1. GENERAL Karting 4 Schools / Karting 4 Universities are amateur karting endurance events. The events are promoted by Spark Championships and organized by Bahrain International Karting Circuit administrated accordance with the requirements of the Bahrain Motorsport Federation (BMF) incorporating the FIA International Sporting Code and its appendices, the FIA-CIK official Bulletins, the BMF National Code, the CIK-FIA Leisure karting Guidelines and these sporting regulations. BMF licensed officials will run the event. Categories 8-11 YEARS MINI 12-14 YEARS JUNIORS 15-19 YEARS SENIORS 19+ YEARS Anything, which is not expressly allowed, is forbidden. 2. 2.4 ENTRIES 2.4.1 Fees There will be a fee charged for each team that participates in these events. The fees will be refunded only when the event is cancelled within 7 days from the date of the event. 2.4.2 ENTRIES REFUND Should any entry be cancelled prior to one month before an event, there will be no penalty, 100% of the amount paid (minus 5 BD administration fee) will be refunded. In case of any cancellation of entry within 1 month of the event, the Spark Championships will be entitled to retain 50% of payment. Should, for whatever reason, the Spark Championships be forced to cancel an event then the event will be rescheduled and all entries received for it will automatically be transferred to the replacement event. Entries will be 100% secured once entrants have received an email of confirmation. 2.4.3 Entries procedures Each driver should have a valid karting license or above. For drivers with no license, a {class K} license can be obtained from BMF. The license should be presented at the drivers registration. 2.4.4 Entries validity and restrictions Spark Championships will accept up to 30 entries per category, throughout the event, but will try to accommodate more participants if number of karts available allows it. Spark Championships also reserves the right to refuse any entry that would be against the leisure racing spirit of the K4S/K4U 2017-18. 2.5 EVENT FORMAT Karting 4 Schools & Universities Championship Bahrain consists of: Registration Signature of disclaimer form 4

Karting Drawing Drivers Briefing Free Practice Qualifying Teachers Exhibition session All-Stars Exhibition session Race Awards Presentation 2.5.1 Registration / Administrative check in All drivers should present their license at the administrative check in. All drivers will have to sign the BIKC disclaimer forms before the start of the event. Registration will take place before the drivers briefing. 2.5.2 Kart drawing A draw will take place before the drivers briefing. Participants will be allocated karts for practice, qualifying & race. The karts will be allocated by ballot at the start of the day. It is prohibited to swap karts under any circumstances. If a participant doesn t attend the kart draw session; the Organizers will allocate the kart numbers to him. 2.5.3 Drivers briefing Drivers briefing is mandatory; please refer to the Spark Championship s timetable for specific timing. Drivers showing up late at the drivers briefing might not be allowed to the event. 2.5.6 Practice Session Practice session will be time-based (Duration defined in ASR) This is a warm up and practice session and the times registered will not affect the results. 2.5.7 Qualifying Session Qualifying session will be time-based (Duration defined in ASR) The results of the qualifying session will determine the starting position of the final race in terms of best time classification. 5

In case of 2 drivers achieving identical best lap time, the Organizers will revert to the second best lap time set by each individual in order to determine priority, and so on. 2.5.8 Teachers Exhibition Session Regular rental, no timed laps or any type of results 2.5.9 All-Stars Exhibition Session Regular rental, no timed laps or any type of results 2.5.10 The Race The race will be time-based and defined in ASR. The winner of the race is the driver completing the stipulated quantity of laps in the shortest time. All drivers behind him/her will be deemed to have finished the race regardless of the number of laps they have completed. Drivers completing the same number of laps will be classified in the order in which they cross the finish line. 2.5.11 Award presentation Trophies will be presented to the top 3 teams of each category when all races are completed. Prizewinners must ensure that race suits are worn and zipped up with collars closed. 2.6 PENALTIES - Different penalties can be given depending on the level of infraction such as: Verbal warning Warning flag 10 seconds penalty Black flag Exclusion of the event Subject to the discretion of stewards. - Penalties will be applied for infringements to the rules such as but not limited to: Dangerous driving Advantage by contact Crossing white lines 6

