The City of The Colony has had some recent construction in the area that could impact travel for guests to games this year. We are asking our guests to follow the following route to The Colony for games and the same reverse route home. This should minimize disruption for our guests. Here is the best route for travel A. Off of Sam Rayburn Tollway, exit the Paige Road Exit to The Colony. At Paige Road, turn left (North) and proceed. B. Keep traveling North until you reach South Colony Blvd. Turn Left (West) onto South Colony Blvd. and proceed. C. Travel West on South Colony Blvd. until you reach Blair Oaks Dr. Turn left (South) onto Blair Oaks and proceed. D. You will travel on Blair Oaks until you see The Colony High School. Once past the school, to the left you will see the Five Star Parking Lot, and will follow directions alluded to in the packet.
**Visitors will park in the Five Star City Park, which is located on Blair Oaks, just East of the Stadium.
The Colony High School Athletic Department General Information Guide Home football games of The Colony High School are played at Tommy Briggs Cougar Stadium. The Stadium is located on the campus of The Colony High School. The address is 4301 Blair Oaks, The Colony, TX, 75056. Map of School/City http://goo.gl/maps/nvsql The playing field at Tommy Briggs Cougar Stadium is Field Turf. Please be aware of the specific Tommy Briggs Cougar Stadium policies listed separately from the information listed here. The home students and band will occupy the southwest sections on the west side of field. Visiting student and band will occupy the southwest sections located on the east side of the field. Student tickets may be purchased at each teams respective home school. Visiting students and parents will not permitted on the home side of the stadium. Home spectators will only occupy the home side and will not be allowed on the visiting side. Visiting band and cheerleaders may enter the southeast gate on the east side of the field and occupy the seat in the southeast section. The press box is located on the top of the west stands and may be reached by entering the northwest gate. There are two radio broadcast booths which are located on the lower floor of the press box. Visiting team school buses should unload at the southeast gate and park in the baseball parking lot south of the stadium. All visiting teams will enter the stadium at the southeast gate by the baseball dressing rooms. The team bus should be parked inside the fence, behind the baseball dressing rooms. Visitor team will use the baseball dressing room. The visitors sideline is the east side of the playing field.
Tommy Briggs Cougar Stadium Policies and Procedures Visiting bands, drill teams, cheerleaders, or spirit teams are NOT ALLOWED PRE-GAME PRACTICE on the playing field the day of the game. District 5-AAAAA Pre-game Agenda o 5:40- Team Warm Up o 6:40- Teams Leave the Field o 6:42- Student Council Presentation o 6:42- Officials and Coaches Coin Toss o 6:43-6:55- All Introductions to occur o 6:47- Visitor School Song Home School Song o 6:55 - Teams Return to the Field o 6:56 - Mock Coin Toss o 6:57- National Anthem o 7:00- Kickoff Stadium Regulations: Ticket Gates o Ticket gates will be open 1 hour prior to game time. There are in and out privileges. Re-Entry requires the purchase of a new ticket. Press box o Press box will be open 1 hour prior to game time. Admittance to press box is by PASS ONLY. All passes are acquired in advance from the district athletic office or reserved for pick up at the pass gate. Radio/Press must call in advance to have passes waiting at pass gate. Both teams will line up on the field for the National Anthem at 6:58. All uniformed student groups (band, Drill team, and spirit squads), and adult sponsors traveling with the groups, shall be admitted free whether or not they perform on the field. The only signs permitted in the stadium are vinyl or non-soluble latex paint on paper run through signs held by students in uniform. No air horns or mechanical noisemakers are permitted in the stands. Confetti, balloons, paper signs/banners, or similar items are not permitted in the stadium. TCHS flags will be posted at the top of the bleachers and are not to be removed. No other flags are allowed on the visitor side. Taping of signs or other items to any stadium structure will not be permitted. Vinyl signs may be tied to the stadium rail. Objects are not to be thrown from the stands.
No students or adults shall be permitted on the playing field, sidelines or track surface surrounding the field prior to, during, or after the game, except those in the uniform, engaged with the game or half-time activities or other authorized personnel. No lines may be formed inside with stadium by students or adults prior to, during, or after the game. Absolutely no glass bottles, food, gum, sunflower seeds, or tobacco are allowed on the field. Outside beverages or food of any kind are prohibited. Tobacco or alcohol is not permitted in the stadium or on school grounds per Texas State Law. E- cigarettes are also prohibited. There is ABSOLUTELY NO CROSSOVER by spectators from the home side of stadium to the visitor side or vice versa. For special equipment or band props to be used on the field, make arrangements with the Athletic Director prior to the game/event. Athletic office phone number 469-948-2559 or 469-948-2560. The clock will be set for 14 minutes for each half-time performance, and shall begin as soon as both teams clear the field. The visiting school half-time participants MUST BE CLEAR OF THE FIELD WHEN THE CLOCK READS 0:00. Time for the home team to begin their 14 minutes starts when the visiting band is clear of the field. The home participants MUST THEN BE CLEAR OF THE FIELD WHEN THE CLOCK READS 0:00. Halftime shall be twenty-four (24) minutes in length when one or both bands and/or drill team do not perform. Teams shall have two (2) minutes to reassemble before the start of the second half. Neither team will be permitted to use cannons, fireworks, other pyrotechnics, live animal mascots, or other noise that would interfere with the orderly conduct of the game. No visitors are allowed to report to the press box for half-time performances until there is under 1 minute remaining in the 2 nd quarter.
LISD Inclement Weather Policy: Evacuation Plan: o TCHS athletes will evacuate to their respective locker rooms o Opposing teams will evacuate to their respective locker rooms or to the indoor facility o Fans should evacuate to their vehicles or to the main school building o Visitors will walk out the North end of the stands and follow the path by the indoor facility, up the walk, and to the stairs into the big gym. o Home side will exit the stadium and walk to the building by the softball field. They will enter by the PAC and proceed to the cafeteria.
