n a cloudy, drizzly June 11th, members and family from our club visited Grand Prix Karting in beautiful, downtown Boschertown. The sometimes wet track was no challenge to our drivers although the names of Crash Sutorius and Spin ut Bufka come to mind. We had two races and the winner of both was racing sensation, Jeff Hohl, helped out somewhat by the antics of the other drivers. Fortunately, there were no injuries and most of our racers headed off to JJ s restaurant to spend some time at this monthly cruise. 1st

A fter the finish of our Go-Kart Race Day, many of our members headed to JJ s Restaurant for their cruise night. Some members who did not race were also in attendance. However, the predicted cold front did finally make it and the cooler temps sent some home early. All in all, a great way to finish the day. 9. Mark Lazzareschi- W hen our club visited Ravanelli s Restaurant after our late winter tour, the restaurant sent this to the local newspaper. The Fords car club members come from all over the St. Louis area. It s a club that has many members and always looking for more. When visiting our restaurant, they said they would definitely return on their next visit. L isted below are the points leaders as of our June membership meeting. These totals do not include car show sponsor points. They will be added after the car show 1. Jim Biermann 270 2. Bob Layton 265 3. Bart McNail 215 4. Cindy Ahrens 185 5. Bill Bufka 170 6. People riding the museum train were able to view Bill Bauer s trophy winning Cougar convertible. T he Mustang Club of St. Louis held their second car show on June 18th. This year the show was moved to the Museum of Transportation in West County. Unfortunately, the inclement weather, with a treat of more to come, led to a poor turnout. As it turned out, the skies turned blue and the only complaint was that it got hot and muggy. The attendance was only 84 cars and trucks but considering that some of our members were in Tulsa for the Mid America Shelby Meet, we managed to have ten entries. The event was held to support BackStoppers and we donated the $50 club participation prize that we had won back to the BackStoppers. The show marked the welcome return of Vern Anderson and his 1st place winning Falcon droptop. Always the cleanest car in the show, Mark Wisbey s black Mustang convertible featured some new graphic s this year. Bill Giese s Roush was one many fine specialty Mustangs with Bill s ride also being a trophy winner.

Burt Pennington s Explorer was, to no one s surprise, a first place finisher. The club tent offered some relief from the hot sun. This view show s the awesome stance of Mark Carey s prize winning 89 LX. How many of you clean your ride by getting on the roof? Ron Walters does and beat out 2 Cobra s to take home first place. Bob Layton s 1966 Mustang stood alone (the only car in the class), and did also manage to trophy. With dad s help, Jim Biermann brought both of his cars to help support the cause.

ur Blue Cruise, held with the Show-Me Mustang Club will be take place on July 9th. This all Ford event is presented to raise funds for The BackStoppers and will be held at Pur Performance in St. Charles. The cruise will be held from 4 to 8:30 pm. This is low work event but we do need help collecting donations at the gate, selling 50-50 s, parking cars and working concessions. Members should arrive by 3 pm to help set up. We really need a good turnout from both clubs to be successful. n June 25th, a car display was held at Smartt field in St. Charles by the Commemorative Air Force. The Blue val was predominate as most of the cars came from the Show-Me Mustang Club and our club. This time their B-25 Mitchell was flying and it was a thrill to see it skimming the roof tops. Although not a club event, it was a great way to spend the cloudy Saturday.

W hen some of the top auto magazines rate the new 2012 Mustang BSS 302 as the Best ever Mustang, it must be true. Club member, Rich Sutorius is the proud owner of a 2012 Race Red, BSS 302. Quoting Rich: The Boss is an absolute blast! Easily the best Mustang ever made (or at least that I have driven) and possibly one of the best cars around. Now if I could only better than 12 MPG (although in all honesty I deserve it). The other day I was entering the Page Ave. extension off Muegge and it's a beautiful left hand/right hand sweeper with nothing around to interfere so I just ran it through the gears and had to be doing over 100 when I backed off to enter the hiway. The car never even batted an eye or squealed a tire. WW!! T his month we welcome new member, Will Marks. Will lives in Moscow Mills and drives a Ford 150. Will s sponsor is Ed Mauzy. Also joining is Steve Krulin who is the proud owner of a 65 Mercury Monterey. Steve resides in Kirkwood. Welcome to both new members!! n July 16th our club will be heading to Alton Illinois to attend the Southern Illinois Mustang Association s all Ford Show that will be held at Roberts Ford. We will be caravanning that morning and will meet at the UAW Hall located on Pershall Road next to the old Ford Plant. We will meet at 8:45 am and will leave at 9 am. This is a club event for points. ur 50-50 winner at our well attended June membership meeting was Gwen Simms who went home with an additional $42.
