Introduction Team BMX Besnate, with the help of the Italian Cycling Federation, are proud to organize the ninth and the tenth rounds of Circuito Italiano BMX 2015; Saturday s race will be a UCI C1 competition and Championship s classes riders can score UCI points for their country ranking. 2. Location Track s address: via Vittorio Veneto snc 21010 BESNATE (VA) In Besnate there is the highway exit that is 1 km far away from the circuit; highway A8/E62 connect Besnate with Milano (30 minutes), Varese (15 minutes) and Torino with highways A26 and A4/E64 Milano- Torino. Rules The competition rules is the one approved by the Italian Cycling Federation for the Circuito Italiano BMX 2015 series; you can read it at the following link (in Italian language only): http://bmx.federciclismo.it/it/infopage/circuito-italiano-bmx-2015/7fb582fa-8c50-4119-869b-49d8b6eeaf21/ Elite Men will race against Junior Men in an Open class, as well Elite Women with Junior Women; the final results will be split in two separate classes based on the results summary. If there are less than 5 riders confirmed in the Elite/Junior women they will be combined with the Open girls category, always with final separated results for each category. Riders get the ranking points that correspond with the place in the separate results and will be awarded the prize money that correspond with the place in the separate results. All registered riders have to do 3 qualification motos to qualify for the next stage of the event. The groups for these qualification motos will be composed on a random selection of confirmed riders and will be randomly scrambled into moto groups every run. Gate selection order for run 1 2 3 will be randomly generated by the computer. For all the other race parameters the competition will be run under the UCI 2015 cycling regulations (part 6 BMX) also for Master/Challenge/Cruiser categories. The challenge classes under 12 years will compete merged as follow (the final classification will be not separated for each category and/or gender): boys/girls 7/8 years boys/girls 9/10 years boys/girls 11/12 years 5. Registration The registration open saturday May 16 th 2015 at 8,00 a.m. The deadline for Italian s riders is fixed Wednesday 24 june at 24,00, while for foreign riders is fixed Saturday 13 june at 24,00; the registration s request will be made with the dedicated entry-form that will be downloadable from the website www.bmxbesnate.it and then sended to emme.gianni@tiscali.it. All riders with non-italian licence must send together with the Entry Form the permission to compete abroad issued by their cycling federation. Classes Championship classes (8m starting ramp) Challenge classes (5m starting ramp) Junior women / Junior men (age 17 & 18) Girls age 8 and under, 9 The races is open to any rider from any country with a regular national licence, in compliance with the UCI regulations. The classes allowed to compete is the following: BMX 20 wheels: Cruiser 24 wheels: Boys/Girls 7-8 years; Boys 13-14 years; Boys/Girls 9-10 years; Boys 15-16 years; Boys/Girls 11-12 years;; Master 17 +. Boys/Girls 13-14; Boys/Girls 15-16; Open Women 13+; Men 17-29; Master 30+; Junior M/W; Elite M/W. In the challenge classes under 12 years the girls always will race with the boys; the girls under 12 can choose to compete with the next younger category. 8. Number plates and side plates Every Italian riders must use the Maikun/Agressive number plates furnished by the Italian Cycling Federation (see sample on appendix A ) without any modification; the bikes must be equipped also with lateral number plates for the photofinish. Foreign riders could use their personal frontal number plates or purchase the Maikun/Agressive number plates directly in place (price 10 Euro) and it can be used for all the other Circuito Italiano races. 9. Clothing and safety equipment Championship classes (8m starting ramp) All the riders of the category 7-12 years must use the protection on the bike established by the Italian s regulation (foam protection on crossbar, stem and frame s top tube). Riders of all category must follow what International rules says about race clothing and safety equipment; among the other things: Only Elite riders who received a permanent career number through the UCI or Elite riders with a world number 1-8, may print a permanent career number or world number 1-8 on the back of the jersey. Riders without a permanent career number must not print a number on the back of their jersey (permanent career numbers list can be read on Internet at the following link: http://www.uci.ch/mm/document/news/newsgeneral/16/80/67/listofucibmxpermanentcareernum bers(13.01.2015)_neutral.pdf ). Short pants made of tear-resistant material are permitted if used together with knee and shin protection with a rigid surface that extends from the knee protection to fully cover the shin, or to just above the ankle. Jeans/denim pants are not permitted. Cameras are not permitted during practice, qualifying rounds and finals. Clipless pedals can be used only by riders from 17 years and older. 5
10. Prize money The prize money for junior and elite categories are the same established by the UCI FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS for BMX International Events for saturday s race, while the one for sunday s race are established by Italian Cycling Federation. Team Manager The organization will provide ID cards / passes for two person (Team Manager and assistant) for every National, Trade or Club Team entering the race. The Team Manager s area is located inside the track between the first and second straight line (see the detailed venue map on appendix D ). No access to other place inside the track is allowed. 14. Team Area In the straight paved with tarmac next to the starting line will be placed the gazebos for Team, in the red edged spaces on the attached plan (see appendix D ). For a better utilization of this space is recommended that each team did advance request assignment of the space required by sending an email to mazzugianni@tiscali.it specifying the number and size of the gazebo, trying to adapt the space required for the actual number of registred rider. 15. Parking All the cars must be left outside the track s fence (purple line in appendix C and D ), in the dedicated yellow area. No motor vehicles will be allowed inside the track, with the exception of ambulance and expositor s cars. 7
The camping car s parking will be located at 200 meters from the track (see the following air image in this page); the campsite has one bathroom and will be opened from Friday 26 june at 18,00. The parking for mobile homes and caravans will be free of charge; the area will be not fenced and not guarded. The organization recommends to park in orderly manner and not to leave garbage on the campsite at the end of the competition. 16. Catering During the whole race s days there will be a bar where you can buy hot and cold food and drink. Friday and Saturday night and Sunday for lunch there will be in function a restaurant located at 200 meters from the circuit (see appendix C ). 17. Bathrooms and showers The locker rooms (separated for gender) with bathroom and showers will be opened Saturday from 12,00 until 19,30 and Sunday from 8,00 until 15,00; during the night they well be closed. It s strictly forbidden to go inside the playfield of the gym. 8
