We are extremely excited to begin our 17th dance season. At TDI we are proud to offer our students a wide variety of classes. Each class is specially designed to learn specific skills in a structured, fun environment. The spacious dance studios are well equipped to suit the needs of our programs. Mirrors, barres, mats & sprung floors are tools used to help a dancer excel in their classes. We wish to make sure all the families who attend TDI feel welcome in our facility. The dressing rooms are designed for the use of all TDI students while common rooms serve as waiting areas for parents. Throughout the season, we are continuously updating our web site and anticipate having newsletters and general information for viewing/printing available online. The teachers at TDI are all extremely qualified and dedicated to their positions. A dance teacher s main goal at TDI is to pass on their love of dance to our students! We hope everyone has an enjoyable dance season! Sincerely,

4 TDI - Policy Book 202016/17Season 5 General Policies (con t) Spectators: No spectators are allowed in class. If the studio door is closed, please do not open it, as it is distracting to the dancers. Viewing windows will be opened at the teachers discretion. Viewing Week: The last week of classes before the Christmas break (Saturday, December 17 to Thursday, December 22) will be open for parents to observe their children's class. Arrival & Departure: Parents, please make every effort to ensure your children arrive at the studio 5 minutes before class time. Late arrival is distracting to the class and may cause the student to miss important warm-ups. The student may be asked to sit out of class if he or she arrives after the class is in progress. Attendance: Please call the studio if you are going to be absent. Regular attendance is necessary in order for the students to take full advantage of the instruction offered. Irregular attendance restricts the progress of the student and their class. Director Meetings: To ensure class time is not disturbed please call the studio or email us at info@totaldanceinnovations.com to discuss concerns. Even though we may not appear available please do not leave problems unaddressed. Communication is the key; there is usually a solution. Snow Days / Cancellations: In the event of a snow storm or other severe inclement weather, TDI may close. Every effort to contact all students will be made, however, please call the studio at 519-853-8628. Our voice message will be updated by 3:00 pm with cancellations. Please Note: There will not be scheduled make-up classes for cancellations. Students may choose to take another similar class to compensate for a cancelled class. Emergencies: In case of an emergency we will attempt to notify everyone and/or post a notice on the studio door. General Policies (con t) Rehearsals / Recital: The Dance Showcase will be held on June 3 and 4, 2017. It is very exciting as well as a great opportunity for family and friends to enjoy the progress your dancer has made throughout the year. Students who wish to perform in the recital must attend the dress rehearsal and show for each class they attend. The dress rehearsal will be held Wed May 31, Thurs June 1 and Fri June 2, 2017. Please be available for all these dates. A more detailed schedule will be given out closer to these events. The Finale: Rehearsal will take place at TDI studio on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. The students will participate in a Finale routine at the end of the show. It is important to attend the rehearsal to practice and become familiar with the finale routine. Photos / Video/DVD of Recitals: TDI has a professional photographer, Fred s Photography, attend the studio to take class and individual pictures. We encourage our students to participate in the class photo even if they do not wish to have an individual picture taken. Professional Photo Day is scheduled for Friday, May 26, 2017. Photos are available for purchase directly from the photographer at the dress rehearsals in the lobby of the John Elliott Theatre. A professional videographer will be recording each recital. Pre-order forms will be available at the studio prior to the recital dates. The DVD/Videos will be available for pick up at the following years registration, or at the Acton Leathertown Festival. Please Note: Photos and DVD s are a service provided by TDI. The studio does not financially benefit from their sales. All concerns should be addressed to these private companies. Each student and his or her legal guardian releases the rights to all photography, (web or video) that may be taken during TDI classes, performances or competitions for use in advertising.