Jump start Driving with a tinted or smoked visor at night Decisions of the officials and penalties applied are final and not subject to protest and appeal procedures. 2.7 STARTING PROCEDURES 2.7.1 Grid Karts shall be lined up on the Grid in a pre-determined order as detailed in section 2.5.7 of these regulations 2.7.3 Race start The following start procedure will apply: 1. Karts will be lined in a single file in a slanted (45 degrees) formation on the left side of grid facing the start line ( Le Mans style). 2. Drivers should line-up behind the white line on the right side of the track (run off area), each facing his respective kart. 3. Only one additional member of the team is allowed on the grid to assist in holding the kart. This team member must remain behind the kart and should not cross white line (i.e. the team member should be in the opposite run off area). Under no circumstances are these team members allowed to assist the drivers by pushing the kart once the start signal is given. 4. At the scheduled time for race start, Race Official will signal the start of the race by means of the Start Signal. Once this start signal is given, Drivers should run towards their karts, safely board the kart, and start driving. 5. Drivers must be fully seated before the kart moves. 2.7.4 False start The clerk of the course can decide to delay the start for multiple reasons such as karts not being at their starting position or moving before the race signal is given. In this case, red lights will stay on and orange flashing lights will be switched on. A red flag will also be shown on the start and finish line. Drivers should remain in their karts and wait for further instruction before starting procedure resumes. 7

2.7.5 Minimum Pit Stops The minimum amount of pit stops will be defined in the ASR 2.8 RACE STOPPAGE Should a race be stopped by the display of red flags, the following procedures shall apply: Drivers will stop racing, return to the area designated at the driver s briefing without overtaking, Pit lane will be closed. Karts will remain in the designated area and drivers will have to evacuate the area. Karts will remain or will be re-positioned in the order of the last passing prior to the red flag. Teams will be given 5 minutes notice before the race resumes and drivers only will have to proceed to the designated area. The driver that was driving prior to the red flag will have to be the one restarting the race except in case of a driver being injured or incapable of racing. Race will resume under full course yellow procedure and will restart will also be as per full course yellow procedure. The race duration will remain the same; race stoppage will not be deducted from the race duration. Driver stint time will be extended to specific maximum duration applying to specific type (duration) of race + time of the race stoppage 2.9 RACE FINISHING PROCEDURE After receiving the chequered flag all karts must proceed to the pit lane. 3. WEIGHT LIMIT 3.1 MINIMUM WEIGHT Driver will need to use additional ballast to achieve the minimum weight requirement, exact weights will be defined in the ASR per category. This additional ballast must be 8

placed in the dedicated weight box located in the left side pod of each kart. The weight box can hold maximum ballast of 30kg. This additional ballast will be provided by BIKC and participants will not be allowed to use any additional ballast. Teams will also be responsible for adjusting their ballast when changing drivers. Vests carrying extra ballast are prohibited. 4. KARTS & TECHNICAL REGULATIONS 4.1 KARTS The rental karts will be SodiKart, supplied by BIKC. The type of each kart will be defined in the ASR, per category No modification, setup or mechanical intervention will be allowed on the karts. Participants will be allocated the drawn karts throughout the event and will not be replaced if damaged as a result of a contact between karts or misused by a driver. Replacement karts can be provided only in case of obvious mechanical failure. 4.2 KARTS DECORATION The promoter reserves the right to the allowed space on the bodywork of the kart to display sponsor stickers. The bodywork of the kart is strictly reserved to the official sponsors and participating organisation logos of the event. 4.3 FUEL Fuel supplied by BIKC will be used only. No additives are allowed All karts will start sessions with the same amount of fuel. Modifications to the quantity of fuel on the karts are forbidden. 9

5.SAFETY EQUIPMENT Each participant must wear appropriate racing equipment (overalls, helmet, gloves and sports shoes) as per the CIK-FIA leisure karting guidelines as a minimum. A neck support collar and a rib protector are recommended. Drivers must wear a helmet with an efficient protection for the eyes. Participants with long hair must ensure that it is fully enclosed by the crash helmet or secured in the race suit. Hair trailing from bottom of the helmet will not be acceptable on the grounds of safety. Scarf or any loose clothes are strictly forbidden. 6.REGULATORY AMENDMENTS The organizer reserves the right to issue additional bulletins concerning the R&R. All such bulletins will have to be approved by the BMF and will be issued to the competitors at the race briefing. 7.SUNDRY ITEMS Any written instructions issued by the Organizer & BMF Event Officials Organizers and any instructions issued at the drivers briefing will carry the same force as these regulations provided they do not contradict. If any participant is not clear about any particular element of the regulations or the operation of the event, they are encouraged to seek clarification from Organizers in advance of the event or at the driver s briefing. The Organizers reserve the right to modify these regulations at any time, in the interest of safe and fair competition. The modifications will need to be endorsed by the BMF. 10

The Organizers will publish a list of officials for the event. These officials will have the right to exercise the powers laid down in these regulations and the sporting regulations of the BMF as they see fit, in the interest of safe and fair competition. Any attempt to interfere with the timing system or opposing competitor s karts will be penalized by the Organizers. In all matters regarding the running of the event, the Organizers decision is final. 11
