The Trojans face a winless Big Green team on Saturday (March 28) at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT) at Scully-Fahey Field in Hanover, N.H. The Women of Troy then have to take on an undefeated squad of Eagles on Monday (March 30) at 12 p.m. ET (9 a.m. PT) at Newton Field in Newton, Mass. USC and Dartmouth will meet for the first time in program history, but the Trojans have a deep connection with the Big Green as assistant coach Devon Will was an award-winning goaltender at Dartmouth and helped the Green to the NCAA title game in 2006. The Women of Troy will get a second crack at Boston College after falling to the Eagles in a 13-10 decision at McAlister Field in 2014. The Trojans are on a program-record six-game winning streak through which they have outscored opponents, 97-35. USC s offense has been effective thanks in part to the team s dominance in the center circle where the Trojans have won the draw control battle in all eight games this season with a 118-65 edge. The Trojans offense is led by junior attacker Caroline de Lyra, who has 34 points (18g, 16a). Sophomore attacker Michaela Michael is the MPSF draw control leader with 55 (6.88 dcpg) and has 21 goals and five assists this season. Junior midfielder Amanda Johansen also has 21 goals to go with three assists and is second on the team with 26 draw controls. Sophomore attacker Kylie Drexel was named the league s offensive player of the week following a five-goal outburst in USC s 11-4 win over Marquette. Drexel has 20 points (12g, 8a). USC s offensive line also features depth as six other players have scored more than one goal this season. Sophomore attacker Caroline Cordrey has eight goals off the bench and is a threat to dodge her way to the goal at any time. Sophomore attackers Cynthia Del Core and Annie Ruland have each scored six goals apiece while six additional players have at least one goal each this spring. Defensively, junior Courtney Tarleton leads a stingy Trojan backline with 10 caused turnovers and has 11 ground balls. Freshman goalie Gussie Johns tops all Trojans with 16 ground balls and has four caused turnovers when she steps out of the crease. Johns has produced 25 saves (.347) with a 6.62 goals-against average that leads the MPSF and ranks eighth in the country. Senior defender Elizabeth Eddy has 11 ground balls (6 dc, 5 ct). Sophomore Nina Kelty rounds out the Trojans defense with four ground balls, draw controls, and caused turnovers.

Thanks to a $150,000 donation from Hobart and Soni McAlister, a new field was built on the corner of 30th and Hoover in 1998. The field served as the home of USC soccer for 14 years before lacrosse was added as USC s 21st varsity sport in 2012. In 2000, a permanent scoreboard was installed, and in 2012, the field was moved eastward to accommodate the planned construction of a new fire station. USC lacrosse is 13-8 (.619) on McAlister Field since the 2013 season. The Women of Troy have hosted one home game at the LA Memorial Coliseum in each of the program s first three seasons and are 1-2 in the historic venue.

USC Head Coach Lindsey Munday One of the most accomplished collegiate women s lacrosse players in the history of the sport, Lindsey Munday was handpicked to lead the first-ever USC women s lacrosse team. She was officially hired on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011. Munday s mantle includes a pair of NCAA titles won as a player with the Northwestern program in 2005 and 2006. She then became an assistant at NU where she helped the Wildcats to another three titles from 2007-09. A member of the 2009 US women s national team where she earned All-World recognition with 17 goals and 20 assists for 37 points in seven games. Munday captained the 2013 US national team to a record seventh FIL World Cup title and added nine goals and 15 assists to her international career totals. 