Community 4-H Pride Hodgeman County 4-H Newsletter Oct-Nov, 2016 All Hodgeman County 4-Hers are asked to decorate a 4 Leaf Clover that represents how 4-H has helped you grow. This may be illurated through a few sentences or visually through photos, drawings or images. Be Creative! Put Your Be Foot Forward... Bring your decorated Clovers to the 4-H Building on Oct 1 for the Achievement Reception. Clovers will then be displayed in the Courthouse during National 4-H Week. See this newsletter for the Clover template. As we art a new 4-H year, remember these basic rules for making people feel welcome: 1. Greet your visitors at the door when they arrive. Be sure to arrive early so you can meet them. When you see a new person, take the fir ep and introduce yourself to them. 2. Introduce them (and their family) to other members and parents. Name tags help too! 3. Tell them about the opening ceremony part of the meeting so they know what to expect. Give them a copy of the 4-H pledge so they can follow along. 4. Introduce them to the group. You could do this during roll call. When it s your turn and after you have answered, you can say And I d like for you to meet my gue Charlie Brown. He goes to my school and is also in the 3rd grade. Another alternative would be to have the president introduce them to the group. Make sure they are introduced towards the beginning of the meeting so that others can welcome them during and after the meeting. Sit next to them during the meeting. Introduce them to others. 5. Involve them in the recreation activities. 6. Invite your gues to go fir for refreshments. 7. After the meeting, send them a note thanking them for attending and invite them to the next meeting.
