Again the weather gods looked after us on the weekend as we took on Sebas in sunny conditions. All bar the 12 seniors won on the day. It was pleasing for our Under 16.5s who have struggled for the majority of the year to both have good wins, with the Senior group winning with the last kick of the day getting them over the line in a thriller. This week we take on Redan at home on the main oval so GREEN shorts. Pie Night We will hold Pie Nights as follows:- Under 16.5 s Footballers Under 10 s & 12a Under 14 s This Thursday from 5.30 in the clubrooms Wednesday 17 th July Thursday 18 th July Netballers confirmation of times to follow. Footy Shorts There have been issues purchasing Lakers shorts this year but the good news is that new supplies have arrived at Sportzbiz. Canteen & BBQ URGENT: THIS SUNDAY; 1.30 4.30pm is in urgent need of at last 2 volunteers for canteen. Please contact Julie if you can help. We still need mums and dads to assist with the canteen and BBQ on home games.

MINERS GAME Saturday Night 20 th July... Come along and enjoy a fun filled night at the Miner Dome to see the Ballarat Rush and Ballarat Miners take on Nunawading. More information to follow. 2013 WOMEN IN FOOTBALL TRIBUTE After the success of its inaugural Women in Football Tribute Lunch in 2011, the Ballarat Football Netball League is pleased to announce that this bi-annual event will continue in 2013. Held in conjunction with the BFNL's Women In Football Round this year, the Women In Football Tribute Lunch is designed to acknowledge and showcase the fantastic work that women play not only in the Ballarat FNL, but in sport in general throughout the country. The girls reduced their amount of turn overs due to stepping dramatically this week. The girls scored

A very impressive persormance by all 9 girls this week. The girls drive through the centre court proved to be a big advantage today, as well as some very accurate shooting. Well done girls! U16.5 Reserves LAKERS 46 def. SEBASTOPOL 3 AWARDS: Olivia Aringo, Terryn Rodd, Beth Ferguson Good team effort and ball movement through the court. Defencive rebounds were solid and movement around goal circle improved. Well done girls. U16.5 Seniors LAKERS 29 def. SEBASTOPOL 14 AWARDS: Courtney O Connell, Jemima Mirabella, Maddi Thomas, Ellie Godson. An improvement in endeavor in the second half showed on the scoreboard out scoring the opposition 18 7 goals.
