For troupe performances, the age category is determined as at 1 January 2019. RULES AND CONDITIONS PAYMENT: All cheques/money orders should be made payable to 'Just Dance Extravaganza.' Entries may be paid by direct debit to the following account: Account name Just Dance Extravaganza Account number 200 603 478 BSB 641-800 Reference Competitors name A receipt of payment must be attached to all entries. The Committee reserves the right to refuse entries where payment is not received. ADJUDICATOR: The adjudicators decision is final. At no time should any audience member or competitor approach or disrupt the adjudicator in any way, including lunch and dinner breaks. AGE CATEGORIES: Babies (4/u and 5/u) 6/u 8/u 10/u 12/u 14/u 15/o CHAMPIONSHIPS: Babies Championship - 6/u Sub-Junior Championship - 10/u Junior Championship - 12/u Senior Championship - 13/o AMATEUR: The Extravaganza is open to amateurs only. BALLET AND POINTE SHOES: Pointe shoes are prohibited from performances of competitors aged 11 and under. COMMITTEE: The Committee reserves the right to amend, refuse or cancel sections where insufficient entries are received. Sections will either be combined with open or older age groups at the discretion of the committee where insufficient entries are received. COMPETITORS: Must be ready to compete in the section and order in which their name appears in the programme. No competitor will be allowed to dance more than once in any solo section. Competitors can repeat their dance after forgetting it at the discretion of the adjudicator. Competitors will not be transferred from one section to another if incorrectly entered on entry form unless an error is the fault of the committee. No competitor is allowed to dance in both restricted and open sections in the same category. No competitor may take another competitors place in the programme. Prompting (except babies) is not permitted at all and may result in disqualification. Competitors must enter and compete in their own age group only. DRESS: No changing in the auditorium at anytime. Competitors are to change in the dressing rooms only. Tap shoes are prohibited from being worn in the auditorium.

RULES AND CONDITIONS IMPROVISATIONS: Plain leotard or unitard only, no sequins or hologram materials, school logos etc. TIME LIMITS: All time limits include tags. Solos - 3 minutes Song and Dance Solos - 4 minutes Duo/Trio - 4 minutes Troupes - 5 minutes All competitors found not adhering to the prescribed time limits will be disqualified. MUSIC: CD's must be cued correctly with a single track on each disc. The CD must contain a label that states the competitors name and name of song. MODERN: Expressive Lyrical, expressive movements with a classical base. Contemporary Based on contemporary techniques, themes and structure SECTIONS: Open Competitors who have placed 1st in a Restricted section at any dance challenge or eisteddfod. Restricted Competitors who have never placed 1st in a section at any dance challenge or eisteddfod. USB's and iphones will be accepted in limited circumstances. In the event a USB contains a virus, the competitor will be liable for any damage caused to the property of Just Dance Extravaganza and its volunteers. PROTESTS: This is a 'no protest' Extravaganza. The Adjudicators decision is final. REFUNDS: Refunds will not be given following a receipt of entry. PROPS: Props may be placed on stage by a backstage helper or parent and need to be removed at the conclusion of the session. No glass or flammable materials are permitted. Competitors in restricted sections are not able to qualify for championships. Novice - NEW! Competitors for whom the Just Dance Extravaganza is their first time performing as a soloist. The novice section is only available for jazz or modern expressive routines for the following age groups: - 6/u - 8/u - 10/u - 12/u

RULES AND CONDITIONS TROUPES: The minimum number of students in each troupe performance is four (4). The age for troupes is the competitors age as at 1 January 2019. In your entry, please indicate how many students will compete in each group. This will assist the committee in splitting the sections into small and large categories where a substantial number of entries are received. Elite - NEW! Troupe performance groups who have placed first in a given Jazz, Modern Expressive or Contemporary section in the 2018 and 2019 calendar years are eligible to compete in the Elite section. Entry to the Elite section is at the dance teacher's discretion. CHAMPIONSHIPS: Babies Championship Each competitor must perform two (2) dances of different styles. To qualify, competitors must enter and compete in any 6/u or babies section. Dances may be repeated. Tap Championship Each competitor must perform a slow tap and a fast tap. To qualify, competitors must enter and compete in two (2) open sections. One (1) dance may be repeated. Jazz Championship Each competitor must perform a modern expressive OR contemporary, and jazz. To qualify, competitors must enter and compete in two (2) open sections. One (1) dance may be repeated.. Classical Championship Each competitor must perform a demi-character and classical. To qualify, competitors must enter and compete in two (2) open sections. One (1) dance may be repeated. National Championship Each competitor must perform a national character. To qualify, competitors must enter and compete in an open national character section. Song and Dance Championship Each competitor must perform a song and tap and a song and soft shoe. To qualify, competitors must enter and compete in two (2) open sections. One (1) dance may be repeated SCHOLARSHIPS: All scholarship awards are based on the Adjudicator's opinion of the most promising performer. Classical Scholarship Each competitor must perform either a classical, national character or demi-character. To qualify, competitors must enter and compete in one of the aforementioned sections. The dance may be repeated. Tap Scholarship Each competitor must perform either a slow/ straight tap, waltz tap or fast tap. To qualify, competitors must enter and compete in one of the aforementioned sections. The dance may be repeated.

RULES AND CONDITIONS Entertainment Scholarship Each competitor must perform either a jazz, modern expressive, contemporary, song and soft shoe and song and tap. To qualify, competitors must enter and compete in one of the aforementioned sections. The dance may be repeated. PERPETUAL TROPHIES: The adjudicator will award the following perpetual awards to the performer of their choice: - Most Promising Baby - Debbie Watts Memorial Trophy - Sportsmanship Award - Outstanding Junior Dancer Award - Outstanding Senior Dancer Award - Highest Scoring Junior Troupe - Highest Scoring Senior Troupe SAFETY: Just Dance Extravaganza does not accept any liability for injuries caused or property and possessions lost by any individuals present at the Extravaganza. Entry to the Extravaganza acts as an acknowledgment and acceptance of these rules and conditions. Smoking is prohibited within the grounds of the Extravaganza and on school property. SERVICE FEE: Each competitor, family or dance studio (whichever is applicable) is liable to pay a $10.00 service fee. This fee includes an emailed program and the a digital copy of the 2020 syllabus. VIDEO: No personal video or photography is allowed in the hall at anytime, including the use of mobile phones. Unauthorised photography or video will result in the disqualification of the competitor. Mobile phones must be switched of in the auditorium at all times. PROGRAM: It is the responsibility of the competitor to contact Just Dance Extravaganza in the event the program is not received within two (2) weeks of the starting date of the competition. INCREASE IN ENTRY FEES: Due to a recent substantial increase in AMCOS and APRA fees, Just Dance Extravaganza has unfortunately been forced to raise the cost of each entry. As members of the dance community, we understand the importance of keeping entry fees as low as possible, however we have needed to take these additional charges into account. The decision to increase entry fees was not made lightly. We believe that all children, regardless of financial opportunity, should have the opportunity to perform on stage. Our goal has always been to provide a friendly, encouraging and positive environment that nurtures and inspires the development of local talent. We hope to see you all again at the 2019 Just Dance Extravaganza!!
