UNCG's Stephanie Bryden also had a stellar pitching performance that same week, throwing a five-inning no-hitter against Virginia on Feb. 24. The SoCon continued its string of wins over Power 5 opponents as Furman topped Indiana twice last week. The SoCon has now won nine games against Power 5 conference this year. ETSU head coach Brad Irwin tied the ETSU all-time wins record following the 10-0 win over Colgate on Feb. 18. Irwin now has 129 wins in his eight-year tenure with the Bucs. In the first game, the senior recorded three hits, including a double, and scored three runs as the Bulldogs earned an 11-8 win. In the second contest of the day, the Morris, Alabama, native tallied two hits, one run and one RBI. Maze finished the day with five hits and four runs. The preseason co-player of the year, this is the first weekly award of her career. PITCHER OF THE WEEK Jill McElderry, Mercer, Sr., RHP McElderry tossed 12.0 innings and earned two wins last week as the Bears improved their record to 14-5 on the year. The senior started the week with six strikeouts against Lamar, scattering five hits in a complete-game effort. McElderry then went five innings in a win over Alcorn State, allowing just two hits and striking out seven. The Springhill, Florida, native finished the weekend with a 1.17 ERA and gave up just two runs. McElderry currently ranks first in the league in opposing batting average (.141), batters struck out looking (14) and runs allowed (9) and ranks in the top 10 in seven other statistical categories. This is the first weekly award of her career.

The Bulldogs will head to the Easton Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, this weekend on a two-game winning streak after sweeping a doubleheader against Alabama State. T-1 st Furman saw its 10-game winning streak come to an end on March 4 as the Paladins fell to Delaware State. The Paladins will hit the road for the first time in two weeks as they take part in the Holy City Showdown in Charleston, South Carolina, this weekend. Emily DeMonte's player of the month selection is the fourth in a row, dating back to last season, for Furman after Lindsey Bert took home all three honors last season.
