Nominations and fixtures: Please note that it is the team s responsibility to find out their team s fixtures. Teams will not be called regarding their games times. All fixtures and results are available on our website http://life.curtin.edu.au/curtin-stadium/social-sport.htm this link will be emailed to team captains and vice captains prior to the first week of competition. Management reserves the right to add and change any game times where necessary. All teams can expect to get an even spread of game time slots over the season. Game times are between 6.00pm and 10.00pm although games could run early and/or later depending on team numbers. Changes to playing grade must be made in the first three weeks of competition (if applicable). These changes will be made at the discretion of the Sports Program Coordinator. Changes will be made in the following instances: o A team requests a grade change. Any requests must be made to the Sports Program Coordinator on 9266 7052 or email socialsports@curtin.edu.au o The Sports Program Coordinator and/or Umpires believe that a team is not compatible with the grade that they are currently playing in. Teams can contact the Sports Program Coordinator on 9266 7052 for any general enquiries. 1. The Playing Area Curtin Stadium Main Arena indoor air-conditioned courts. 2. The Ball Curtin Sports will provide an approved futsal ball. 3. Players Each team will made up of five (5) players, one of whom shall be the goalkeeper. In Mixed Futsal, a maximum of only three males on field at any one time is permitted. If a team has an incorrect ratio, it either plays with less players (4 2 males and 2 females) or plays a friendly game with the incorrect ratio but is credited with an automatic loss. The umpire and both team captains must agree upon an automatic loss prior to the start of the game. There is no limit to the number of players on the bench.

The goalkeeper is allowed to use their hands but only in the specified goal area. The goal area is an area five (5) metres out from the goalmouth and two (2) metres out from each goal post (the black D). Players can only play for their registered teams. i. Players can only fill-in for teams that play in the division below their team or higher. (Example: player from division 1 can only fill-in for division 1&2 a player from division 3 can fill-in for divisions 1, 2, 3, 4.) ii. Teams that bring a player from 2 or more divisions higher will not receive competition points for that game (forfeit loss). 4. Player Equipment All players are required to wear a team uniform consisting of the same coloured tops by the end of grading or the third week of competition. Point penalties will be enforced for those wearing a different coloured shirt (1 goal per incorrect shirt). All players must remove objects such as watches/jewellery (taping of facial jewellery is expected) that may be dangerous to other players. A wedding band or a medic alert bracelet may be worn but must be appropriately taped. Nails must be cut or covered Footwear: No studs are permitted. 5. To Play All weekly game fees must be paid prior to the start of scheduled games. Teams will receive a team sheet when they pay at reception players must initial the team sheet and hand to the umpire prior to the game. No Team sheet = No Game. Not only does it keep the other team waiting, late starts affect the whole evening s fixture times, therefore the clock will start running at the scheduled time. If a team is late, they will be penalised accordingly and the game will go on. Penalties: 1 5 minutes late 1 goal 5 8 minutes late 2 goals 8 10 minutes late 3 goals Games will be forfeited if a team is not ready to play within ten (10) minutes of scheduled game time. 6. Substitution of Players During the course of the game, each team may use an unlimited number of substitutes. Substitutions may take place if they don t interfere with the play. The referee must be informed of a change of goal keeper. 7. Length of the Game Games will consist of two (2) x seventeen and a half (17.5) minute halves with a two (2) minute break at half time. The length of the game will be extended for penalty kicks only. (if required in finals) 8. Methods of Scoring A goal is scored when the whole of the ball passes over the goal line between the goal posts and under the crossbar, provided it has not been thrown, carried or

intentionally propelled by hand or arm, by a player of the attacking side, except in the case of the defending goalkeeper, who is within his own penalty area. Goals cannot be scored directly off a kick off, unless it has been deflected/touched by another player on the court. Goals cannot be scored directly off a sideline kick in, except if it has been deflected/touched by any other player on the court. Goals can be scored directly from corners 9. Fouls and Free Kicks: If referees decisions are not adhered to, infringing players may be asked to adjust or be warned and penalties and free passes may be advanced (at the referee s discretion). There will be no play of accumulated fouls. Fouls All infringements within the field of play will be awarded a direct free kick. A direct free kick or (penalty kick if the infringement occurs in the goal area) will be awarded to the opposing team for the following infringements where a player: o Kicks or attempts to kick an opponent o Trips an opponent o Jumps at or throws himself at an opponent o Charges at an opponent from behind unless the latter is obstructing o Charges at an opponent in a violent or dangerous manner o Strikes or attempts to strike at an opponent o Holds an opponent o Pushes an opponent o Slides in an attempt to play the ball, touching an opponent(sliding tackle) o Handles the ball, except for the goalkeeper in his area o Charges an opponent with the shoulder o Keeper handles the ball outside the goal area. o Playing in a manner considered by the referee to be dangerous (eg. Attempting to kick the ball out of the goalkeeper s hands) o When not playing the ball, intentionally obstructing an opponent o A delay by the goalkeeper for more than 5 seconds putting the ball back into play after he/she has received it or the ball declared into play o Obstructing the play of the ball, by falling on it, by holding the ball with your feet, or preventing the movement of the body (with the exception of the goal keeper) o After having put the ball into play, touching it a second time before another player touches it o Any player who delays the game by more than 5 seconds by putting the ball in play from a free kick, goal kick or penalty kicks. o To use a verbal expression in order to distract his opponent with the intention of gaining an unfair advantage o Keeper throws the ball over the half way line, free kick is taken from the half way line where the ball crossed. An indirect free kick will be taken only after the keeper picks up a back pass from his own team. In this instance the free kick will be taken from the edge of the area 10. The Penalty Kick

