the Check-In Registration Table provided for you by the Cheer Off Committee members. 6. This is a great event for family members and friends. They are welcome to attend the game; however, they do need to register for the event. 7. All troops not participating in contests must arrive by the designated time (12:00 p.m.) to register and receive giveaways. 8. Girl Scouts always leave a place cleaner than they found it! Don t forget to pick up your trash. 9. And remember have fun!!! POSTER CONTEST DAISY/BROWNIE/JUNIOR 1. Use lightweight materials such as a bed sheet, poster board, or rolled paper (as the poster will be hung in the Breslin Center). Only posters made with these items will be accepted for judging. 2. All posters must be easily transportable, such as folded or rolled. 3. Posters must have your troop number, age level and city you are from in the lower righthand corner. The size of the information should be a minimum of 8 ½ x 11. Only posters containing this information will be accepted for judging. 4. One entry per troop/group. 5. Posters must be completely designed and made by the girls. 6. Posters will be judged on a scale of 1-10 for each of the following criteria: Incorporation of Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Incorporation of Girl Scout Cookies Incorporation of MSU Incorporation of Women s Basketball Overall creativity 7. A first, second, and third place winner will be selected from each of the three levels. A photographer will be present and may post pictures on the GSHOM website and/or GSHOM social media. 8. Poster size may be any width but must be no more than 8 high. Remember, they will be hanging up high in the Breslin Center so small lettering and detail will not be seen! 9. All judging is done by the MSU Cheerleaders. (Judges decisions are final.)

CHEERING CONTEST BROWNIES/JUNIORS 1. Good sportsmanship is expected. 2. Use your imagination. Clapping, stomping and hand motions with pompoms are allowed. Judging will be done one troop at a time. FOR SAFETY NO PYRAMIDS, MOUNTS, JUMPING OR TUMBLING ALLOWED. Hopping is acceptable. 3. CHEERS WILL BE TIMED, NOT TO EXCEED 60 SECONDS. 4. NO RECORDED MUSIC ALLOWED. 5. One entry per troop/group. 6. The Breslin Center has requested that troops practice their cheers in only one designated area. Troops will be allowed to practice in the Breslin Center ONE time. Troops caught practicing more than once or anywhere outside the designated practice area will be automatically disqualified. 7. Cheers will be judged on a scale of 1-10 on each of the following criteria: Incorporation of Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan Incorporation of Girl Scout Cookies Incorporation of MSU Incorporation of Women s Basketball Creativity Volume Clarity Appearance & Coordination 8. A photographer will be present to videotape and take photos of each cheer. They may post videos on the GSHOM website and/or GSHOM social media. 9. NO COSTUMES OR SPECIALLY DESIGNED OUTFITS ARE ALLOWED. Event t-shirts, Girl Scout uniforms, other Girl Scout shirts, and green and white clothing are acceptable, but not required. 10. All judging will be done by MSU Cheerleaders. (Judges decisions are final.) 11. POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FOR CHEERS LASTING LONGER THAN 60 SECONDS; WEARING COSTUMES; AND FOR INCLUDING MOUNTS, JUMPS, OR STUNTS.

Troops from the Lansing region will be given the opportunity to sell Girl Scout Cookies at the annual Cheer Off event on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Four troops, Juniors through Ambassadors, will be selected by a random drawing to work at the Cookie Booth. Each troop will be assigned a one-hour time slot (TBD) [subject to change]) to sell cookies. After the event, the cookie sales will be tallied and each troop will receive 25% of the total proceeds. GSHOM will issue checks for the proceeds, which will be mailed to the participating troops. Interested troops must submit a completed entry form by Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. The selected troops will be notified and assigned a time slot by Tuesday, January 29, 2019, by a Product Program Specialist by phone or email. NOTE: If a troop is selected for a cookie booth, the troop cannot be part of the Cheering or Poster contest due to conflicting times.
