January s Book: The Boys In The Boat Author: Daniel James Brown Fitness & Memberships Find your Motivation! People are motivated by different things. It's important to first discover what your individual goals are. Whether it's losing weight, strengthening and toning or just offsetting the caloric intake of the Holiday Season, goals aren't enough to get you there. You have to be motivated by the day-to-day workouts. Choose something you'll enjoy doing and will be likely to keep doing, whether it's walking or hiking with a friend, working with a trainer or taking part in a "boot camp" class. Creating a challenge for yourself will motivate you, as will encouragement and accountability. You want to know when you're doing a good job and when you're not. Remember too, that anything worth having takes work. Can you tell me something you can do three times a week for 10 minutes and be great at? It doesn't exist. Accountability is one of the most important parts to any fitness goals. Find a friend or loved one to hold you accountable, even if they do not participate. Having someone keeping track of the goals you set can be a great help. Try something new this month. We have a few fitness activities going on. Body toning - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7:30am.
