RULES, REGULATIONS AND ENTRY FORM 19 TH AUGUST 2016 TO 22 ND AUGUST 2016 GWABI LODGE, CHIRUNDU The 2016 ALL SPECIES TOURNAMENT, a ZSFA Angler of the Year Series Event, shall be held at Gwabi from 19 th to 22nd August 2016. Rules, Regulations, Fees Entries are strictly limited to 25 (Twenty) teams of which 5 (Five) team places are reserved for Tournament sponsors. Entry fees are: Adult ZMW750.00 Junior (U16) FREE Non-participants K400.00 Your entry fee includes your Competition Fee, Zambia Sports Council Competition Levy of K50 per entrant, Camping Fees, Boat Launching, Vehicle and Trailer Parking, Evening Meal on Friday 19 th and Saturday 20 th, Breakfast on Saturday 20 th and Sunday 21 st. Your entry fee does not include any bar drinks obtained from Gwabi or elsewhere. If you wish to obtain a chalet then please contact Gwabi directly. Gwabi are kindly offering concessionary rates to Competitors. Each team must comprise no more than four adult anglers, three adult anglers and up to two juniors, two adult anglers and up to three juniors or one adult angler and up to four juniors. For the purpose of this Tournament a Junior Angler is defined as 15 years and younger. Tournament Times are: o Friday 19 th August Tournament Registration, Practice Day and Captains Meeting (at 1900 hrs). Only Team Captains are to attend the Captains Meeting. o Tournament Day One Saturday 20 th August Start off at 0700 hrs, return 1700 hrs. o Tournament Day Two Sunday 21 st August Start off at 0600 hrs, return 1530 hrs. o Prize giving Sunday 21 st August at 1700 hrs. Competition Limits are: Upriver Chirundu Bridge and Downriver the last building of Tsika Island Lodge. Kafue River maximum 10 km upstream from Gwabi Lodge. Penalties: Underweight Fish submitted for weigh in: 10 point Penalty per fish Dead Fish: Half Points per fish (not applicable to weight). Reporting after daily close time: 2 pts per minute up to 20 minutes, thereafter disqualification from that particular Tournament Day. Fishing outside the Competition limits: Disqualification from the Tournament. Fishing in Zimbabwe Waters within their Mana Pools National Park area: Disqualification from Tournament. Going ashore on any island over which Zimbabwe has a claim, or going ashore on mainland Zimbabwe: Disqualification from Tournament (note: except in the instance of break down or emergency). Placing salt blocks in the river prior to, or during, the Tournament: Disqualification from the Tournament. Failing to collect your boat tag prior to the daily Tournament Start, or failing to return the Tag at the daily Tournament end: 10 pt penalty on total score per offence. Fishing in Zimbabwe Waters. The committee hereby advises ALL competitors and Captains against fishing within Zimbabwe territorial waters anywhere within the Competition limits and at any time. The Zimbabwe Authorities are capturing Zambian-registered vessels that encroach into their Territorial Waters, and their occupants, with heavy fines ($2,000 per person) and all equipment confiscation. The ZAMBEZI RIVER Competition Committee accepts absolutely no responsibility or liability for any competing team that ignores this advice and is captured, arrested or fined by the Zimbabwe Authorities. If you choose to fish within Zimbabwe Territorial Waters than you do so entirely at your own risk. The Tournament Scoring System will be made available to each Captain along with measuring tapes for Points only fish. It is the Captains responsibility to understand and implement correctly the Tournament Scoring System. The scoring system is designed to be simple, and as this is an all species competition, that every fish a team catches will count (up to the daily bag limit as clearly stated on the scoring sheet). It is also specifically designed to encourage catch and release on this heavily pressured waterway. This is a rod and line only competition. Only recognized fishing rods and fishing line and tackle are to be used. There is no limit on the number of rods an individual competitor may employ at one time. All Tournament Entrants must be fully paid and registered Members of the Zambia Sports Fishing Association. Please note that ZSFA Memberships WILL NOT BE SOLD at the Competition Venue. Entrants who are not Members must go to www.zambiafishing.org and register their membership and follow the payment instructions provided therein. A list of paid members will be posted on the Tournament Notice board prior to the Day One start off. All Tournament Entrants must possess valid 2016 Recreational Angling Permits from the Department of Fisheries. All vessels must possess a valid Registration Certificate from the Department of Inland Waterways. All Captains must possess a valid Launchmasters Licence. Boats are not permitted to come alongside except: o To assist another boat in distress Teams refusing to assist another boat in distress will be disqualified from the Tournament. Teams are forbidden to purchase any form of live or dead fish to be used as bait or otherwise during the Tournament (defined as from Captains Meeting close to the end of Day Two). The penalty for purchasing live or dead fish during the Tournament is disqualification. Any other type of bait (I.e. earthworms) may be purchased at any time. Each vessel partaking in the Tournament must carry at all times sufficient life jackets for all occupants (whether in the Tournament or not), a whistle, yellow distress flag, paddle, bilge pump or bailing item, operational cellular phone, fire extinguisher. and Executive Committee of the ZSFA reserve the right to board and inspect any vessel in the Competition to ensure compliancy with these item requirements. All Competition Fees paid are NON REFUNDABLE. Each team must complete the Indemnity Form prior to the Tournament Start (available at Registration on 19 th August). Fuel must not be stored in the Campsite. Gwabi will provide a designated depot for this. Boat Trailers are not to be parked in the Campsite. Gwabi will provide a designated area for trailer parking. As this is an Angler of the Year event then standard ZSFA Competition Terms and Conditions shall apply. These may be downloaded from www. As clearly stated in the Competition Management Pack 2016 drunk and disorderly behavior, or physical or verbal aggression, at any time during the Tournament will not be tolerated. The interpretation and application of the Tournament Rules, Regulations and Conditions resides exclusively with the Tournament Committee, the ZSFA Executive Committee and the Tournament Marshalls appointed during the Captains Meeting. Any decision pertaining to the Tournament made by the ALL SPECIES TOURNAMENT 2016 Tournament Committee, ZSFA Executive Committee or appointed Tournament Marshalls are final and absolute. Disclaimer. Whilst the safety of all participants, competing or not, is the paramount concern all Entrants, Competitors, non-participants and any affiliated person enter the Tournament entirely at their own risk.
