A Few Comments Regarding The 2010 Chatuge Gun Club Annual Meeting Due to space limitations, we can no longer hold our Annual Meetings in the Senior Center. Too many people! We will be meeting again this year at the Anderson Music Hall located at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. This year we will plan to open the doors and begin taking 2010-2011 annual dues ($35) and handing out new gate keys and membership cards at about 5:30 P.M. You will need to enter through the Front entrance and we will have tables set up in the lobby to serve you. You will also be able to join or rejoin the NRA and we will rebate you $5 for a renewal and $10 for a first time joining. Memberships to the Georgia Sport Shooting Association, the official NRA organization in Georgia will also be available. See Carol Rosenqvist at her table for these memberships. Inside the auditorium, we plan to have tables set up for a swap meet of firearms related items. ALL FIREARMS will be inspected by a Club Officer and rendered inoperable prior to going on display. If you have firearms for sale or trade, make sure you check them in with one of the Officers. The plan at this time is to have NRA Executive Vice President, Wayne LaPierre attending the meeting to meet y all and discuss the future of our second amendment rights for protection the right to keep and bear arms in America. The meeting will begin as close to at or about 7 pm as possible. No keys will be issued after 7 pm. Yes, we will be giving away numerous door prizes again this year. The drawing will be using your 2010 key number, so make sure you have your dues paid up before the drawing. Remember, if you joined the Club this year, since 1 January 2010, you do not owe any additional fees BUT you must pick up your new key at the table marked Keys Only in order to be included in the drawings. Also, you will not be able to open the range gate lock after 1 June 2010 unless you have the new key. This will also be the meeting to keep or replace all the old Grouches on the board. You will have an opportunity to nominate and vote for your Officers for 2010-11. If you have someone you would like to nominate for the Board of Directors of the Chatuge Gun Club, contact Russ Schoetker who is heading the Nominating Committee again this y ear. Please remember to fill out the reservation slip below this message and mail it to the Club P.O. Box or call or email as directed, in order to make sure we have enough food and refreshments for you and your guests. If you do not respond, you will not receive food coupons at the meeting. A short report on the Work Party All In A Day s Work Trap Shooters clean-up of the wads fired on the range last year. The 20 March work party was a success with no one getting over worked. Frank, once again made life pretty easy with his bushhog and dump truck. More than adequate volunteers showed up and the job was done by 10 o clock or so. Thanks to volunteers: Frank Alexander, Mike Hill, Robert (Bob) Lamm, Bill Christine, John Hagan, Paul Danner, Richard Smith, Mark Stratton, Mitch Floyd, Arthur Mott, Gene Blackburn, Sid Turner, Fred Anderson, Bill Heath, Mike Alexander, Timothy Baker, Frank Nullet, Ed Jones & Nelson Fagan. The guys in the photo hereafter referred to as the Wad Squad appear to be Ken Mears, Ken Conner, Lee Howard and Gene Margelli did a gangbuster s job of cleaning up the thousands of shotgun wads accumulated throughout the year. I am reasonably sure Dick Fille is behind the camera. Thanks to all that helped. It worked out fairly well last time so we will do it the same way again. We will shoot.22 s starting at 10:00 AM on May 8 th. We will shoot the.22 s until 1:30 PM and at that time we will stop no matter where we are and set up for the STEEL PLATE MATCH By: Nelson Fagan center fire starting at 2:00 PM. Please be there at 9:30 AM so that we can get started on time. We have to move right along to get both matches in and if you are late it probably won t be possible to work you in. Rumor has it that we will be visited by NRA Executive Vice President, Wayne LaPierre & Herb Lanford, NRA Board of Directors & Chairman NRA Clubs & Associations Department at our 2010 Chatuge Gun Club Annual Meeting. Come and see if the rumor is true!!
