RULES (RIALACHA) 1. The adjudicator s decision is final. 2. Age taken as at 1 st January 2019. 3. Entries only accepted from teachers registered with An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha. 4. All competitoin are open to all dancers worldwide. 5. In Bun and Tus Grad, up to and including under 12, make-up and tan is not permitted. 6. In Bun and Tus Grad, dancers may only wear class costume or day clothes. No solo costumes are permitted. 7. Bun Grad competitions are confined to dancers who have never won 1 st prize, or had been re-graded, in that particular dance in any grade or age. Basic steps must be performed. 8. Tus Grad competitions are confined to dancers who have never won 1 st prize, or had been re-graded, in that particular dance in Tus grad or higher. 9. Mean Grad competitions are confined to dancers who have never won 1 st prize in that particular dance in mean or higher. 10. No block, en point, stationary or moving will be allowed for all ages up to and including under 12. 11. Dances permitted in Light dance are: Reel, Light Jig, Slip Jig or Single Jig. 12. Dances permitted in Heavy dance are: Heavy Jig, Hornpipe or St Patricks Day. 13. Dances permitted in Traditional Set Dance are: St. Patricks Day, Blackbird, Job of Journey Work, Garden of Daisies, King of the Fairies, Three Sea Captains or Jockey to the Fair. 14. Any form of unauthorised photography which has the capability to capture a dancer s image whilst in motion, using electronic or manual means e.g. mobile phone, standard camera, video camcorder, cine recorder, commercial film, with or without flash enhancement, is strictly prohibited. 15. Any objections must be lodged in writing within one hour of result, accompanied by fee of 20 16. A dancer may enter a preliminary competition as per Leinster ruling if: A. They have not placed 1 st, 2 nd or 3 rd in an Open Championship which has been judged by three or more adjudicators, in the current calendar year. B. They have not qualified for the World Championships or are a current medal holder C. They have not won a Preliminary Championship in that calendar year. Upgrades for Bun and Tus grade. 1-20 Competitors 1 st Place re-graded 21-40 Competitors 1 st & 2 nd places re-graded 41+ Competitors 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd places re-graded. N.B.
