MESURING INSTRUCTIONS LL LINER PRICES RE QUOTED SED ON THE CCURTE MESUREMENTS YOU PROVIDE ND THE PTTERN YOU SELECT. Please read all instructions EFORE you begin measuring. IMPORTNT void Common Measuring Errors Draining your pool is not required. Most measurements can be taken from outside of the pool. Measuring your pool will be much easier if you have another person helping you. Write your measurements clearly and legibly, using LCK INK. 6385 150th ve. N. Clearwater, FL 33760 1-877-747-7946 Fax: 1-888-858-7946 ctual pool measurements are required even if original pool plans are available. Slight variances may have occurred during construction. The builder may not have followed the pool plan precisely. When measuring the pool, do not make allowances for weather conditions, temperature, or the fact that vinyl shrinks and expands. These adjustments are made when the new liner is engineered. There are no standard pools. Please accurately measure your pool for an exact fit. Follow these step-by-step instructions carefully, referring to all diagrams to ensure accurate measurements. Please supply all measurements in feet and inches. Round your measurements up to the nearest whole inch. Remember to record LL of your measurements on PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM. Transfer any measurements you may have made on the this form onto the actual MESURING FORM. Remember to include your name, address, phone and fax numbers, and email address on each page that you send to us. You must also sign PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM before we can begin estimating your liner. Make copies of all forms for your records EFORE sending them to us. Step #3: Corner Type Select the corner type on your pool from the diagrams below and record the type and measurements on PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM. If you have more than 1 type of corner on your pool (such as with a Lazy L pool), please include a sketch of your pool indicating each corner type and the appropriate measurements along with your standard measurement form. 90 DEGREE CORNERS (Square) No additional measurements are required. Select 90 Degree Corner on PGE 1 of the MESURING form. 90 Corner RDIUS (ROUNDED) CORNERS Radius corners must be squared before measuring. Use straight edges to form an imaginary Square corner, mark where the edges meet as Point 1. Measure from imaginary corner (Point 1) to Point. Imaginary lines 1 Record these measurements for RDIUS CORNERS on PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM: Point 1 to Point : Point 1 = Imaginary Corner where side-walls would meet if they extended to make a square corner. Point = reak in the Curve of the Corner. CUT CORNERS (Diagonal) Cut corners must be measured as indicated below. 1 Record this measurement for CUT CORNERS on PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM: Point 1 to Point : Step #4: Measure the Length () and the Width () Refer to the illustration of your pool that you selected in STEP #. e sure that the length () and the width () measurements are made at the ED RECEIVER (where the liner snaps into the track), NOT at the edge of the coping (the edge of the pool deck). Record your measurements in the MESUREMENTS section of PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM. Note: If your pool is an "L" or "Lazy L" Shape, take LL measurements for "" and "", including 1,, 3, 4, 1 and. Pool Deck Measure from here OR Measure from here IMPORTNT! DO NOT take measurements from the coping Measurements should be taken from the ED RECEIVER Step #5: Measure Diagonals Rectangle and "Lazy L" Pools Only If your pool is not a rectangle or a "Lazy L," proceed to Step #6. For a RECTNGLE pool, you will need to measure the pool on the diagonals (R and Q). For a "Lazy L" pool, you will need to make sets of diagonal measurements: (Z1, Z) and (Z3, Z4). Remember to make all of these measurements from the ED RECEIVER, not the coping (refer to the illustration in STEP #4.) Refer to the diagram of your pool shape in STEP #: POOL SHPES to locate the diagonals. The diagonals are often overlooked, but they are important because few pools are perfectly square. They can be a substantial difference end-to-end in a pool, and that needs to be noted if a liner is to fit properly. (The Computer ided Design System that engineers your liner can adjust for out of square pools.) MESURE DIGONLS FROM SQURED CORNERS: If the corners of your pool are rounded (radius) or cut (diagonal), be sure to measure to squared corners as indicated below. (Q and R) For Rectangle and Cut Corner Radius Corner (Z1, Z, Z3, Z4) for "Lazy L" Pools: Imaginary lines When measuring Diagonals for pools with 1 1 radius (rounded) or cut (diagonal) corners, be sure to measure from Point 1, NOT the edge Imaginary of the pool! lines Point 1 = Imaginary Corner where Side-walls would meet if they were extended to make a square corner. Record your measurements in the MESUREMENTS section of PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM. 5
