The last 9 and a bit months have flown by! I want to take this time to thank all of you for giving me this opportunity - it has been a real privilege to represent you all. There are some really exciting changes happening at UWE especially in sport and I am really looking forward to seeing the positive changes that are in place. Congratulations to Serena who will take over from me in the summer - I know you will do an awesome job! For my last three months I will remain dedicated to fulfilling the work that I have undertaken with the sports strategy to ensure that we get better facilities and we are able to change the way sport is delivered at UWE for the better! We hope that TeamUWE will join us to celebrate in style! Varsity So that little thing called Varsity has been and gone. Unfortunately we lost quite a few fixtures to the weather which was a real shame. However, this year s series was a great success. We didn t get the overall result we would have liked but the events ran smoothly and we had some fantastic first time events. I would like to take this time to personally thank all of the Opportunities Team who help put Varsity together. And lastly I would like to thank you, without the students we would not be able to put Varsity together. Page 5 of 7