This is taken from the penalty mark, which will be 6 steps out from the goalmouth. At the moment of the kick, the goalkeeper will be on his own goal line and all the other players apart from the player taking the kick will be at the white D (basketball 3 point line). The penalty kicker cannot touch the ball twice in a row. In the event of a penalty shoot out, the goalkeeper from the defending teams cannot be changed between penalties (unless severely injured). The player is allowed a maxium of 5 steps before kicking the ball at goal. 11. Duty of Care For the safety of all social sport participants a penalty will be given against any player, for deliberately or recklessly playing in a manner that does, or could potentially cause harm to another player, as determined by the umpire. It includes unfair play, dangerous play and misconduct that does not meet accepted standards of good sportsmanship. The DoC penalty will be decided by the umpire/s dependant on the situation, but may result in penalty, send-off, suspension or banning from the competition. 12. Competition Points Win = 3 points Draw = 2 points Loss = 1 point Forfeit = 0 points (7-0 LOSS) Bye = 0 points 13. General Rules There is no offside Goals may be scored from any point on the field but not directly from indirect free kicks, kick off and side balls. If the ball goes over the sideline, a kick in by the opposing team results. If the ball goes over the back line by an attacker, a goal throw results. If the ball goes over the back line by a defender, a corner kick results. Goals can be scored directly or indirectly from corners. The ball may be passed back to the goalie at which point the goalie is NOT allowed to handle the ball with their hands. When the goalie is in possession of the ball, they must play the ball within 5 seconds. Failure to do so will result in a free kick to the other team. No sliding or playing the ball while on the floor is permitted. Doing so will result in a free kick to the opposing team Keepers may never drop kick the ball. Keepers may never pass/roll the ball to themselves after they have picked it up. 14. Suspensions and Ejections Incidents of a dangerous or unsportsmanlike nature that are reported by a referee of an opposing team will be taken seriously. All information regarding the incident will be taken into account and decision on an appropriate resulting action will be made by the Sports Program Coordinator in consultation with a senior member of staff. Actions may include being removed from the game or venue when the incident occurs, an official warning or a suspension of at least (1) one game. 15. Forfeits and Withdrawals

Teams must attend every fixtured game for the season or notify the Sports Program Coordinator on 9266 7052 or socialsports@curtin.edu.au if they cannot attend a fixtured game and a forfeit will result. A game will be declared a forfeit when: o A team is not ready to play within (10) ten minutes of the scheduled start time; o A team fails to honour their fixtured game (this includes finals). Any team forfeiting will incur the following fine s: Any team that has notified the Sports Program Coordinator by 4.00pm the day of the fixture: Normal game fee for that chosen sport. Any team that does not show up to a fixture game without notifying the Sports Program Coordinator prior to 4.00pm the day of their fixture will be charged twice (2x) the Normal Game fee for that chosen sport. This is referred to as a NO SHOW FEE Should a team forfeit their game the forfeit fee must be paid the week proceeding a forfeit. Unfinancial teams will not receive competition points. Teams whose payments are up to date prior to their last game will receive their last game free as part of the fee paid at the time of registration. Teams with outstanding forfeit fees from previous season will not be eligible for the next season until all fees are paid. If a team forfeits their match, the opposing team will be awarded a win 7 0 and their game fee will be held over to the following week. Any team that withdraws from the competition throughout the season will be issued with a $200 withdrawal fee. 16. Finals Procedures To be eligible to play in the top 4 play-offs, a player must have played a minimum of 3 games during the season In the event of a draw in the final fixtures, the game will go to Golden Goal extra time consisting of four (4) minutes where the team who scores the first goal wins. In the event that it is still a draw after extra time, teams will go to penalty shoot out. There will be 5 kicks each team for the penalty shoot-out. 17. Have Fun! The referees and competition organiser have the right to review any rule stated above at any time prior to or during the competition. If a situation arises which is not mentioned above the referees and/or competition organiser will use their discretion in making a decision.