26 years old when she was chosen to head the Women of Troy, Munday has compiled a 23-21 (.523) overall record at USC and has guided the Trojans to two consecutive MPSF tournament appearances. She arrived after a brief stint as the head coach at Mount St. Mary s in Maryland. In her first season on campus, she exceeded the expectations of fellow MPSF coaches and took the Trojans to a fourth-place finish and an appearance in the league tourney after USC was picked to finish seventh in the federation. Munday was the top assistant at Northwestern (2007-10) as the recruiting coordinator and offensive coach. Northwestern was 85-4 during her tenure and went 23-0 in 2009. The Wildcats won three NCAA titles (2007-09), and advanced to the championship game in 2010. At NU, she tutored several All-Americans, including Tewaaraton Trophy winners Kristen Kjellman and Hannah Nielsen. Regarded as one of the greatest players in NU history, Munday was a Tewaaraton Trophy semifinalist in 2005 and 2006. She finished her career as the program s alltime leader in assists (128), third in points (268), and fifth in goals (140). Munday also set single-season NU records for points (107) and assists (54) in 2005. The Wildcats were 64-12 and won the school s first-ever NCAA titles in the sport. Munday helped Northwestern become the first school outside the Eastern Time zone to win a national title and the first program to win consecutive NCAA championships. A two-time first team All-American (2005-06), All-Region, and All- American Lacrosse Conference selection, she also earned All-Region second team laurels in 2004. Munday received ALC All-Conference second-team notice in 2003 and 2004 and made the NCAA All-Tournament team in 2005. She received a bachelor s degree in communications from Northwestern in 2006. Covie Stanwick (28g, 13a) and Caroline Margolis (24g, 17a) lead the Eagles with 41 points each. Zoe Ochoa has 65 saves with a.471 save percentage in the 10 wins. TRACK THE TROJANS: Fans of USC women s lacrosse can follow the Trojans on Twitter and Instagram. For a behind-the-scenes look at the program, scores, and news updates, follow @USCTrojansLax. All of USC s non-televised 2015 home games at McAlister Field will be webcast on USCTrojans.com via the Pac-12 Networks web portal. LAST TIME OUT: The Trojans cruised to a 16-2 halftime lead over MPSF foe Saint Mary s College and completed a 20-7 win to push their program-record winning streak to six games. USC out-shot the Gaels, 30-13, and won the center circle for the eighth straight game with a 15-13 edge. Junior attacker Caroline de Lyra had six points with a season-best five assists and a goal while three players scored at least three goals apiece including sophomores Michaela Michael and Annie Ruland, and junior Amanda Johansen. The Trojans caused 14 of the 20 Saint Mary s turnovers and stopped the Gaels in transition on 10 of 18 clear attempts. MPSF WEEKLY HONORS: The MPSF has honored Trojans for four weekly awards this season. Junior attacker Caroline de Lyra and senior defender Elizabeth Eddy received offensive and defensive player of the week honors on Feb. 9. Sophomore attacker Kylie Drexel was named for the offensive award and was joined by freshman goalie Gussie Johns who took home Rookie of the Week honors on March 16. POLL POSITION: On Feb. 9, 2015, USC received its first-ever votes in both the IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women s Lacrosse Coaches Association) poll and the Inside Lacrosse media poll. Just outside the top-20 rankings, the Trojans were No. 22 (IWLCA) and No. 21 (Inside Lacrosse) respectively. Since that week, the Women of Troy have been intermittently featured on ballots to receive votes in subsequent pollings. EAST COAST BIAS: The Trojans have two trips to the East Coast this spring. In the first of the two, USC met No. 16 Stony Brook and Marist in the Empire State. The Women of Troy fell to the Seawolves, 7-4, but turned around to beat the Red Foxes, 11-7. USC is 9-9 in road games during its first three seasons. The Trojans are 2-5 when they travel to the East Coast. USC makes a return trip to face Dartmouth (March 28) and Boston College (March 30) in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, respectively. TROJANS PICKED THIRD IN MPSF: A preseason poll of head coaches in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation had the Trojans in third place. USC trailed defending regular-season and tournament champion Denver, which received seven first-place votes to hold the top spot, and perennial conference power Stanford, which had the other three first-place ballots. It is the second year in a row that the coaches have tabbed USC third. The Trojans finished 2014 in a tie for third place. In the program s inaugural season, USC was selected to finish in seventh place, but exceeded expectations with a fourth-place finish.

