Attention all Watkins Mill students! This month of December will be dedicated to the clash of classes, a full out competition to see which class has the most spirit at Watkins Mill! Everybody is encouraged to participate! Today is white out in the mixing bowl, so make sure to be prepared to represent your class. Come out and help bring back spirit to the Mill! Also as a part of the competition we will be using RinesWards to promote school spirit as well as a good learning environment. When you are given a RinesWard, take it to your class sponsor with your name written on the back. This will be counted as one point for your entire class and will also enter your name into a raffle for gift cards. It will also be tallied along to see which class has the most points for the month of December. So get ready for the clash of classes!
Our annual Alumni Day is December 23. We will welcome back the class of 2015 to visit with students and staff during STEP. There will also be a panel discussion featuring 10-12 alumni during 4th period in the auditorium for 9th and 12th graders where the alumni will answer questions about their first semester at college.
Topics discussed will include but are not limited to: time management, daily life, what they would tell their freshman self, advice for seniors, roommate issues, playing a sport in college, scholarships/financial aid and much, more. much
Attention Drama Club. If you are planning on attending and/or participating in this year s MCPS Theatre Festival at Blake High School on Friday, January 22nd, then get your paperwork completed and returned to Mr. Tarzwell by today. All paperwork can be found on the Drama Club call board located on the 3rd floor in the A Hallway.
There is a Debate meeting scheduled for today after school. We will meet in the library at 2:45. Again, the debate meeting for today is at 2:45 in the media center.
The (Japanese) ANIME CLUB will be selling PIZZA every WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY after school through SPRING 2016. Savory Pepperoni and Cheese SLICES of Just out of the Oven Pizza will be available right after school. Delicious Fare to satisfy the appetites of any WOLVERINE!

Come out and support Watkins Mill Spirit Night at Ledo Pizza in Montgomery Village on December 15 from 4pm to 10 pm. Dine in or carry out, BUT be sure to tell your server/cashier you re with WMHS, so we get 20 percent of sales generated by our school!
Youth & Government is a program that promotes youth in government. You don t have to be a senator to have a voice in the community. Even if you aren't that interested in government you can find a place in the program. Attend the informational meeting Tuesday, December 8th 2:45 pm in the media center to learn about the program, the amazing SSL opportunities, field trips, and more! To all seniors participating in the on the spot admissions event on December 11. Complete the admissions application now for each school for which you are interviewing. This needs to be done before December 11.
Watkins Mill will host its annual College Financial Aid Night on January 13 at 7 pm. Learn how to find money to pay for college. This info is especially important for parents/guardians of seniors but all are welcome to attend. Info presented in both English and Spanish.

Seniors: Looking for money for college? Check out the scholarships listed on the College/Career Center page. Apply for all for which you qualify. Make sure that your application is complete and that you adhere to all deadlines.
This is an important message to all college bound seniors: Each senior should submit the Free Application For Federal Student Aid. You can t submit it until January 1 but you can get your FSA ID now. Your parents need one too. Go to FSAID.ed.gov to apply. One more time, that s FSAID.ed.gov.
