A participant of any Group may enroll in a maximum of three (3) Sports/Games Activities. 2. A staff may enroll in only one (1) category event in team events. 3. In case a participant has 2 or 3 Sports/Games activities scheduled at the same time, the participant has to make a choice of one activity and can ultimately be replaced or substituted by another participant who has NOT already been enrolled in three (3) Sports/Games Activities. 4. In case any group has more participants than allowed per Sports/Games Activity, Group Leaders will have to proceed through a mode of selection. 5. Groups will be awarded points as follows per Sports/Games Activity (16 in all): 1 st 10 points, 2 nd 7 points, 3 rd 5 points, 4 th 3 points Page 3
RULES AND REGULATIONS OF SPORTS/GAMES ACTIVITIES 1. 5 A-SIDE INDOOR FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT FUTSAL 5 A-side (maximum of 10 players per team). Each Group to align a maximum of 2 teams. The tournament will be played in a pool format for the 1st round. A winning team three (3) points, a draw one (1) point to both teams and a defeat - zero (0) point. Each of the 2 pools will consist of 4 teams. The first two teams of each pool will move on to the semi-finals (1 st of Pool A v/s 2 nd of Pool B and 1 st of Pool B v/s 2 nd of Pool A). Each team will comprise of 5 active players including the goalkeeper and 5 substitutes will be permitted at any time during the play, provided the ball is out of play. Page 4
The player leaving the playing area must inform the referee and touch hands with the entering player near the bench area before the substitute can enter the play. The winners of the 2 semi-finals will meet for the grand final whereas the losers will face each other for the 3rd place. No player has the right to play in more than one team in the same Tournament. Players who receive 2 yellow cards or 1 red card will automatically not be eligible to play the next match. The match will be played of 2 halves of 10 minutes. There will be no offside rule. No dangerous play including sliding tackles from any direction violent and dangerous charging will not be allowed. Use of foul languages will be penalized. In case of foul play: (i) A yellow card will result in 2 minutes penalty and (ii) A red card will result in one match suspension. A goal area will be marked off in which the goalkeeper may handle the ball. All players must wear indoor athletic shoes. In the Semi-Finals, match for the 3 rd and 4 th place and Final - If the game stays tied there will be 3 penalties shoot out. If the tie persists, then sudden death will be applied. Page 5
2. VOLLEYBALL MIX (4 MEN & 2 WOMEN) 1 team per Group (Maximum of 12 players per team) At all-time at least 2 females should be part of the playing team of 6 players. The Referee s decisions need to be abided to with respectful conduct and minimum dispute. The winners of the 2 semi-finals will meet for the grand final whereas the losers will face each other for the 3rd place. The first team to win 25 points with a two-point lead wins the match. It is highly recommended that volleyball players make themselves available as there will be no delay for the match to start as per timetable. Page 6
3. TABLE TENNIS (S.MEN, S.WOMEN, D.MEN, D.WOMEN & D.MIX) Each Group should enroll a team comprising of: Single men, Single women, Double men, Double women and Double Mix (Total of 4 men and 4 women). Best of 3 sets of 11 points. Two-point difference is required, but will be capped to 20 points. The one reaching 20 points first, wins the set. All players must report to the Official Registration Table at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time of their matches. Failure to turn up will result in the opponent winning the match by walkover. The decision of the umpires and officials shall be deemed as final. Rackets and balls will be provided by UoM if required. A staff may enroll in only one event. The team winning at least three events is the winner. Page 7
4. BADMINTON (S.MEN, S.WOMEN, D.MEN, D.WOMEN & D.MIX) Each Group should enroll a team comprising of: Single men, Single women, Double men, Double women and Double Mix (Total of 4 men and 4 women). Best of 3 sets of 15 points. Two-point difference is required, but will be capped to 20 points. The one reaching 20 points first, wins the set. All players must report to the Official Registration Table at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time of their matches. Failure to turn up will result in the opponent winning the match by walkover. The decision of the umpires and officials shall be deemed as final. Players should bring along their own rackets, outfits and non-marking shoes. A staff may enroll in only one event. The team winning at least three events is the winner. Page 8