The Women of Troy started the season with Northwestern, which was a national semifinalist a year ago. Boston College (Mar. 30) was an NCAA quarterfinalist in 2014. Stony Brook (Feb. 21) and Denver (April 12) each advanced to the second round, and Stanford (April 19) made a first-round appearance. In addition, Marist has NCAA tournament experience, as does Dartmouth, which was the 2006 national runner-up. STATE YOUR CASE: The Trojans roster is made up of players from 10 different states. New Jersey leads the way with 10. Nine squadwomen come from New York while eight are from California. USC has two players from the state of Georgia and one each from Colorado, Connecticut, Minnesota, Oregon, Virginia, and Washington. The Trojans also have one player from Washington, D.C. IN CONTROL: Junior midfielder Amanda Johansen has amassed 181 draw controls in her career. She set the MPSF single-season record with 100 draw controls in 2013. Sophomore attacker Michaela Michael has followed Johansen closely and now has 100 in her career. She is the league s single-game record holder with 15 against Fresno State on Feb. 24, 2014. WELL GROUNDED: Junior defender Courtney Tarleton led the Trojans with 23 caused turnovers in 2014 and was second on the squad with 33 ground balls. Tarleton set a new USC single-game record with eight ground balls against Northwestern on April 26 during a historic game at Wrigley Field in Chicago. She is the program s career leader with 84 ground balls and 65 caused turnovers. ROCKIN ROOKIES: USC s incoming freshman class is ranked No. 5 by Inside Lacrosse. With just four incoming players, the Trojans struck hard on the recruiting trail and have brought in the country s No. 6-rated prospect in goalie Gussie Johns (Washington, D.C.) and the No. 8-ranked recruit in midfielder Lydia Sutton (Minnetonka, Minn.). Johns is considered the top-rated goalie in the class while Sutton is a member of the Canadian National Team. Johns and Sutton are joined by freshman midfielder Kelly Brown (Vienna, Va.) and attacker Alexis Kardias (Westfield, N.J.). This is the second recruiting class ranked in the top 10 for the Women of Troy. USC s 2014 freshmen were rated 10th-best by Inside Lacrosse. DOUBLE AGENT: Senior midfielder Elizabeth Eddy was also a four-time letterwinner on USC s women s soccer team. The Trojans leading scorer in 2013, she was selected on Jan. 17 by Sky Blue FC in the 2014 National Women s Soccer League draft as the 33rd overall pick. Eddy had six goals in her senior season and finished her soccer career with 16 goals and nine assists. She started 69 games out of her 76 appearances and scored three game-winning goals. She stands at No. 10 all-time in career goals scored, and earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention, 2010 Pac-10 All-Freshman Team, and 2013 Pac-12 Player of the Week. Eddy s father Park Eddy played water polo for USC and was a member of the U.S. national team. She is also the great granddaughter of Arnold Eddy, a head administrator for USC athletics in the 1930 s and 40 s. Her goal is to become a registered dietician and inspire people to be healthy in mind, body, and spirit, on a daily basis. 2015 Honors and Awards #3 Gussie Johns MPSF Rookie of the Week (Mar. 16) #23 Kylie Drexel MPSF Offensive Player of the Week (Mar. 16) #25 Caroline de Lyra MPSF Offensive Player of the Week (Feb. 9) #27 Elizabeth Eddy MPSF Defensive Player of the Week (Feb. 9) AMBASSADOR OF THE GAME: Junior attacker Caroline Cordrey helped organize a fastest lacrosse shot competition for her team in an effort to raise funds for local non-profit Fields of Growth. The organization runs a campaign that works to share the sport of lacrosse and sustain the Ugandan National Team. An ambassador of the sport both at home and abroad, Cordrey s efforts helped bring in more than $1,500 for the cause, the secondhighest amount by any university. At the front of the pack was Cordrey, who herself had raised $500, not to mention clocking in with a 68 miles-per-hour shot. SOMMI SMARTS: Senior captain Kaila Sommi was one of just 233 student-athletes from 79 different NCAA Division I schools to be chosen for the IWLCA s DI Academic Honor Roll. She was also an integral piece to USC s selection as one of 83 IWLCA Academic Honor Squads in 2014. Sommi is a two-time MPSF All-Academic honoree and was a High School Academic All-American as a senior at Montgomery HS in New Jersey. UNDER INVESTIGATION: Junior goalie Liz Shaeffer has her eyes set on one day becoming an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She is currently majoring in sociology and is also an avid fan of television crime dramas. LEGGY MY EGGY: Junior midfielder Alexandra Plastaras acquired a unique nickname when she was a baby. Born to a father with Greek roots, and a Korean mother, she was called Eggy by her mother. Eggy (sometimes spelled eggi ) means baby in Korean. TWIN KEYS: The USC roster has a pair of twins on it, but you would never be able to tell by looking. Glade and Shannon Nugent were born together on Dec. 21, 1994, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Charles and Connie Nugent. The two Women of Troy are fraternal twins. The pair of freshmen from Shawnee HS (Medford, N.J.) were pieces of USC s top 10 recruiting class of 2013.
