Eligibility The event includes both Open and British Championship categories. Eligibility for the British Championship is governed by the UK Athletics (UKA) rules on National eligibility. All senior athletes eligible to represent GBR qualify for prizes and points in the British Athletics Mountain Running Challenge (BA MR Challenge). See the document British Athletics Fell Running Championship on the British Athletics web site (www.uka.org.uk/competitions/mountain-running/) for further details. Safety (VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ) All competitors must bring waterproof full-body cover, hat and gloves and must be prepared to carry them. The Race Organiser will make a decision as to exactly what kit should be carried on the day. This information will be available at registration. The races finish high up on an exposed mountain and the only protection you will have from the elements is the gear you carry (unfortunately the organisers are unable to transport kit to the summit). Failure to comply with any minimum kit rule will result in disqualification. Any athlete who retires from the race must inform a race marshal, and report to Race HQ. Athletes are responsible for making their own way back down the mountain after the finish. You must only descend in pairs or groups, via the race route. The route from the summit back to Fitz Park is approximately 8km. Having started the event athletes must report back to Race HQ when they have descended the mountain. Facilities The event HQ and registration is at the Football Pavilion in Fitz Park, where changing facilities and toilets are available. There is no designated event parking, but there is free and pay & display public parking within five minutes walk of Fitz Park. See the map on page 4 for location details. Snacks and beverages will be available all day in the Football Pavilion, and soup and basic refreshments will be provided at no additional charge to athletes and race officials. Awards Eligible finishers will receive awards as follows:- The first three eligible senior finishers will receive British Athletics medals. The first five eligible senior finishers will receive a money prize from the BA MR Challenge Fund. The first 50 eligible senior finishers will receive points towards the BA MR Challenge Series.
