Red, White and Boom Party! Monday, July 3 rd It is that time of year again! Our third annual Independence Day Celebration will commence Monday, July 3 rd starting at 4pm. Our goal is to make this a family friendly event for all of our members. Below is an outline of what to expect on Monday, July 3 rd and Tuesday, July 4 th. Monday, July 3 rd Tee times will be available from 7:30am till 11am. All carts must be off of the course by 3pm. The driving range will be closed all day in preparation for the party. The Sunset Bar and Grille and Main Dining room will be serving breakfast starting at 7:30am till 10am. There will be $12 ++ Grab and Go lunch available from 11am to 3pm on the Pool Deck. There will be a choice of a sandwich, two sides, a drink and dessert. The Sunset Bar and Grille and Main Dining room will be closing at 11am. The pool will be closing at 3pm, but will reopen during the event for those attending. The schedule of events will be as follows: Check-in is at 4pm at the main entrance of the Club where you will receive your wristbands. Be prepared to show your wristbands for entrance to all activities. Wristbands can be picked up in advance from Alex or Sam at the front desk Tuesday through Friday (9-5pm) and Saturday (10 2pm). Lost wristbands will require a full replacement fee. Bounce Houses and Water Slide will be open from 4 to 8pm on the driving range. Music by Bread and Butter will start at 5pm. The All American Buffet will be from 5pm - 9pm located in the Main Dining Room and formal lawn. There will be a hot dog eating contest for the adults and a watermelon eating contest for the children. The contests will begin at 6:30pm under the tent on the formal lawn. Everyone is encouraged to enter. We are taking 9 adults for the Hot Dog eating contest and 15 children for the watermelon contest. Fireworks will be around 9pm.
In order to expedite our bar service, drink tickets will be presold and also available for purchase the night of the event. Tickets for mixed drinks (call and house brands) are $9, House Wine $8, and Beer (import and domestic) $6 (All beverage prices include tax and gratuity). Top shelf liquors will be available at the Sunset Bar and Grille only and will have an additional charge. Tables and chairs will be set up on the pool deck and tennis lawn in preparation for the event all day on July 3 rd. Lounge chairs will be available on a very limited basis. Seating for the event will be on a first come first serve basis beginning at 4pm. The second floor of Pete s Turn is for adults only during the event starting at 4pm till close. There will be additional bars set up. All food service will be located in the formal lawn and Main Dining room of the Clubhouse. Parking will be available but will be limited. Parking is not allowed on the median on Selva Marina Drive. We will have shuttles available for those who may have to park further away. We encourage you to walk or bike to the Club if possible. The bike rack located by the Sports Shop will be available. All those at the Club from 4-9pm must have a wristband. After 9pm the Sunset Bar and Grille will be open to those without wristbands. The price for the event is $34.95 ++ for Adults and $14.95++ for Children (5-12). Children 4 and under are free. Tuesday, July 4 th Tuesday Tee times will be available starting at 7:30am 11am. The Driving Range and course will be open till 3pm. Food service in the Clubhouse, Pool, and Pete s Turn will end at 3pm. The Clubhouse and Pool will resume normal operating hours Wednesday, July 5 th. We look forward to seeing you at our July 3 rd Red, White and Boom Party! New Clubhouse Manager/ AGM I would like to reintroduce Samuel Gvozdenovich as our new Clubhouse Manager/Assistant General Manager. Sam Gvozdenovich (the G is silent) comes to Atlantic Beach Country Club from the Oaks Club in Osprey, Florida where he has spent the last two years as Food & Beverage Manager. Sam s journey in club management started at the University of Central Florida where he was an accomplished member of the student chapter of the Club Managers Association and progressed to Food & Beverage Manager at Interlachen Country Club in Winter Park, Florida, for seven years. Sam s success comes from a passion for service that is clearly evident within the first minute you meet him. Sam is truly excited to make connections with the members and staff when he begins as Clubhouse Manager/Assistant General Manager on July 5th and hopes to make a positive impact at Atlantic Beach Country Club for years to come. In addition to his career in club management, Sam will be marrying his girlfriend of 5 years, Marissa Middleton, on June 10, 2017. The couple met at the University of Central Florida and enjoy spending time with their dog, and being out on the water. So, when you welcome Sam and Marissa to the beaches, feel free to congratulate them too! Sam was tied for 1 st at the qualifier for the Florida State Amateur held at TPC Sawgrass. The 100th Florida State Amateur Championship is one of the oldest and most prestigious amateur golf championships in the country. Kids ages 5 and older Sonia and the ABCC Sports Staff are offering summer camp Monday through Friday for six weeks this summer. Activities include tennis lessons, golf lessons, an introduction to lacrosse, pillow hockey, silent speed ball, scavenger hunts, bingo, bean bag bucket tag, 4-square, crafts, games and swimming. Lunch is also included. Price: $260 per week, $60 per day or $40 1/2 Day $200 per week/$50 per day for additional siblings.
