U14 hurling The U14 team played Kilbrittain at Brinny in the 1st. round of the Feile Hurling. Valleys were outplayed for most of the game and were beaten on a scoreline of 7-9 to 4-4. In the first half both sides traded scores with Daniel Keneally to the fore for Valleys but following two soft goals were behind at half time by 2-5 to 1-2. On the resumption Kilbrittain tightened their grip on the game and dominated in most quarters. Despite Robert Sean Sweetman ending up with three goals, overall it was a very spirited but below par performance by the team.on the day of the match the mentors found themselves scrambling for players to make up a team and had to call upon two Under 12 players namely Mark O'Leary and Charlie Lyons. Both were introduced at half time and can feel rightly proud of their performances. With such tight numbers the commitment of all players and parents is required and on this occasion was sadly lacking.we had high hopes of going far in this competition and Kilbrittain now go on to meet Nemo Rangers a team that The Rovers had easily beaten last year. Jonathan Hurley was injured during the game and we wish him well as we do Adam Settini. The Panel of players used on the day was:- Cian O'Donovan, Paddy O'Sullivan, Sean O'Donovan, Aaron Murphy,CJ O'Shea, William Hurley, Fearghal Lyons, James Callanan, Colm Barry, Peter Callanan,Robert O'Leary,Jonathan Hurley,Robert Sean Sweetman,Alan Hoey,Daniel Keneally, Olan Feehily,John Patrick McKuckian, Charlie Lyons and Mark O'Leary.
