Page 2 Board of Advisors: Jeff Hall Becky Hiller Bob Hounsell Bill Nolan Dale Denny Denice Short Lennie Barton Carol Smith Chairman: Gary Strawbridge Roger Watson Owner ABOUT ONE MONTH TO GO! Champion greens! What a great effort the staff and Champion Club members have made to help upgrade the course. Thank you to everyone on the team. Now is the time to get onboard and proudly sponsor a new member to make your membership even more affordable. If you have not already paid your dues for 2018, you can prepay DURING AUGUST and get one month FREE, plus become eligible for discounts on the cart and range clubs. This is a very exciting time at Wildwood Green. Thank you for being a member! Thank you for all your ideas and support to improve the club.

Page 3 Rick Durham Superintendent Our new greens were successfully planted July 19 th and 20 th. It s nearly two weeks later and we appear to be off to a great start. There has been a few stressful days in between with some severe heat and concerns over water. Recent upgrades to the irrigation pump station allows tracking of how much water we are using. Water usage for July is approaching 2 million gallons. There has been a few storms lately and our water supply is almost back to normal. Now that the new greens have rooted irrigation will be reduced gradually and water should no longer be a concern. A steady application of fertilizer will be applied over the next four weeks along with frequent top dressings of sand. Sand will help level out any small uneven areas and firm up the putting surface. If all goes well I don t see any reason of not making our September opening. Although the greens and normal maintenance has taken up most of our time we have been working towards making other improvements. Bunkers have been edged and sand has been added to all green side bunkers. There will be many areas that sod will be added and we will continue to improve outer edges of the course. Thanks to all of you for your comments and suggestions and as always I can be reached at rdurham@wildwoodgreen.com.

Page 6 Jeff Engelhaupt General Manager Dear Members, Now is your time to shine! We have officially launched our Advantage Membership Drive and we are expecting the greens to open in roughly a month. By sponsoring a new member under this drive your monthly dues will be reduced by 10% of the new member s monthly fees. Champion Club Members- this is your chance to sponsor a new member and receive 25% of the new member s dues off your dues for 12 months. If you would like some membership packets to help sell your friends, please stop by the golf shop and see an employee for a few packets. The information is also posted on our website in case you need to reference it quickly while you are out and about. Once we reach 400 dues paying memberships we will restrict weekendandholidaymorningstomembersandsponsoredguestplay only. As theysay nowistime togetin while the gettin is good! Another way to save money off your dues is to prepay. Starting this month we are offering our prepay option for 2018. Members will receive 1 month free membership dues and 1 month free dues on services by prepaying in August. Champion Club members will receive 10% off their dues by prepaying, just like in the past. Stop by the golf shop and see an employee for your prepay number today! Don t forget about our social events this month! The most fun event will be glow golf, at least in my opinion That is set for Saturday, August 12 th and will begin at sundown. We will turn holes 1, 16, 17, and 18 into a light-up course and will have all the supplies you need to play. We have 4 temporary green course record days as we say goodbye to those (at least for a little) after this month. We also have bingo night, two texas hold em nights and another cookout planned.please signup with thegolf shop for eachof these events. Thank you for being a member and I will see you at the club soon! Upcoming Events: Thursday, August 3 rd Temp Course Record Day Saturday, August 12 th Glow Ball Golf Tuesday, August 15 th Texas Hold Em Wednesday, August 16 th Temp Course Record Day Sunday, August 20 th Bogey s Cook-Out Friday, August 25 th Bingo Night Saturday, August 26 th Temp Course Record Day Wednesday, August 30 th Texas Hold Em

Page 7 Mindy Glatfelter Golf Shop Manager We are very excited that the new bermudapractice putting green has opened and we look forward to opening the bermudagreens on the course next month! Make sure you come out and practice on the new bermudapractice putting green so you can get used to the speed/feeling before the new greens on the course open. Get the practice in before our upcoming majors. The Club Championship and Fall Member-Member are just right around the corner and will be here before you know it. Practice makes perfect, right? Even with temporary greens in place, we have a lot going on at the club this month. We have so many events planned in the month of August such as Bingo, Texas Hold Em, Temporary Green Course Record Days, Glow Ball, Bogey s Cook-Out and even a Callaway Fitting Day. Please grab an August calendar in the golf shop foyer to keep track of all of these exciting dates. Thank you to the members who came out and participated in our first Bingo night of the summer. I am looking forward to having even more members participate this month. You do not want to miss out on the next Bingo night because Bogey s Grill will be providing a delicious dinner with your entry fee. Bogey s Grill is also planning to have another exciting cook-out in August. If you have any comment, questions or suggestions about current or upcoming events please email me at mindy@wildwoodgreen.com.

Page 8 Zack Goldberg First Assistant Professional It s an exciting time here at the club. Our first of three practice greens have opened up and many of you have taken advantage of practicing on them. If you have not done so already, come out and roll a few putts on the new green! I encourage all of you to take this opportunity to get used to what the golf course will be like in September. The new bermuda greens react a lot differently than the previous bent grass we had. Heading into September, I would like to stress to all of the golfers that we need to keep up the hard work to maintain our course. Nothing makes me happier than a returned golf cart at the end of a golf round with empty sand bottles. As golfers, we should help keep all golf courses in great shape! Picking up loose trash, moving sticks off cart paths, filling divots plus one more in the fairways are just some of the little items we can do during a course of a round. Remember, we do offer sand bottles for walkers and plenty for sand bottle refills located around the course. Please be on the lookout for some upcoming clinics that I will be hosting! As always, please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. I look forward to seeing all of you around the club!

Page 9 Martin Mulholland Handicap Committee Chairman It has been a nice break for the handicap committee with the course currently not available for handicap scores and as a result very few cards have been handed in for review. However I do encourage you to hand in all scores from other courses with a clear indication of the date and which tee was played. With the new greens opening soon the handicap committee will be holding an handicap information night on Thursday, August 24th. In the meeting we will cover general handicap rules, the role of the committee, and how the new greens may affect handicaps. If you have any subjects you would like to have covered please send an email to handicaps@wilidwoodgreen.com.
