DEVELOPMENT CLASS SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS Development Class is open to any F4 Miniature Road Race bikes, 250cc 2 cylinder 4 stroke,including Hyosung cup machines and up to 150cc 2 and 4 stroke street type road registerable mass production machines of any make sold or on sale in New Zealand, in standard specification. F4 Miniature Road racing as per MNZ Rules chapter 24, are eligible for this class 250 Production as per MNZ Rules Appendix I,With the exception of the tyre rule and homologation and Hyosung cup supp regs are eligible for this class,no HOMOLOGATION is necessary The minimum age limit for Development Class racing shall be 13 years for 150cc 2 and 4 stroke, or 15 years for 250cc 2 cylinder 4 stroke. Development class shall be a restricted class of road racing, under the following conditions for 150 2 stroke machines 1. The maximum 2 stroke engine capacity size is 150cc; re boring to maximum over size of 0.50mm is allowed. The maximum 4 stroke engine capacity size is 250cc up to 2 cylinders maximum over size of 0.50mm is allowed. 2. The motorcycles are not to be 125GP bikes. 3. Where the rider does not have a current driving licence, that rider shall receive motorcycle riding lessons and a minimum of one full days coaching of road racing with an approved coach prior to racing. 4. All junior competitors (20 years and younger) in the road race event are to wear a high visibility vest to be worn over their leathers for the first 10 events at which they compete. Proof of these events will be from entries in their logbook. Classes Development Junior: Development Senior: riders aged 20 years and under riders aged 21 years and older Preparation of Motorcycle All items not mentioned in the following must remain as originally produced by the manufacturer. All motorcycles are to be prepared in accordance with Chapter 10. In instances of wear and tear damage or failure, parts may be replaced but must not derive a performance advantage. Fuel refer to rule 10.17.2 At all Road Race meetings one fire extinguisher must be visibly present in each riders pit area. All motorcycles must display the manufacturer s vehicle identification number on the frame. Additional seat brackets may be added but none may be removed. Bolt on accessories to the sub frame may be removed. Modifications or Removal Allowed( 150 2 stroke machines only) 1. Footrests/foot controls must bolt on the frame in the original position and be same height and position as standard 2. Solid footrest are allowed 3. Handle bars height and angle of bars must remain standard 4. Hand controls Clutch and brake levers 5. Brake lines and brake pads

6. Spark Plugs 7. The speedo drive may be removed and replaced with a spacer 8. Fairing, front guard, windscreen and bodywork must retain the original shape as produced by the manufacturer, but these parts can be replaced with an exact cosmetic copy 9. Carbon fibre is restricted to the reinforcing parts only; carbon fibre cannot be used elsewhere. Small plastic cones/knobs may be added to the machine to minimize accident damage. 10. All exposed edges must be rounded 11. Seat and seat base and associated bodywork may be replaced with parts of similar appearance as the original shape; the top portion of the seat may be modified to create a solo seat 12. Fuel lines may be replaced Quick connectors or dry break quick connectors may be used. Fuel line vents may be replaced fuel filter may be fitted. 13. Base and head gasket with Standard parts, must retain original thickness. 14. Carburetor jetting / fuel injection tuning 15. External gearing and chains 16. Suspension springing and oil may be changed. 17. Fasteners may be drilled for safety wire only. Fairing fasteners may be changed for quick disconnect type. 18. Titanium/aluminium fasteners may not be used. 19. All 4 strokes standard headers aftermarket mufflers allowed 20. Rims may be changed, but must be production bike rims. No aftermarket or GP rims allowed. 21. Motorcycle must be equipped with a functional ignition kill switch or button mounted on the Handlebars that is capable of stopping a running engine 22. Where breather or overflow pipes are fitted they must discharge via existing outlets into a catch tank. The original closed system must be retained; no direct atmospheric emission is permitted. 23. Throttle controls must be self-closing when not held by the hand. 24. Instruments, Horn, brackets and associated cables. 25. Toolbox. 26. Radiator fan and wiring. 27. Rear guard / Chain Guard. The following items must be removed 1. Passenger footrests / grab rails unbolted only. 2. Number plate / Number plate bracket. 3. Safety bars, centre and side stands (fixed/welded brackets must remain) 4. Headlamp, rear lamp, blinkers. Items not allowed 1. Data logging not allowed 2. The fitment of aftermarket traction control units is not allowed 3. Rear shock and all linkages must remain standard modifications not allowed. 4. Tyre warmers are not allowed. 5. Frame Body and rear sub frame modifications not allowed 6. Emulator valves or modifications to damping mechanisms are not allowed. 7. Aftermarket expansion chambers are not allowed. 8. The inner and outer front fork stanchion must remain standard.

Tyres: The choice of tyre is optional a) Must be commercially available in New Zealand b) Be worn no more than the tread depth indicators c) In the event of the meeting being declared wet, a treaded tyre MUST be used, Full wet or otherwise SCOOTERS 2t scooters must have originally been 50cc air cooled CVT scooters (no gears) They can be freely modified up to 70cc air cooled only (no crank stroking) 50cc 4t can be freely modified up to 100cc (no stroked cranks) Wheel size must be no bigger than 14 inch diameter 125cc 4t (cvt only) no engine modifications; MUST BE factory spec. Bolt on additions allowed, being exhaust, variator tuning, suspension, fairing mods and tyres. Wheel size must be no bigger than 14 inch diameter

CLASSIC RACING SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS This class includes the following: 1. Pre 82 2. Pre 72 3. Pre 63 All classes, Junior and Senior, are to compete in the one race at Motorcycling Canterbury club days. SIDECAR ROAD RACING SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS As per Appendix A of the manual of motorcycle sport Formula 1: There shall be no restriction in engine design Lower limit: 410cc 2 stroke multis

Upper limit: 610cc 4 stroke 4 cylinder engines 501 2 stroke single cylinder engines 751 4 stroke twin cylinder engines 751cc 4 stroke cylinder engines 1300cc Turbo chargers and superchargers shall not be allowed. The capacity of rotary engines shall be determined by the formula approved by MNZ. Formula II: Engine capacities for this class shall be as follows: 240cc 410cc 2 stroke multis 240cc 600cc 4 stroke four cylinder engines 320cc 500cc 2 stroke single cylinder engines 320cc 750cc 4 stroke twin cylinder engines 320cc 750cc 4 stroke single cylinder engines Supercharging and turbocharging shall not be allowed. Machines competing in this class will be combined with Formula 1 machines and compete for the same points.
