February Newsletter Presidents Report Hi Everyone, Welcome to the first Gidge Pony Club newsletter for 2019. Firstly I would like to say how lovely it was to see so many of our members at the AGM, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing evening. Congratulations to those who received trophies and awards for their efforts in 2018. Planning is underway for a great 2019 season with Di Colley taking up the positions of chief coach and Rally organizer, she has been organising coaches and putting together some great rally plans for the coming year. I would like to say a very sincere thank you to the outgoing GHPC committee members who put so much of their time into the club over the years and also welcome to our new committee members for 2019. The committee works very hard behind the scenes keeping abreast of all the governance, insurance, affiliation and financial requirements that keep our club running smoothly and efficiently. A special thanks must go out to Morgan Holmes who will not be at Gidge this year, Morgan has been a committee member for a number of years, she has taken on the roles of secretary and rally coordinator for several year and has always been on hand to help out at the CNC and all activities run by the club, Morgan and Georgia will be sorely missed and we wish them well for the future. With many of our previous members re-joining in 2019, we are lucky enough to have some room to welcome a good number of new members to the club. It will be wonderful to have these new members with us, please make them welcome in true Gidge Horse and Pony Club style. Our first two rallies, February 3 th and March 10 th will be early starts with a 7am meeting followed by set up. Please, Please, Please be on time for the meeting and set up so the day can get started on time with arenas ready to go by 8am. We are lucky enough to have Bron Gibson put up her hand to be canteen Manager this year, which is fantastic so lunches at rallies are back on the menu. Many thanks to Bron for taking on this role. We will be holding a busy bee on Sat 16 th of February to get our Cross Country Course up to scratch for the coming year. The busy bee will be from 8am to 10am and we need as many members as possible armed with whipper snippers and rakes to whipper snip around XC obstacles and rake take offs and landings. The club will put on a Morning Tea for wonderful willing helpers. Look forward to seeing you all very soon Cheers, Jan

Points of importance for the February rally 7am meeting followed by set up, lessons will begin at 8am Roster allocation will happen at this rally, please see Liz Colley to arrange your rosters. Please ensure that you sign the Sign In sheet that will be posted on the board outside the canteen. It is important to remember to sign in as that sheet is a record of your attendance for the year and proof of 3 rally participation for any state championships. Please make sure that you have renewed your PCWA memberships before the rally. All members under 18 need a registered adult supporter in order to be covered by PCWA Insurance. You can renew on the My Pony Platform. If you need any assistance please contact Cathy on 0487 187 017 or gidgepctreasurer@outlook.com

Rally Set-Up/ Pack- Away duties: News and Information To ensure that our rallies start and finish on time it is very important that all members and their supporters participate in morning set up and afternoon pack away. Duties are done by the groups as listed by our rally coordinator. This list will always be put on the board of the canteen. Rosters: As a member of this club every family is expected to do their 5 allocated rosters across the year. It is essential that you fulfil your commitment to the club and complete your required rosters. If you cannot make your roster duty please ensure that you organise a person who can do the roster on your behalf. It essential that the person you send has appropriate skills to complete the roster. If you do need to send another person to complete your roster please let Liz Colley know. liz_calabresse@hotmail.com 0432098445 Successful examinations: Well done to Gidge club members Eloise Trolove and Gabby Lumsden for recently passing their certificate examinations.
