Dear Volleyball Parents and Players, BLAINE JV AND VARSITY INVITATIONAL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENTS The Blaine High School Volleyball Program will be hosting its annual Blaine Invitational Volleyball tournaments on Saturday, September 10, 2016 and Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at Blaine High School Field house. Our JV team will be playing on Saturday, September 10, 2016 and Varsity will be playing in the Saturday, October 1, 2016 tournament. As members of the BHS volleyball program, all players and their parents of all of our volleyball teams are expected to work the tournaments. Head coaches are in charge of organizing the girls in their job duties and shifts and we are responsible for coordinating the parents. One parent from each family member playing volleyball is needed to work a 3-4 hour shift in concessions, admissions, set-up (Friday afternoon) or take down at one of the Saturday tournaments. Player Work Assignments: JV Tourney: 9B, and Varsity Varsity Tourney: JV, B Squad and 9A In addition, we are asking teams to donate various foods that we sell in the concession stand to complete this tournament fundraiser for our program. Each player will need to give their Team Coordinator $20.00. The TC can either purchase the items or find a volunteer to purchase them and deliver to BHS at the concession stand between 4:00 pm and no later than 5:30 pm at set-up. The assigned food is found in the team coordinator packet and will be the same for both tournaments. Parents, we will have the volunteer sign-up sheet with us at the next few games and also check the volleyball website for additional information and volunteers needed for the tournaments thanks in advance. Sincerely, Any questions, please direct them to: Dale Rogers: 763.377.2328 Michelle Rogers: 763.516.8859 Tournament Concessions Coordinators

FUNDRAISING CORNER Fundraising Coordinator: Kim Larsen Any questions? Email Kim at bklarsen@q.com Why do we raise funds? The fee we pay for our daughters to play volleyball covers the gym, the buses to away games and 5 coaches. That is it. We fundraise to give our daughters the best experience they can have. Some of the things that the dollars we raise go towards are: quality volleyballs, uniforms, extra (very needed) coaching staff, nets, quality poles, video equipment to be used for practice planning and quality recruiting videos, offsetting the price of the year end banquet, pasta dinners and much more. How do we raise funds? Our main fundraising activity is our raffle tickets. We do the raffle, because it is different then what is everyone else does. It also means our players only have to go out once. They aren t pre-selling items that can be bulky or require timely pick-up/delivery. How the Fundraiser works: The players are expected to sell 30 tickets each. The tickets are $10.00 for a total of $300.00/player. The monies are to be collected and turned in with the ticket stubs as sold. Turn them in to your team coordinator at games. You don t have to wait until you sell all 30. The drawing will be held on 10/1/2016. New Incentive: This year, the incentive is simple. At the meeting on 08/18/2016, pay for all 30 raffle tickets ($300.00,CASH/CHECK ONLY). Then sell them as you normally would. After you turn in all 30 ticket stubs you will be given your spandex, tshirt and socks ($50 value). Other $$$ making opportunities: for us to raise extra money. We also have a few partnerships in place that make it easy CubFoods (Northtown Location). Bagging for tips. This year it will be on September 2, 2016. 10AM - 6PM. No short shorts, no open toe shoes, and please pull hair back. Ratio requested is 1 Adult per 4 players. Blaine location only. Every time you, friends, family eat at Chili s, tell them you are with Blaine Volleyball and we will earn 10% of your bill. Spread the word! This fundraiser runs all year so every time you go to Chili s, just remember to tell your server. This is a super easy way for us to make some money!

Welcome to the 6th Annual Janette Paulson Classic.
