Spring Week 10 23rd March 2018 The Goosnargh Gazette Composer of the Month: Charlotte Bray https://www.youtube.com/w atch?v=plndux263q8 Christian value of the month: Justice Artist of the Month: Gustav Klimt Easter Service What a lovely end to our half term. Thank you to all the families that attended. We said thank you to Nicola Taylor in church for her years of service as a governor as her term comes to an end. We are very grateful to her for her hard work and insightful contribution to the governing body. Thankyou Thank you to Mr Harrison who helped us take the stage down on Monday. Sports Round-up What a fantastic, busy week of sport! Monday: The football team played three games where they drew two and won one. Some brilliant goals scored by Oliver, Toby, Matthew and Isaac. Well done boys. Tuesday: The Football and Netball team played at the Barnacre Road tournament at Longridge High HAPPY EASTER! We wish you a wonderful Easter. We will see you all back in school on Monday, 9th April. Egg Rolling What fun we had rolling our eggs! Well done everyone who took part with such sportsmanship. Congratulations to the overall winner Emilia Tipper from Reception! REPORTS Your child has been sent home with their Spring report. There is a section for your parental comments which we welcome. Please sign and return the reports after Easter. You may make a copy yourself or tick to request a photocopy. SPORTS RELIEF We have had a fantastic week of sport in aid of Sport Relief. On Monday, children took part in

School. Although neither team got into the semi-finals, they played extremely well. Wednesday: The Year 5 Hockey team went to Longridge High School. For some of these children, it was the first time playing hockey. We improved with our skills throughout the competition, and were unfortunate not to make it to the finals. However, we now have some very enthusiastic hockey players. We also had a cross country competition on this day, where six children competed. Thursday: The football team played away at Broughton Primary School. Unfortunately, we came away with a 4-0 defeat. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those parents that have been involved in helping with transport this week. Miss Shepherd circuit training. Tuesday involved the whole school taking part in a mile run around Goosnargh. They all were successful and did extremely well. Finally, on Wednesday each class took part in a fitness video led by the Body Coach - Joe Wicks. We will share the overall total raised after the Easter Holiday. PE KITS There are a great number of children who do not have the correct items in their PE kits. Please ensure missing items are replaced and PE pumps fit correctly. PE is an important part of the curriculum and also is very beneficial for numerous reasons. EASTER BINGO We had an egg-cellent Easter Bingo night on Thursday and raised an eggs-tremely impressive 749.50! Thank you to all of our families who donated to the boxes and came along and supported us on the night. Class Assembly Date: 27th April 2018 (9am in Church) COMING UP AFTER EASTER.
