Silver Spur Club October 2013 Letter From the President Take Pride and Ownership Paul Smyth President ~ Silver Spur Club Welcome to early fall 2013! We have been cruising right along with our show season. Our club membership is down a bit however our shows have been good. Game attendance, when we are not up against a rodeo, has been good not great. The Performance Division has seen some excellent growth and has also added a mini group that has also added numbers. By the end of the season the club will have had three rodeos on site and several well attended dressage events, overall a very good time for all. With our membership at the low level that it is at, we are seeing a lot of abuse of our rules and of our patients. Our rules are in place to protect the club s liability and the cost of up keep. When non-members use our grounds the insurance we have to carry is NOT VALID. If anyone gives lessons for money on our grounds, we are also NOT COVERED. We have a guest allowance that gives up to three visits per lifetime; NOT per member, NOT per year and NOT per 2014 Royalty Tryouts Good Luck & Have Fun! We as club members are responsible to police these abuses and to stand behind each other and our club in this effort; or we can all see what we, as members, work for slip away.
