A note from the... As a Board, it is our ultimate goal to provide activities and services at the Club which meet the expectations and desires of our members. Currently, our Entertainment and Outdoor Activities Committees are planning a joint meeting to develop ideas for future events and activities which we hope will encourage more of our members to take advantage of what DCC has to offer. We certainly welcome any ideas you might have, and hope you will share your thoughts with Jack Cammack, Henry King, Don Daily, or Lisa McMichael. The Membership Committee, headed by Bill Brown, is reviewing the benefits available to members and the costs associated with each category of membership. We are seeking to provide an appropriate balance between what you pay for membership, and the benefits you receive. We have to continue recruiting new members, but we also want our existing members to feel they are getting good value for their money. If you have any ideas or questions, please talk to Jack or Bill. The Maintenance Committee, under the leadership of Billy Frost, has worked with our staff to thoroughly inspect our physical plant and develop a list of needs which we hope to address over the next few years. We have found some things which need to be fixed or repaired immediately to avoid any long-term damage to our facilities. There are other things which we feel should be done to either improve the appearance of our facilities, or make them function more efficiently. We are gathering estimates of potential costs, and will need to put the various projects in order of priority. If you have concerns about our physical facilities, please mention them to Jack or Billy. Finally, as we continue the search for a General Manager, the Board wants again to express our appreciation for the way our staff has stepped up to insure the operation of DCC continues as smoothly as possible. We encourage each of you to take the opportunity to thank them personally for all they are doing to make your club experience enjoyable. Update from the course.. Hello from the course: The preemergent/ post emergent program has been completed on the fairways we felt were established enough to handle the materials. We will be altering the program on 10,14,15 and 18. I am making this change as we will be aggressively fertilizing and grow healthier turf in those fairways. These fairways have shown substantial wear and tear from storm damage clean up. We have several small projects that are taking longer to complete with the poor weather. The flag pole will be installed at the entrance. This one will be lighted correctly. We will be completing the painting of the buildings on the course prior to the Easter Seals event. We are pleased to have two high school teams using the course this spring. (Trinity and Dublin High) We have them scheduled to use the course on light play members days. They will be out on Wednesday after 3:00 pm using only the putting green for short game work. We also requested that they avoid the course during the weekends. We felt that this provided them opportunities to use the facilities and had limited impact the membership. The Dublin High tournaments are all 9 holes with dates of March 5, 12, 26th. The last tournament is April 16th. We will close the first tee at 2:00 PM and then shotgun the players around 3:15 to 3:30. (the back nine holes will remain open for any member play) Trinity will be hosting one tournament on April 6th. They will be starting at 2:00 PM. We are expecting 24 players which will require using the entire course. We will close the course to outside play around 12:00 pm and anticipate opening back up around 4:30 to 5:00 pm for evening member play. Hopefully we won't impact the membership and this is great for our community and opportunity to have youth prospects play our course. I would hope that this might lead us to adding additional members. Please keep helping us with filling divots and repairing ball marks. We thank you for all your assistance.