Step #6: Measuring Shallow End Coved ottoms Refer to the diagram below to determine if you have a Shallow End Coved ottom. If you have a Shallow End Coved ottom, follow steps -D below to take measurements (C), (T), (U) and (V). If you do not have a Shallow-End Coved ottom, proceed to Step #7. Step : Measure the depth (C ) of the shallow end of your pool. e sure to measure from the bottom of the pool floor to the bead receiver (for beaded liners) OR to the board where the liner is nailed/stapled (for overlap liners). DO NOT measure to the top of the pool if you have a beaded liner, your measurement will be incorrect. STEP : Measure from the bead track (beaded hung liners) or from top of the pool (overlap hung liners) down to where the cove (T) begins. Subtract (T) from (C) to determine (U). STEP C: With a pole, locate the spot where the cove meets the floor. Use a carpenter's level to verify that the pole is vertical. Measure from the pool wall to the pole to determine (V). STEP D: If the cove along the side-wall differs from the end wall cove, please note on separate paper and include with the measuring form. IMPORTNT! E SURE THT (V) IS HORIZONTL MESUREMENT; DO NOT MESURE THE SLOPE OF THE COVE. We only use measurements parallel to the deck. How Do I Measure The ottom of My Pool? You will be able to make horizontal measurements of your pool bottom without entering the pool. Taking these measurements is easier than you may think when you use this easy-to-make measuring tool. YOU WILL NEED: 1. long straight pole. String attached to one end of the pole 3. small weight (no sharp edges) tied to the other end of the string 4. measuring tape Follow the instructions below, using your fishing pole, to make these measurements. Horizontal ottom Measurements: Use your fishing pole to fish for a point on the bottom of the pool. With the pole parallel to the ends of the pool and the string vertical (allow no slack in the string), measure the distance from the edge of the pool (water s edge) to the end of the pole where the string is attached. You should fish for points that will achieve the desired measurements based on the bottom contour of your pool (pictured on previous page). For example, to take measurement (H), you would stand on one side of the pool, and fish for a corner of the Hopper. You would then measure the distance from the edge of the pool (water s edge) to the end of the pole where the string is attached. Depth Measurements: When taking the depth measurements (C )and (J), be sure to measure from the bottom of the pool floor to the bead receiver (for beaded liners) OR to the board where the liner is nailed or stapled (for overlap liners). Do not measure to the top of the pool if you have a bead receiver; your measurement will be incorrect. Quick Measurement Check C + S must equal J (note: S is a difficult measurement to take unless you are inside the pool. It is not necessary to measure S; it is used mainly as a cross-check to verify measurement J.) D + E + F + G must equal for a Standard Hopper ( is the length of pool taken in Step #4) E + G must equal for a Wedge ( is the length of pool taken in Step #1) D + E + F +G + H1 must equal for a Safety Ledge ( is the length of pool taken in Step #4) H + I + H must equal for Standard Hopper and Wedge ( is the width of pool taken in Step #4) H1 + H + I + H + H1 must equal for Safety Ledge ( is the width of pool taken in Step #4) RE YOU MESURING THE OTTOM OF YOUR POOL CORRECTLY? Make sure that you are taking measurements of the pool bottom on a horizontal plane. We only use measurements parallel to the deck. If you measure the slopes of the pool, you will have an incorrect measurement. Step #8: Continue Measuring ccording to your Pool Shape Diagram Refer to your pool shape diagram in STEP # to complete the rest of the measurements. Record your measurements in the MESUREMENTS section of PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM. Step #9: Indicate Liner Pattern and Gauge Choose up to liner patterns and corresponding gauges for which you would like to receive quotes. Indicate the ottom Contour of your pool on PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM. Remember to also record your measurements in the MESUREMENTS Section on PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM. Step #10: Vinyl-Covered Step Sections If your pool has a built-in step section that is covered with vinyl, you must complete PGE of the MESURING FORM. Please check the Vinyl-Covered Step Sections box on PGE 1 of the MESURING FORM also. Step #11: Review, Re-Read, Make Copy & Send! REVIEW all of your measurements, being sure that all of the Quick Checks along the way are correct.
