USA DANCE 2017 CHICAGO DANCESPORT CHALLENGE National Qualifying Event Friday to Sunday, October 27 to October 29, 2017 An amateur-only competition sanctioned by USA Dance Inc. COMPETITION INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES The Chicagoland Chapter #2001 of USA Dance looks forward to hosting you at the USA Dance 2017 Chicago DanceSport Challenge National Qualifying Event on Friday to Sunday, October 27 to October 29, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency O Hare, 9300 West Bryn Mawr Ave., Rosemont, IL 60018. The Hyatt Regency O Hare offers a large ballroom with a 44 x 72 floor and two separate wooden practice floors, one 30 x 60 and another 25 x 25. We invite DanceSport athletes from all over the US to compete and all those who love ballroom dancing to come watch the competition and enjoy the Friday and Saturday evening Jack N Jill fun events open to everyone, and social dancing between events. This is a recognized and sanctioned USA Dance competition; competitors will be eligible to earn proficiency points. TEACHER-STUDENT EVENTS A Teacher-Student event consists of a DanceSport Athlete and a Teacher partner. The Teacher partner may be male or female, regardless of the sex of the DanceSport Athlete. The Teacher must be a registered Professional Athlete or a DanceSport Athlete. This will add lots of fun to the competition, so dancers are encouraged to bring their instructors. Our competition is less expensive than typical Pro-Am events, plus we have more fun. WDSF EVENTS We are excited to again offer registrants the opportunity to compete in WDSF events. SAME-SEX EVENTS A Same-Sex couple is comprised of either a male/male partnership or female/female partnership of DanceSport Athletes. SCHOLARSHIPS We anticipate awarding scholarships in Junior, Youth, Adult, and Senior events including our Twelfth Annual Fun Formation Team Championship (non-sanctioned). Check for scholarships and final schedule of events two weeks prior to competition at http://www.usadancechicago.org/r2competition2017.html and/or www.o2cm.com. A TOP STUDIO AWARD will be given to the Studio with the most points based on advance purchases of competitor entries, formation team entries, spectator tickets, competition program ads and perimeter floor signs. Register and purchase tickets referencing the studio s name.