5. PETANQUE (S.MEN, S.WOMEN, D.MEN, D.WOMEN & D.MIX) Each Group should enroll a team comprising of: Single men, Single women, Double men, Double women and Double Mix (Total of 4 men and 4 women). All matches will be played on 13 points. A staff may enroll in only one event. The team winning at least three events is the winner. Page 9
6. POOL (S.MEN, S.WOMEN, D.MEN & D.MIX) Each Group may enroll a team comprising of: 1 Single men, 1 Single women, 2 Double men, and 1 Double Mix (Total of 6 men and 2 women). All matches will be played in the best of 3 frames. A staff may enroll in only one event. The team winning at least three events is the winner. Page 10
7. CARROM (S.MEN, S.WOMEN, D.MEN, D.WOMEN & D.MIX) Each Group should enroll a team comprising of: Single men, Single women, Double men, Double women and Double Mix (Total of 4 men and 4 women). Each match will be played in best of 3 rounds. A staff may enroll in only one event. The team winning at least three events is the winner. Page 11
8. DOMINO (D.MEN/D.WOMEN/D.MIX) Each Group should enroll a team comprising: 3 D.Men, 3 D.Women and 3 D.Mix (Total of 9 men and 9 women). Each match will be played in 1 round of 151 points. A staff may enroll in only one event. No communication (oral or by signs) will be allowed. Any team doing so will be eliminated and the opponent being declared as winner by walk-over. The team winning at least five matches is the winner. Page 12
9. 80 M (MEN & WOMEN) ATHLETICS Each Group should enroll a team comprising of 2 participants per event (Total of 2 men and 2 women). Points will be awarded as follows for each of the two events: 1 st 15 points, 2 nd 11 points, 3 rd 8 points, 4 th 6 points, 5 th 4 points, 6 th 1 point. The teams will be ranked based on the number of points obtained by each for the two events. Page 13
10. 800 M WOMEN AND 1500 M MEN Each Group should enroll a team comprising of 3 participants per event (Total of 3 men and 3 women). Points will be awarded as follows for each of the two events: 1 st 15 points, 2 nd 11 points, 3 rd 8 points, 4 th 6 points, 5 th 4 points, 6 th 1 point. The teams will be ranked based on the number of points obtained by each for the two events. Page 14
11. TUG OF WAR 2 teams per Group comprising of 5 Men and 5 Women. Football shoes and gloves are not allowed. Page 15
12. SPOON RACE (WOMEN) 30M DASH Each Group should enroll a team comprising of 5 participants (Total of 5 women). Points will be awarded as follows: 1 st 20 points, 2 nd 16 points, 3 rd 13 points, 4 th 11 points, 5 th 9 points, 6 th 7 points, 7 th 5 points, 8 th 3 points, 9 th 2 points, 10 th 1 point. The teams will be ranked based on the number of points obtained by the first ten participants. Rules and regulations will be communicated on the spot. Page 16
13. SAC RACE (MEN) Each Group should enroll a team comprising of 3 participants (Total of 3 men). Points will be awarded as follows: 1 st 20 points, 2 nd 16 points, 3 rd 13 points, 4 th 11 points, 5 th 9 points, 6 th 7 points, 7 th 5 points, 8 th 3 points, 9 th 1 point. The teams will be ranked based on the number of points obtained by the first nine participants. Rules and regulations will be communicated on the spot. Page 17
14. FILLING BOTTLE (WOMEN) Each Group should enroll a team comprising of 10 participants (Total of 10 women). Rules and regulations will be communicated on the spot. Page 18
15. SHOOTING BASKET (OPEN) Each Group should enroll a team comprising of 5 participants (Total of 5 men/women). Each participant will be allowed 5 penalty shoot outs. The teams will be ranked based on the number of successful goals obtained by each team. Page 19
16. MUSICAL CHAIR (WOMEN) Each Group should enroll a team of 10 participants (total of 10 women). There will be five musical chairs set-up with 8 participants each, two from each Group. Points will be awarded as follows for each of the five events: 1 st 10 points, 2 nd 7 points, 3 rd 5 points, 4 th 3 points, 5 th 1 point. The teams will be ranked based on the number of points obtained by each team. Rules and regulations will be communicated on the spot. Page 20
