SPORT NEWS ORANA HEIGHTS ATHLETICS CARNIVAL On Friday 10 August we held our annual athletics carnival at Barden Park. All students are to be congratulated on their participation and sportsmanship on the day. It was great to see so many students dressed in house colours and cheering on their team mates. A VERY big thank you to all the parents who helped in the canteen and at field events. Your assistance was greatly appreciated. Carnivals cannot run so smoothly without parental help. Congratulations Asha Lake, Marli Pay, Xanthie Chatfield, Bailey Stonestreet, Shanaya Button, Caiden Ah-See, Leo McTiernan, Jayden Naden, Jazmyn Button, Cooper Tidyman and William Bowden on breaking records at our school carnival. At the next primary assembly (Friday 31 August) students will be presented with their record certificates, ribbons, age champions announced and winning house announced. DISTRICT ATHLETICS Last Friday over 50 Orana Heights students competed at the Dubbo District Athletics Carnival. Our school was successful both on the track and in the field. Xanthie Chatfield broke a record in the 11yr girl s shot put, long jump & discus. Caiden Ah-See broke a record in the senior boy s long jump. Congratulations to Xanthie Chatfield on being named Dubbo District 11 year Girl Champion and Caiden Ah-See on being named Dubbo District Senior Boy Champion. Thank you to Mrs Stevenson (high jump official), Ms Mestrom (announcer), Miss Richardson (field event marshal) and Mr Long (team manager) for your support on the day.
